I have had missed calls everyday during working hours for 3 weeks. I have never rung back because i am aware of the missed call scam. I found this forum but do not believe it is vodafone. The reason is that i am on orange and have never been on vodafone.

I keep receiving missed calls from this number - no message left, however, alot of the previous messages posted on here seem to imply that this is someone alleging to be from Vodafone and it appears contacting people who have some form of Vodafone contract albeit contract or payg - I don't know where they have got my number form - I'm not on the Vodafone network and never have been.  Getting fed up with these types of calls - why is there not something being done about them?

they called me yesterday. the following conversation took place
me: hello?
him: hello, this is vodafone manchester, can i please speak to *****?
me: speaking...
him: oh hello. how are you? are you doing ok lately?
me: yeah...
him: good. are you on pay as you go or contract?
me: pay as you go...

then the line got really staticy and i had to hang up.

weird thing is, im on o2. and they have called me twice today, just ignoring them now.

I got constant phone calls from this number which I always ignore.  However the other day i decided to answer, they said they were calling from Vanquis, who i applied for a credit card ages ago with, with i told them i was no longer interested they told me i had to answer security questions to cancel my application!  At this stage i hung up on them!!  About 2 hours later the same number called, this time it was "Simon" from Vodafone (I am on O2!).  Seriously if your going to try & scam people & pretend to be 2 different companies then at least be clever enough to withold your number!!

Wow, I've been reading the posts and now it seems they are targeting other non-Vodafone telephony customers.
Well it seems this number is being used on 3 customers as well (I'm on 3). I suspect they have a bank of randomly generated mobile phone numbers and go for a blanket call in the hopes someone actually picks up and gives out details.

Think about it, we are in a recession. Scammers in any shape or form will try ANYTHING to get at your money.

After recieving several calls from this number.
Thought to myself OK answer it and tell them to take me off their data base....Imagine how surprised I was to find a pal of mine on the end of the line who works for voda wishing me a happy christmas. He's phoning everyone in his book and saving his minutes. Nothing like a little misappropriation during the festive season!
So it is a genuine Vodafone number

Ask me when i was due for upgrade and what network was i with , i then ask them where they got my number and they said off databases etc, i proceeded to tell them that i was a manager for o2 and wasnt interested in there deal and they hung up on me.

I keep getting calls from this phone number and I don't recognise the number. They don't leave a message. Thanks to this website I have now blocked the number!

this is definitely a scam! i suggest you block this number! do not answer it!

Just had the same number calling me a minute ago. Silence of course. Since it's 2010 this scam is circulating for many years now. Like everyone above I'm not with vodafone.

This number has been ringing me for weeks ,don't know who they are as I don't answer . I am on orange pay as you go .Think it is some scam .
