Have had 5 called, I answer but they don't speak! I can hear that it's some sort of office and after 5 seconds they hang up!

Another BT impostor, the respective line 08001691608 needs to be brought down by the Net Work Provider - Other wise they need to be fined by their Governing Body for facilitating FRAUDULENT activity

I was called from the number below.  They left msg asking me to call 0800 7537854 in respect of my BT account which I had recently closed.  I am ex directory.  In case there was a problem with the closure of my account I rang BT and they assured me they had not called me.  Therefore I assume it was a scam call.

This number calls 3 or 4 times a day. No message, no voice, enough time for me to say hello and then it cuts off.

I'm normally the first to wade into the wasters who abuse the system, and our time & trust, with scam calls.
But, on this occasion it is BT. Their website lists nine valid numbers which they use to contact customers:

I am Ex Directory & only a very few family & friends have my no. so when the phone rang this morning I picked it up to find, not a friend but a call centre background noise. No one spoke and then after a few seconds the phone went dead.
The whole reason for changing my no. and going ex directory was to stop getting unsolicited & scam calls. NOT HAPPY

This number phoned today 2nd August 2017 no message only some background noise. Added to BTcall protect blacklist

Have had many calls from this number and they have not left a message on the answering machine!
Today I answered the phone to be told that it was BT - I hung up and then phoned BT who said it is definitely NOT BT!

Nobody knows... It's a complete mystery

Keep getting calls from 08001691608 when you answer there is no one there. BT should block these calls.

A man from 'BT' phoned today from 08001691608 asking to speak to the account holder. Gave the correct name of account holder. Also asked about renewing my BT sports package over the phone and told me it was due next month. Very strange request. For years I have always renewed it online. I refused to give my account details.

Hi I’ve also had quite a few of these call but I have a bt phone with call guardian on it, and it doesn’t let them through so you would think if it was really from bt it would let them through?!

This number has contacted me twice today, if it wasn't for the fact I was busy I would have answered but 1471 gave the same number as being the caller, but who is the caller?

If this is BT it's a poor sales technique and I'll quit them as soon as I can. I don't need repeated silent calls at all hours.

This is apparrently BT using silent calls to pester and harass people to sell them products. No voice on answering, no message left on answerphone, just the same silent calls day and night. Shame on them resorting to such tactics. As their broadband is already substandard, why would I want any other similar product?

They keep calling me as well, really anoying as no one is on the end when you answer, they call me about three times a week.
