Just had a read of the TPS website.  Although it is free to join and hopefully stop the unwanted calls, as I've just found out, I was already a member of this (TPS) so went to the section to make a complaint of the 'Consumer Net' morons.

Immediately, TPS says they aren't the 'enforcers' but refer to ico.  This is the direct link to the 'making a complaint' section on the ico website....

It's entirely up to you if you want to fill in the form or not, but if it puts an end to Consumer Net, then anything is worth a shot I guess; and the more complaints the ICO gets, then hopefully the more likely something will be done about the problem.  The only other option I can think of is contacting BBC's Watchdog; and maybe we'll get to put a face to 'Consumer Net' on the TV.

Thanks for that info.  They can run but they can't hide.  Not only the same scam but the same scum.

If tapa are on the run how is it last week they helped me recover money through my credit card company that scam advert companies duped me out of?

Ive asked about this thread and im advised the service they provided that caused upset is no longer provided and has not been for 6 months!!

peace, what do you base your post on? I asked tapa and they said they have been around since '07 and people can contact trading standards to check that there is no investigation and that they are actually in regular contact regarding investigations in to the ad scams and that the nuisance calls site is evidently one of the ad companies trying too pass off as tapa and urge people to report the site. If they are the same why ask me to report them?

Nan, i also asked about your posts and they told me to check historically on this site and you have been on for over a year and usually only apear when a good comment goes up to then berate that contributer. They also told me not to post on here but after stopping my calls and helping me get money back i think its a crying shame that you are trying to spread negativity. Sure, they probably have the odd unhappy customer on the only service they provide now but thousands for one they no longer provide which they say is for that exactreason they do not offer it.

Accuse me, abuse me, say what you want about my comments. I know them to be true and others will too. I wont fall in to the trap of defending my comments and will not post again. Nan, i wish you the best but am confused why if you was on the home service and had issues that tapa clearly have addressed why you now post about the business service you surely have no experience of. Like ive been told, you never know whos who on these things!

Also, tapa make a valid point in saying that a negative comment goes on then amazingly within the hour your comment follows adding turps to the fire?!hmmmm....

I personally find it very suspicious when a so called 'customer' comes on a reverse no website to recommend or defend a company. Customers who have received the service they expected wouldn't think to do this the only times I have found they do do this is in instances of excellent quality of work done around the home ie by a tradesman. General public use services everyday they complain if its bad if its what they expected they tend not to think anything more on it because it was expected to be done.

So I would take with a pinch of salt any rave reviews on here, personally I always suspect they are the views of someone from the organisation. Which them rises further questions people from good companies and service providers wouldn't think to look on these sites as they know their service is legit.

What surprises me is that this is a service free with the TPS there are companies that sell the TPS service for a fee but all they do is then go and register your info with TPS. The fact that these guys say you will still receive calls when you end their service would concern me. It sounds like a scare mungering tactic to keep your business.

The TPS is good to a point it doesn't stop scammers and dodgy companies that threat to still call. I think the best solution would be to get a trucall machine this way you can screen your calls prior to answering you will also find telepest calls hang up without trying to pass the machine.

Either that or buy a whistle then just blow it down the phone at them every time they call this has also proved to be effective.

It's safe to say there is an element of doubt with this one so the best way to deal with that is to eliminate the doubt and avoid this company.

Paul, seems you have confirmed what tapa say! You apear from nowhere and have no opinion on their service yet tell me I am not allowed to post positive info as these threads are soley for negative comments??

If the internet is only there to destroy people and not praise there is so much misuse of the internet going on it should be disconnected completely! Google need to be investigated and shut down as there are lots of links to sites with "rave reviews"! Tapa said not to do what I have but its hard not to when you know its untrue and as you raise suspicions about me it's plain to see the same can be thought of yourself (no offence but its a bit strange to not air a view about tapa and seem to only have posted in an attempt to discredit me). yes tapa have been stopped as you mention, about six months ago, a file was handed over to the police of there agents pretending to be the fraud squad there agents would call people and claim they had been scammed whey they had not.

Check the registered office of the company I identified, this information in my last post was taken from there website.

Its not someone passing off its tapa , dont be so gullable!! They have just put a company in someones name, this may be a friend of Micheal Simister the real owner of tapa.

My company is completely different to the tapa, i only advertise on google on a cost per click campaign, people come to me to make a registration after they have realised that the free service is not working for them, we stop people from getting calls from abroad and rogue and scam companies with a call blocking device.
Just because i have a registered address in a building that the tapa do,does not mean in any way shape or form that we are them.....thousands of companies use that address as it is a prestigious London address, plus my accountants are based in the building, so it is used as my registered address, i do not mask or hide any of my details, as it is quite clear to find who we are by using the companies house check service.
I shall be contacting this website with a view to having your completely incorrect and offensive comments and posts removed.

Do you not expect people will just dial tapas number to confirm your posts are true? When they do in effect your post will confirm what tapa tell people like me, the scam companies post nonsense on these forums to stop innocent people getting their help.

Amazes me that you accuse nuisance calls registry of being a scam and I of being employed by either of them, not exactly a trustworthy source of information are you?LOL!

Is there a particular police force or officer we can speak with to clarify why a company they have shut down (puzzling in itself unless they have arrested tapa?) is still very clearly trading or what exact criminal offence they were charged with and found guilty of? What link between tapa and the nuisance call site do you have? I asked them and they seemed aware of the nuisance call site but claimed no involvement and stated they are specific to the sponsorship ad industry and also pointed out that if they were using multiple sites under different names and going to those lengths why use the same address?!

Do not threaten me.  There was nothing slanderous in my response.  If you are not TAPA then you have nothing to fear, have you?

You are correct, we are not tapa and do not have anything to hide, however, some of my customers may search these kind of forums before making a registration, and this kind of comment will not help. Please ensure your facts are correct before making damaging comments to what is a completely legitimate genuine firm.

TAPA is an absolute con all they are doing is charging to register your details with the official state run TPS service.

Go to the TPS direct get it for free on there website  www.tpsonline.org.uk

This TAPA is just a parasite of service that costs you money.

You need to get a grip of reality and common sense.
