This number has called me everyday for the past week and a half,when i answer the phone it goes dead i have been told it is BT,this is getting out of hand 3-4 times a day even weekend not funny its driving me nuts,does any one know how to stop thesE calls PLEASE

They've been ringing me at least three times EVERY DAY for the last SIX YEARS.  You'll never get rid of them even if you shout "F*** off" down the phone (I tried that as a last resort but it didn't work)  If I didn't need the phone line for broadband with Sky, I'd throw it out of the window at the nearest BT van.   There should be a law against harassing/stalking OAPs to this extent

Called number back and says it's BT,

Not a customer and x directory so they should know better than anyone that cold calling is against the law and ANNOYING that they don't even have the decency to leave a message they just hang up.

That is why I moved to another supplier but am still annoyed they still get the line rental.

The incidence  of nuisance calls seem to increase every day. Some time ago I purchased a "trueCall" unit, with which one can block any number or group of numbers. I have it set up to block numbers with the "unobtainable tone".  For more information, just Google it. Hope this helps.

Just got a call from this number. She was trying to sell their BT's broadband service.

Scumbags from BT trying to get me to take Broadband, I would not even have BT if there was no other choice and they paid me. My neighbout has BT infinity promised over 20Megs they onloy get 7 and all Bt say we promised UP TO 20 megs. With Virgin and get a constant 60 megs

Message to BT: We had our time but now it's over, I'm with someone else now. Also, calling every day is a surefire way to stop me from EVER coming back to you.

Sales call from BT, I have internet with them, but not in a contract so trying to get me to sign up for year. Asling for 20p more a month!! Why would i commit for more money!! he didnt understand!

Just had a useful call with BT main customer number (0800 800150) about this; explained that we keep asking 0800 1691608 to stop calling us but they still do - frequently.  As other posters, we are registered with TPS etc. The main customer lass handled it very well - and got her manager on the line for me which only took ten mins or so waiting on hold (not bad, IMO). Turned out the issue was that the "permit marketing voice calls" option was set on my account - despite every other one (email, postal mail etc etc being turned off... Hmmm!). Anyway, the manager was pretty convincing and hopefully the calls will now stop!

Had a lot of missed calls off this number eventually answered call to be told this is bt.Told him i was with the telephone preference service and after a short pause he told me he would remove me from there list.Do yourself a favour and search TPS register with them it lasts for 5 years.These companys that call can face heafty fines and you can receive compensation from them if they costantly phone you.As soon as you mention TPS they will stop the calls

I am being called every day by this number. I've never answered as I refuse to pick up from numbers I don't recognise, but they are persistent.
It's surely time that something is done about nuisance calls and protecting privacy, but what and by whom?

This is just an advert: read genuine reviews - they are not so glowing - on reputable websites first. And, know that there is an ongoing annual cost with this product.

I have read many reviews on various forums for True Call and I would say that over 90% are favourable.  Even people who have initial problems have had them fixed quickly and comment on the helpfulness of the service staff.  The annual fee is optional and depends if you want the internet connection for call logging.  You can, of course, take this as a fake post but all I will say is look on various forums.
