Call from Elite sky repairs. Its a scam and they have changed their number. They pursuade you to give your card details etc over the phone for a reduced sky repair protection plan. Checked with SKY who have nothing to do with them. It all felt uncomfortable when they refused to send out paperwork first. Have cancelled my card immediatly.
    Beware.

We have changed our number as we had an issue with the telecommunications firm providing the original number, we can still be contacted on this number it is just we prefer to be contacted on this new number.

We are also an FSA regulated firm, we have good ties with trading standards and we have excellent security for your personal details and information by utilizing the latest technology.

This is the new number for Elite Sky Repairs, if you want to find out more about them you can search on this site for their old number: 0800 9802078. It  ain't pretty.

I imagine that the change of number had more to do with the growing list of serious complaints against them on this website than any issue with their provider!
Fortunately my dad was put off by the confusing sales pitch and gave them no details.

If you have given them any card details then based on others' experiences the best thing you can do is to try to cancel ( by law you have 14 days to cancel a contract free of charge) or get your bank to block any direct debit to them. In addition, if you feel that similar unscrupulous tactics were used against you as previous customers describe then you can contact Consumer Direct (linked to Office of Fair Trading and Trading Standards, they will pass relevent info to these organisations) http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/contact or you could contact the FSA.

Hopefully complaints to official bodies will force them to improve or stop trading.

I doubt your company can help anyone. I would stay clear from you after a very short call from one of your staff.

I had a call from Barry on the 08007797444 number and he totally confused me and got me to agree to £5 a month for repairs, saying I already paid £8 a month and this was a special offer?? I couldn't remember agreeing to this service but as he said it was on the system, I thought I must be having a senior moment!! When the paperwork came through, it said they had taken £20.97 for a quarterly payment?? How is this £5 a month...when I called to speak to Barry, suprise suprise, he was out, I explained to the girl how I felt, she said he must have pressed the priority button by mistake to get the £20.97 and she would refund the difference. I said to her I felt tricked and please cancel it completely and refund the money, she said she had done so. So far it is not refunded in my bank. She was polite and apologised to me and said she would speak to Barry when he came back, but never protested or tried to keep my business. I am just not sure about them now.

    Hi Angela,

Apologies firstly for providing you with the wrong cover option, your situation has brought to light a new method of refunding consumers which is now quicker and can be for partial amounts in an automated fashion.

The policy will have been refunded immediately, the banks transfer the money from our account straight away but it takes 3-5 working days to reach your account. I have spoken with the banks about this but unfortunately we cannot get it to you quicker. If you have not received your money by Monday please do call us and ask for me as I will be more than happy to talk to you about this.

    Thanks for your time.

    Hi Chris,

Unfortunately we did have to get a new 0800 number as the other provider was charging a great deal more than the other new one we have. The 0800 number is to provide consumers with a free way to talk with us, unlike many other warranty providers whom have 0844/0871 numbers.

We also work closely with Bournemouth trading standards whom are our point of contact with consumers who do not wish to talk to us directly. Refunds are delivered automatically within the 14 day cooling off period, but may take between 3-5 working days thereafter due to the bank transfer times. Consumer protection acts give us 28 days to refund but we do this immediately to improve consumer relations.

If you wish to contact me please do call us on either 0800 7797444 or 0800 9802078. Thanks for your time.

I fell for the elite sky repairs scam.
They called me and said they was for SKY, they said they could save me £2 a month on my sky package of which i thourght was very good. They had a lot of information about me and convinced me to hand over my bank card details. When i recieved the repairs agreement through the post i was gutted that i'd been scamed. I contacted them and went mad over the phone and demanded my money back for being misold this product. I also contacted SKY and the FSA to explain what this company was upto, which both companys reasured me they were going to investigate this matter.
I am in the process of trying to get my £21 back through my bank and elite sky repairs bank.
Last night my wife had a call from somebody saying they were fro SKY and could save me £2 a month on my sky package? When she asked if they were from elite sky repairs they put the phone down on her, What a cheek of some people!
PLEASE DO NOT FALL FOR THIS SCAM AS I DID!

Thanks for your reply Richard. I have just checked my bank and the money has still not been refunded, but ok after your comments I will check on Monday and will indeed call you if this money has not appeared. I am trying to keep an open mind on this and be fair to your company. Maybe if you were more upfront about things and not try to pull the wool over peoples eyes, you would get more custom as I think the £5 a month for that type of cover is very reasonable.

    Hi Michael,

I'm sorry to hear your views on us, we are an ethical company and have strict compliancy. If you can let me know any details via customerservices@eliteskyrepairs.co.uk that would help especially the number we called you on so we can trace it.

It is always best to contact companies first as you will find that the relevant authorities will ask us to contact you in any case so effectively our response is days/weeks slower and the information given to us may not be entirely accurate.

If you did take out a policy with us I do not think that we would have called your again as our system would have removed you from the dialling code.

We are entirely independent of BSkyB, we provide our own policies underwritten by insurers. If you would be so kind as to email or call 0800 7797444 or 0800 9802078 that would be helpful so we can find your policy and sort any issues out. If you speak to Daniel between 12pm and 8pm I have made him aware you may call.

    Thanks for your time.

    Had 3 calls from these.
They said they were offering a cheaper service than Sky and are in our postcode area so can respond quicker.
Asked us to alter our standing order from £7 per month to 3% then he changed his mind as he said we had Sky HD Plus so it was £9 down to £7.
I checked my standing orders and do not pay them anything anyway.
told them this and hung up.
It seems others in our district have had the same or similar calls.
I did not give them any bank details nor card ones either.
    Very suspicious!

Obviously you were not listening when it was explained..Sky do not have their own warranty provider, therefore third party companies deal with the repairs and maintenance cover.. I received alot of calls from elite sky repairs and at first my opinion was the same, however after speaking to ashley who dealt with customer services he informed me of the service that they do provide, in clear terms.. If you are unsure of the service i would say that the best thing to do would be to call in and ask ashley to explain further, the service is good and i am now happy with elite sky repairs providing my cover.

I just had a call from Elite with the offer of a reduction to my SKY call out charges from £8 to £6.
The guy was quite pleasant, stating he could post my documents to me as well as sending by email.
When I told him I couldn't get to my card at the time, due to being laid up in bed, he got agitated.
I got the run-around from him as he couldn't set up the paperwork until he had my Credit card number.
The contact number he gave me was 08007797444. I tried this but no joy.
After a search I found the 0800 9802078 and tried it but no answer.
Sounds like a scam to me as well.
I will be contacting the bank to cancel any DD with this company

I just had a crank call from 08007797444. When I answered the phone with my company's name, the guy on the other end said," Have a reefer, you need to calm down!" Never had any dealings with these people before so I assume they dialled the wrong number. His tone doesn't suggest that this company is very reputable does it!

Just had another look at Elite Sky Repairs for contact address.
Nothing but the phone number 0800 9802078, not the number that the guy called me from 08007797444.
I did notice that there are three addresses though, which makes me think they are a shell company
    The Terms & Conditions gives the address as;
Elite Sky Repairs Limited, Bristol & West House, Post Office Road, Bournemouth, Dorset BH1 1BL

Just had the SKY savings call even though I don't have SKY; from Nationwide Sat Services.  And, last weekend got the annoying Indian Call Centre who wanted to talk about my TV package before I hung up on them.  Cowboys, give them the widest possible berth.
