what they won`t from me

Called me yesterday, possibly twice, but I was out so my answerphone only recorded the sound of them hanging up on it.  

1471 said the number last called at 16:50pm on 23/03/11 but I have had a lot of calls like this and recordings like that on the answerphone over the past few weeks.

Leave a message or stop calling.  

And if this is anything to do with the idiots at nPower, who have written to me by mistake but cannot understand that I am not their customer and neither was the previous owner of the house we live in and that neither we nor she have a connection to the other address they have quoted on their letter as belonging to the man they think lives at our address, then stop calling.  We don't owe you the money for the other address, we've never heard of the man who does.  You've made a mistake with the house number and written to us in error so I do not need to fill in a change of occupier form and you have no need for my meter reading.  And I don't owe you £1150.22.

Automated system trying to sell me advice about mis-selling of payment protection insurance for visa and mastercard

Getting recorded message type calls from this number. The message talks about money & debt. I don't know who this company is. I'm ex-directory too which is most annoying

No idea why I got a recorded message from this number. It called me and was computerised so i hung up.

Got their call at 4:45pm yesterday, i hung up. My phone line has only been activated 1 week and its a new number. How have they managed to get my number, im on the tps too.

Despite being ex directory I keep getting these nuisance calls - I have caller display so I don;t answer them

got new phone number since then - 7 weeks - have had constant calls from this number 7 days a week, random times - the only way round it is to unplug my phone, which defeats the object of having one. I am sick and tired of this invasion of privacy by SCAMMERS who have no respect for people's privacy - if I find out who this company is, I am going to give them serious junk email / etc payback for all the hassle they give me - be warned whoever you are....

The ICO received enhanced powers on Wednesday to fine firms that are caught making unwanted marketing phone calls or sending unwanted marketing emails to consumers of up to £500,000.

Statement from Relax Telecom plc

It has been brought to our attention that there are a number of complaints in relation to calls originating from numbers allocated to the Relax Telecom plc Network.

We would like to state categorically that these calls are not being made by Relax Telecom plc. We are a Telecommunications Network that provide telecom solutions to numerous companies - we are NOT however a marketing company nor do we provide or implement any voice broadcast or auto dialler facilities. .

It would seem that the automated calls in question are using software that display CLI’s (Caller ID’S) that are built on to them.  The nature of this software means that any CLI can be programmed to be displayed. In this case Relax Telecom plc CLI’s are being displayed.

In addition to this, Relax Telecom plc are not delivering these calls via our Network. The service we have actually provided across this range is an inbound only service, pointing to a standard IVR system. This system is provided to a reseller Relay Station, who has informed us that they had allocated the range to the Service Provider SCD Comms who can be contacted at info@scdcom.com

Unfortunately, because it is not our own Network that the calls are being made from, we cannot do anything directly to stop the calls. We can however withdraw the number range and the inbound service connected to it and we are currently investigating the situation to make a further decision on this.
If anyone can kindly provide any further information with regards to the nature of these calls we would be very grateful. In the meantime we would also like to state that we are happy to contact this company on your behalf, if you do not wish to contact them and request the removal of your details – all requests and information can be sent to nuisancecalls@relaxtelecom.co.uk
