Report a phone call from 08432896037 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- Dennis| 1 replyThe number is for TAPA. They are currently chasing me for an outstanding balance from this number and the accounts guy was a Nigel Firth that uses this line. He sounded greek / brummie and suffering from sleep deprivation. Wat a guy!

- Roy - East Sussex| 2 repliesHi Folks
I received a pack from these boys two days ago. It arrived late and should have been with me about 3 days ago!! NOT IMPRESSED!! I have told them i am NOT happy with them sending me my documents late. I got a call-back from one of their representatives today - a Mark Kilatchi from their "accounts department" stating they needed to go through the pack with me. When I said the pack came a few days late, he said I had not to worry and put the blame on Royal Mail. He reckons they posted it on time and the postal service must be running behind.
He then explained that the process from now on would be to ignore all of the sales calls i am getting and they would be able to trace the address of callers that rang me. However, warned me that I would receive several phone calls still from sales companies while they were dealing with it. I don't know whether they will be any good at stopping these charity calls and would like to know if any browsers of this page have used their service and if it has stopped the calls from them.
I have paid them money on my card in good faith. When i was on the phone to them the line was a bad signal and crackly. You would think a proper firm would have clear telephone lines and not crackly so i am not impressed with that either. Maybe their call centre is in India perhaps?
I will update this blog to report any progress with their service as soon as i am aware of any progress.- Caller: TAPAS
- carlHad a message left asking me to call this number back. The message was a little unclear so googled it and found this forum. At least I know who it is now so thanks.
Does anybody have a bit more info on what they do? The guy mentioned advertising calls on the message but like I say, it wasn't too clear.
Any info would be appreciated.- Caller: tapa

TAPA is not an advertising regulatory body or marketing watchdog. Basically they are powerless - Nan replies to Roy - East Sussex| 1 replyBe very careful. There is a reason the pack was late arriving. If you decide to cancel the Distance Selling Regulations state you have 7 days from the date of receipt of the pack but TAPA will try and claim it is 7 days from the date of the pack. Obviously, if the pack is late the 7 days can have expired. I woukd suggest you read up on 08445373311 to learn more about this lot. You should also be aware that they cannot do any more to stop sales calls tham TPS, which is free. When you read up on the other number, you will see that there is some information rwgarding TAPA and charity calls.
- phil142 replies to NanTo add to Nan's warning: Note also that the 7 days allowed is only supposed to be working days not Sunday. They try to ignore that too. Watch out as well for their trick of registering you twice and trying to charge a 2nd fee. That happened in my case. Definitely look at the string of messages on the old number 08443573311
- Alan| 3 repliesHere is the relevant regulation and Saturday is also not regarded as a working day
http://www.legislation.gov.uk/uksi/2000/2334/regulation/12/made - Landscape Designer replies to Alan| 2 repliesI was registered with TAPA for 14 months. They did stop the calls but they still wanted ten quid a month to keep them stopped afterwards.
I am over 60 years old and classed as an OAP and they don't give discounts to the elderly which is unfair as I have a bad back as well. I have deregistered now to save the extortionate £10 a month and they said the calls will start up again from charity publishers. I think they should let me stay registered for free seen as they have now done the hard work but they said no they won't do it.
I'll just have to hope the calls don't come back. I'm not happy they wanted still paying. - Nan replies to Landscape DesignerInteresting that they say you will receive calls from charity publications. That sounds like a threat. If you check out the other number given on here for them you can read some very interesting posts regarding the TAPA connection with charity publications. What type of calls did they stop? It would be interesting to know whether they only stopped calls from charity publications. By the way, if you were paying them by Direct Debit it might be worth checking with your bank that they are not still taking the payments.
- phil142 replies to Landscape DesignerIf they pester you with calls, ignore them. Don't get into any conversation with them and report any suspicious activities (such as increased charity calls) to Cheshire Trading standards who have been investigating them.
- William| 6 repliesI can't find the 7 day cancellation clause on their site. Any idea where to find it? I am concerned now that they may be hiding it. Phil142, after seeing your post I did speak to trading standards but the man I spoke to said there is not an investigation and that they have had meetings in the offices of tapa and they are satisfied with them. I dont know if I can put his name but it starts with P. Who did you speak to?
- phil142 replies to William| 5 repliesMay be the same person as his name began with P (i also don't want to give the name here). He told me that he had been liaising with TAPA and he persuaded them to drop my case but was unwilling to make any statement about their activities. They may have changed their cancellation info since i got caught up in it because of the ASA ruling against them in january this year. When did you first become involved with them/sign up on their site?
- Nan replies to phil142| 1 replyCorrect me if I am wrong but I think that, even if they don't show the 7 day cooling off period, they are still bound by it as it is a Distance Selling Regulation. In fact, I would think that not showing it would be a breach of the regulations. What do you think? The only thing I wonder is whether some of the posters on here are businesses, rather than individuals, and whether there are different rules.
- William replies to phil142| 2 repliesHe explained that he had liaised with them on a few occasions and that they had not acted in any fashion to warrant trading standards to be involved on an investigatory basis. It is in some way comforting to know they are aware of them but I have called them again this morning regarding the 7 day cancellation and am awaiting a call back. Tapa on the other hand have said the 7 day cancellation was for a service they no longer provide and that they have a 14 day cancellation as they now have reverted back to dealing with businesses only. I'm not involved financially but have had a call from them and was considering help due to problems I'm having. My understanding so far is that the service they no longer provide was questionable but the commercial one seems to work(?). I have read the info about their involvement with advertising companies but they assure me this is nonsense as when you join in the pack they send out is a guide on how to get money back. Their words were along the lines of "if we have scammed you out of thousands of pounds why would we then help you get it back for such a small amount of money". Maybe not the exact words but to that effect anyway. I am real confused to say the least.
- phil142 replies to NanHi Nan: Yes I agree that they are still bound by it. I was only suggesting a reason as to why it hadn't been found on the website. I do believe that the cooling off period for businesses is 14 days. i have come across this a few times.
- phil142 replies to William| 1 replyWilliam: I can't personally comment on the business side of it as I can only go on evidence read on forums like this. There have been a lot of complaints claiming that the charity side of it is a scam but I really don't know how much truth there is in it. However my encounter with them was not positive in any way.
- Nan replies to phil142Hi Phil, Wonderful news that TAPA are no longer tormenting individuals. LizzieM would be thrilled. Interesting, though, as they still seem to use veiled threats, as in the case of "Landscape Gardener".
- Kal| 1 replyhttp://www.mpsonline.org.uk/tps/index.html
This is a link for the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) - which is basically what tapa claim to do. When you pay tapa, they just register you on this service which stops all of the phone calls. However it's a free service and is quicker to do than speaking to tapa and getting them to do it (you basically just type in your telephone number and some other details - it literally takes 20 seconds) and then you're protected by the official central register that tapa are talking about - ie you can do it directly yourself, quicker, and for free.
I only know this because I made the mistake of signing up with tapa (I thought it was a good idea at the time, and the nuisance calls certainly stopped). I gave them my notice in due time, but they continued to take the money off my card and eventually my banks card department had to stop it. And for some reason tapa aren't returning my calls..- Caller: Tapa
- Call type: Telemarketer
- w replies to KalHave had experience with both and fair play to Tapa, they did stop the calls that Tps couldn't. Although a tenner a month is not loads to some, when you are struggling it is. Touch wood though the problem hasn't come back so hopefully won't need to reregister with Tapa. Big difference between Tapa and Tps is that Tapa actually speak to you, and they help get back a load of money I was duped out of.
