Actually, at the end of the day (25th October), there were five of those on our phone!

Careline services on behalf of Sky. (Marketing call)

This number calls about 4 times a day and there is no one there. Every time I pick the phone up I get the dialling tone.

08433770119 always rings us and then whoever it is they hang up when I answer. It is nothing short of telephony harrassment, I am at home with a very young family and it really drives me insane. Who are they and why do they hang up? At least have the gonads to talk to me!!!! My guess is that it is SKY and they hang up when they hear me answer as opposed to my husband. Thoughts?

These are simply calls which are made by Sky to existing customers to upsell or promote a new offer, the calls are made from contacct centres within the uk.
When customers call custoemer services they can opt out of marketing calls Sky customer services is 08442414141 just ask to opt out of marketing, thats all you have to do!!
Baring in mind it may take a few weeks to filter your details from any pre existing dialling list that have already been compiled.
once you have done you can rest assured any calls you get claiming to be from sky are not legitamate.

This number has called me twice in the last hour. I answered it and was told that there was no-one to take my call !!  These calls are such a nuisance...

this is a message from careline services from sky to protect your box. i actually spoke to one of them. hurray!

Getting daily calls from this number, had it traced to Sky Careline Services, I was advised to report them to Ofcom as they call and hang up after a few seconds, I never answer unknown numbers mobile or landline.

Calling me dozens of times every day..annoying!!!! Say they're SKY but don't recognise the number.  Hanging up now and had number barred.

I've been getting at least one call a day from this number - I haven't answered one yet but if it is Sky - how did they get my mobile number??? I do have Sky but have only ever given them my landline and haven't received any calls on that.

For the last month or so I've had a few calls a day on my landline from this number. I live alone and work so I've never been home to answer one.

I searched for this number today and found this forum because I wanted to know who it was. Very suspiciously I had a call from the number this evening (they've never called outside of office hours before) a few hours after Googling it (I'm on Sky broadband and because of my job I know what data Sky can track and how they can act on it so I am very suspicious. I also registered for the TPS thing this evening just before the call).

Anyway, it was a Sky advisor calling (English accent, nothing suspicious) offering me free Sky HD for 4 months ("I can't afford an HD TV" usually ends that conversation easily).

At the end of the call I mentioned the large volume of calls from that number and he immediately replied with "You won't be called again from this number" and he hung up.

Problem solved I hope.

Jesus they are really starting to get bloody annoying, next time they call I am just going to scream down the phone saying STOP CALLING MEEEEEEEEEE
