The costs incurred are probably from the numerous phone calls they have made. If they want to save money they should stop calling me, especially from mobile phones! Simples!!!!! As I stated before I am just ignoring them now.

They left messages on my anwer machine and I was on the phone for about 5 minutes to the dingbat that called me on the 3/11/11. Hopefully I will not be pestered by TAPA anymore. If I am, I will continue to ignore them.

They told me at the beginning that there had been costs in preparing the documents which had arrived in the post so i would have to cooperate and pay up.

I just got my mobile bill for October deducted from my bank account today. It was higher than usual so I checked the account online. The additional cost had come from calls to TAPA and the Consumer Direct helpline. CD had charged me £7 for a pretty short call.

Good grief! I've only used the landline and I haven't noticed much difference to be honest. Perhaps we should all take TAPA to the small claims court and get OUR costs back! As for costs incurred in the production of their pack - let's see.....10 (badly) photocopied sheets @ .059 per copy = approximately...erm....59p. (Then of course there's the design work........)

If I  ever ring CD again, I will do it from the landline. However I had to ring them during working hours and I'm not allowed to use my work phone except in dire emergency.

Ok register with the TPS if you dont want to recieve calls they can actually do something about sales calls unlike TAPA who are not official and may be a scam

Have to agree with Phil there James. This post has appeared several times now, and it doesn't really get us anywhere. We know all about Anthony Simister but where does it say he is linked with TAPA? We just need to concentrate on stopping TAPA chasing individuals who don't actually owe  them money.

We stupidly registered with this company a couple of years back, paid a one off fee etc.  In the last 2 months they have been harrassing us.  We said that we had emailed them to cancel contract.  Now they want more money, saying that we cant cancel until the account has been settled!   In he last call, i told him (Daniel Curren?) that I know this is a scam. Today he left a message complaining about my "very slanderous comment" and wishes to discuss this commet! We are being harrasses at least once everday by calls from this idiot.  Any suggestions?  Can he do me for my comment??

Do you have proof of the email canceling as this should be good enough. I would contract consumerdirect

If you ignore them for long enough they will probably go away (this is what my local trading standards told me to do). they way the work is to threaten and try to frighten you into paying. Also if they are harassing you then you should report them to the police.

I doubt that very much!! Not sure how you stand with the other. When did you cancel? If it was before the period you paid for ended (1 year?) then you don't owe them a penny. Otherwise I'm not sure. If your one off payment was for a year, then why have they waited until now to contact you? I think you should contact your local Trading Standards office and explain your situation. Don't answer their calls until you've had some advice. (which will probably be don't answer their calls at all!)

Metoo: Apart from a contract renewal fee, what do they claim you owe? When you first registered were you given prices for specific services? Have they done any work for you during the 2 years?
Have you got proof of your cancellation email? Try contacting your local consumer Direct/Trading standards.
