They have woken my newborn approx 20 times in the past week with these calls! Am a little dubious about the number to make them stop calling, I've just tried ringing it but they ask for more info - name, postcode etc - so I'd be giving them more info for their database!

Bought a washer dryer, registered it online to activate the free 5 year parts warranty from the manufacturer. I opted out of paying for the additional repair cover from D&G. Within 10 minutes of submitting the online form D&G were on the phone trying to sell me the cover I'd just said I wasn't interested in online!

Call 0800 5614493, this is the Domestic and General complaints line. We called them and complained about the calls and they said that they'll take us off the list.

Repeated calls from Domestic and General, telling my wife that we own a washing machine and have a direct debit from a house in a different town. Despite repeatedly telling them it's not us they continue to call. Today the Scottish guy got abusive and when my wife put the phone down he had the audacity to call back for another go. I answered this time and let him have both barrels.

They phoned me this evening and tried to bludgeon me into renewing a policy which doesn't expire for 6 weeks. Apparently 'lots of people like to do it early'. I iformed him I wasn't lots of people and he could put it in writing as they're supposed to do. His response "So you don't want to renew while I'm on the line". My response "No, I want you to sod off". Their number is now in my CPR call blocker so that was the last time they'll get through.

    Death to Cold Callers
Had a new Hotpoint cooker delivered today, these lot were on the phone within an hour! It's not even been connected yet. If I'd wanted the policy I'd have taken it when I was offered it at the time of purchase. Glad I checked here before answering

not happy with Domestic and General phoning and hanging up immediately but also VERY VERY concerned you seem to have paid for tps and will not renew your subscription-TPS, IS A FREE SERVICE.

Received a 'voice' message from this company and disgustingly the person on the phone decided it would be funny to burp and hang up. When they do call back I will be giving them more than a piece of my mind. A total disgrace!!!

Just bought a fridge from Currys and this number has been calling on and off ever since. I too am registered with TPS but it is a useless quango only interested in keeping it's funding while doing nothing to protect the public.

Got called by this number at 9 in the morning, picked up, heard faint chatter and what sounded like a loud burp, then the phone disconnected promptly.

I have called their reception at 0800 561 4494 been on the phone for at least 30 minutes in which the person on the other end repeatedly tried to obtain my address, postal code and (sur)name even though I told them that "You have my number, you know enough." -- I don't want my data added to their database and promptly refused to answer these questions. Then got put on hold about 3 times.

They said that they are unable to handle my complaint without any assurance that I am who I say I am, and refuse to further help me in this matter.

Instead, I told them that I do not want to file a complaint, but that I do request that effective immediately they remove my phone number from their databases and never ever call me again. That would satisfy me, but what would've satisfied me even more in retrospect would've been an audio recording of this particular phonecall.

Person that handled my case: Jake Fraser - He consulted with his team-lead named "Hannah" for whom I did not manage to catch a last name.

Here's to hoping these calls stop, or I'll do something quite brilliant and amusing with the agent that calls me, just for your listening pleasure.

Did you know that, for TPS to be effective, you need to report any nuisance calls to them?  Just registering does nothing at all.  The only people who take notice of TPS registered numbers are reputable UK based companies who agree not to call them.  Everyone else ignores TPS.  It does not even cover International, Withheld, Unavailable Number,  Automated or Market Research calls.  It certainly does not block calls.  The only good thing TPS does is to pass on your complaints to the Information Commissioner's Office as they are the only people who can impose fines on these pests. Personally, I have got  BT8500 'phone which blocks any calls I want and have not had a nuisance call since I got it.  There are other call blockers and call blocking ;phones which can be found on places like Amazon and Argos etc.

I agree with you completely.  I bought a cooker with 5 year parts guarantee. I was offered extended call out cover for the 5 years. Stupidly I agreed to have a look.  A form they sent for me to sign was for accidental and breakdown cover. They don't pay out if other insurances are in use.  My house insurance covers accidental damage and if a cooker breaks down within 5 years I'd never buy that product again.  Rang Domestic and General and told them I wasn't interested thank you.  The girl started asking what I would do if the door glass broke-that's simple, told her I'd claim on my house insurance.  Everything they were offering was negated by the small print on the policy they wanted me to sign.  I have since received yet another policy for me to sign with no changes. Told them in no uncertain terms that I wasn't interested.  I now get calls, that I would state borders on harassment, from several numbers this company use, all of which I now ignore.  Hotpoint, Indesit and Canon must make really inferior products by the amount of letters and calls I receive from Domestic and General,  informing me that my product is likely to break down after just 2 years of use.  I'm a pensioner but can still sort things out myself. I do however, often think of people this company bombard with calls to pressurize them into submitting to taking out a policy which is just not suitable for them. Talk of the devil- third call today! 0800 444231

They call at different times each day.  As I have caller display I ignore it, but like many others I have been registered with TPS for several years and they really are a complete waste of time.
