Follow up ........... I contacted BT customer help with my complaint about received BT SMS Text calls.  This is the link to their live, online chat help -

A lot easier than calling them!  Hopefully, fingers crossed, they have resolved the issues by removing what they called "free text minutes" on my account - whatever that is - it appears to conflict with opt out.  I now await a call back from them next week to see if the problem has been resolved.

I'm not saying that this is THE same issue for everyone but I hope it helps some of you.

Second time commenting on this BT SMS to speech message service.  Began having calls from this number a few weeks ago, receiving only partial and therefore useless messages.  Found instructions in other comments here on how to call 08005875252 and opt to bar such calls and did that weeks ago.  Today I received two abandoned calls and one silent within a few minutes, all from the same number.  Called 08005875252 and confirmed these calls are barred, but still they come!

Attempted to report to BT, but not convinced the Indian call centre guy was able to really deal with the issue.  I suggested that he should have a manager look at the 46 pages of comments here and to expect an Ofcom complaint and newspaper articles about the fact that BT is making nuisance calls, in spite of opt outs being in effect!  Reported BT to Ofcom for abandoned and silent calls.

Also went to TalkTalk website and discovered they have a FREE last number call barring service.  Activated it and will try that too once update to options is registered.  Hope others find something helpful here.

Garbled text message today containing a bad joke....I assume they want people to phone back on an 0800 number. Just another scam

Garbled message on ansafone. Could not understand one word. If this is a communications company the call quality is shyte!!!

This number called my elderly mother at 7.23am, this is not on!!!

Ive had silent alls from this number at 8.10 the last 2 mornings.  Called back and it says it is from BT text message, but i'm not with BT. It says to visit a BT web page, which tells you nothing about it. I called BT to complain but the guy said it is not be it is "scammers" and they will be monitoring the call to BT so to be careful. WTF??

Phoned from this number several time, it only rings 3 times then stops.

Just received a call from this number, with an SMS message about current offers at a local Indian takeaway.... very strange.

Half past 10 on a Monday night, 5/10/15 and we get a call, was to slow to answer as was in bed and phone in lounge, no message left,

I sleep badly for medical reasons and quite often need to have an "afternoon nap" so was intensely annoyed that this number called me to tell me i had a text message for another 0843 number which sounded very much like Sky Customer Services number.
Option 1 was listen to the text message and Option 4 was to switch the service off. Can't remember the other options but hit 4 to get rid of it. Bad enough with PPI, Accident, windos, kitchens and all the other excuses people think of to phone up for a chat! If they're lonely, go to the park, the library, supermarket - in fact anywhere but on the end of a phone to me!

Message left tracking number yesterday. Could have been Giordano Wines order it arrived today. Great offer 6  whites, 6 reds, pesto, rice, noodles, biscuits, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, 6 square bowls, 6 square dinner plates - for £59 including delivery. They must be totally nuts!!!
Had this last month and cheekily emailed to ask if it was still available. Nice lady called from Italy gave us the offer again. All good quality goods. Takes 10 days or more, they do tell you, I think it comes direct from Italy.

Did they also tell you they piss in their wines

This number has called 3 times this morning at 7.25am ,7.40am 7.42am  I havent answered the call but i was sleeping peacefully and it woke me up, worried in case it was something serious at this time of the morning. . So i dont know the company name. but can it be stopped x as i am disabled, and need to rest .

I had a call on my landline from this number saying there was an SMS text message from my own mobile phone no. and to press 1 to listen to the message.  The message said 'Your car has been stolen'  My car was sitting on my front drive at the time. I had not sent myself this message from my mobile phone, and no-one else has access to it. Our provider is not BT as we live in jersey and our supplier is Jersey Telecoms. How can comeone have sent this message using my own mobile number?

it is legit but annoying its a sms service i had it call me 3 times listened to sms and it was to let me know my parcel would be delivered that day.

In bed yesterday morning, day off called at 8.08, no one there when answered, idiots!

It left a message that makes me think it is a work call but the number is suspicious.
