    Just had a missed call from these people and found this site! Thanks to everyone on here for the heads up although I'm sure why someone from "Vodaphone" would be calling me when I'm on O2...

    I received a call from this number whilst I was driving home from work. I ignored the call and thought that if it was something important or legitimate they would call me back or try my landline.  I was suspicious of the number as I don't usually give my mobile number out to anyone except for my bank and other online services.

    It looks like they've exhausted their Vodaphone database which they've probably bought off someone and are now targetting O2 customers as that's who I'm with! Would be interesting to see what they say about upgrading my Vodafone package especially as I have a Simplicity tariff with O2 which doesn't include a handset!!!

    Will continue to ignore the calls

    I have been receiving these calls at least 2 or 3 times a day. The first time I answered, no one replied. I tried to call the number back which was 08080011101 but it was just a vodafone recording saying it was a courtesy call and to ring 08080000155 if you wish to speak to an adviser. But I never got to speak to anyone.  Now that I know it's a scam I've actually blocked it in my incoming calls. It's a nuisance now but scary at first!

    If this is Vodafone, why are they calling me at least daily when I've NEVER been a customer of theirs???

    These clowns keep calling me.  I'm on the mobile directory opt out, so shall simply waste thier time for a bit and have some fun with them by telling them I work closely with the data protection commission and don't appreciate the fact they are quoting the data protection act to hide their dodgy shenanigans.  Will then ask for the name of the company's data protection officer.  Let's see how far through the conversation I get before they hang up on me!

    As a lot of people here, I had a missed call from this number. I LOVE the Internet for a lot of reasons, finding out what numbers are scammers is one of them. Now I've added the number to my reject list and hope not to here any more trom these people!

    My boyfriend just got a call from this number on his ORANGE phone! He was all ready to believe it was actually vodafone, but i made him get some kind f proof as i was a bit sceptical. They gave him a number to ring, which we did, and they confirmed 'Aski' was actually a vodafone employee and the deal was legit. I then googled the number they gave us which came up with a website called phonescam or something along those lines, so when he rang back i took the number and entered it here.

    My boyfriend hung up straight away, and when he rang back i answered to tell them he doesn't own the phone or live here. 'Aski' was very adamant that he had just been talking to my boyfriend and would not take no for an answer.

    WHY BOTHER? [***]..

    Just got a call from this number, which I ignored. I was then left a voicemail with people chatting in the background for five seconds - seems they didn't hang up quick enough when my voicemail picked up!

    I'm on BT, so agree that this is a scam, and I'll be ignoring all calls from them.

    * * IMPORTANT INFORMATION * *
    THIS IS DEFINATLY VODAFONE COLD CALLING SALES TEAM.

    THEY GET PEOPLES NUMBERS FROM VARIOUS SOURCES.

    YOU CAN GET YOUR NUMBER TAKEN OFF THEIR SYSTEM IF YOU ASK

    * * * BUT * * *

    MOST IMPORTANTLY, ASK TO SPEAK TO A MANAGER, AND THEY CAN TELL YOU THE SOURCE FROM WHERE THEY GOT YOUR NUMBER.

    IF THEY HAVE RECIEVED THE NUMBER FROM A SOURCE AND YOU MADE SURE THAT THE BOXES WERE MARKED THAT YOU DO NOT WANT INFORMATION TO BE PASSED TO A THIRD PARTY, THEN YOU HAVE A CASE UNDER THE DATA PROTECTION ACT.

    got missed call from 08080000144, rang back.
    says to call vodaphone advisor on 08080000155 which i did, but lines were all busy.

    i'm assuming i got this call as i did give vodaphone my number as my T-mobile account is out of contract and asked for updates on the iphone.

    my point is  - it does seem genuine.  unlike the other "missed calls" which have been from supposed T-Mo "upgrades team" with various names....which after contacting T-Mo directly, are no such thing....they are merely selling on new contracts under the pretense of an upgrade.

    Hey, just had a missed call from this number - thanks for letting everyone know it's dodgy!! I'm a bit confused though, I'm on O2 pay as you go.  I'll answer if they call back to let everyone know what they say, they may have got some O2 details now too!!

    Thanks again!
