Called twice in the last 5 minutes......may call again. Rang off as we answered the phone.

i am at my wits end with them!!! i have had 8 calls tonight and one at 01.55am!!!

who do i contact to stop this

this same number has called me all through the nigh from midnight onwards around every 3 or 4 mins. Ive had about 50  or 60 calls so far, i phoned bt faults to comlain and they gave me a number to apparentley turn it off for a while, i had all ready done that but its still phoning me, its now 4.53am and oh its ringing again! Ive had no damm sleep!

If you were called by this number it means you have a waiting SMS message but BT SMS has a computer glitch, call 0800 602 1111 to recieve your texts.

I called BT and reported this and they basically told me not to say anything when I answered the phone then just hang up. They didnt tell me the number was something to do with them. Im gonna phone them in the morning and give them hell.

I have had loads of these but the last 24hrs has been appaulling.All through the night ....Am blumming tired and fed up.Thought there was an emergency!!!!How do I stop them?

Hi - got three of  calls today from this no. 08005875290 - found this page and called BT (must have pressed 25 different options and got through to technical support.  They have now removed this service from my line - a service i didnt ask for in the first place.  Tut.

called 5 times whilst i was watching xfactor it is getting on my nerves the call drops when i answer who are they ?

Had 2 calls within 5 minutes from this number.  No one at the other end - just hangs up

08005875290 is the BT Tex service number to Landline Phones, just call FREE of charge to 1571 and it will read the tex message to you in a computer voice.
1571 is BT's Free answering machine service, for when you are already on the phone or dont answer. It leaves a Break/Pause in the dial tone to let you know that there is a message/Tex waiting. The reminder ringing is to let you know that there is a tex waiting to be read.

Ok, I called the company and after being on hold forever (at my expense) I have been given a number (0800 5875252) if you call that number it gives you the option to change the text message call time or disable it (option 5 I think).

This number rings our house four or five times daily. When I do answer...its silent and then the line goes dead!

I used the info above regards "water-shedding" when text are received. If you are x-directory, you need to put 1470 before 08005875252 then listen to the options. I was on the line for about 45 seconds, and it offers to stop text messages being received which was the 5th choice, and should happen within 20 minutes....AT LONG LAST....THANKYOU ALL FOR THE INFO!!!

i Had 3xcalls within 10 mins ..i looked at  my phone and in the settings for the sms messages under settings i found this number there ....i turned the sms bit off and i have had no more calls from this number i hope this helps

Just received several calls as described above too.  Googled the number and found you all - god how annoying.  So far we have received three calls, so maybe we are in for a bit of an evening - oh joy.

Had three calls in the space of 15mins with nobody on the other end of the line.
Our number is ex-directory so we can invite people to call us on a line that WE pay for, We do not rent this line to our home for your convenience.
Stop calling us.

I recieved three calls from this number to my mobile phone last night all in about the space of an hour but the caller didnt leave it ringing long enough for me to answer. I Carried my phone around with me all night & sure enough within half an hour I got another call I picked up immediatly & the line went dead about 20mins later i recieved a call from an 'unknown number' i ignored it. Another 5mins later I had another call from an 'Unknown number' I answered and a recorded voice told me there were 2  voice text messages (or words to that effect)& to press a button if I wanted to listen to it. I thought it may be a scam but not having any credit on my phone anyway i pressed the button & a recorded voice read out something about paddy & murphy that made absolutley no sense whatsoever. I did have a landline diverted to me earlier in the day but i think it was undiverted before the calls.

Phone has rung 4 times in the last hour. Nobody there. 1471 brings up 08005 875290 and when you call it it says there is an SMS Text from BT.  For further info visit BT.com.
