    Thanks for your reply everyone.  Unfortunately, my partner destroyed all the paperwork, as we thought we did not have to use them again.  I do not have the email which I sent over a yar ago.  As they said, it would be a one off payment, we did not think anything else about it. They are now hounding us all day, but we just hang up.  Im a bit  naïve about this sort of issues.

    What lead you to sign up in the first place?  Was another organisation hassling you with calls/demanding money? Have they sent you any paperwork re. the renewal?

    Yes, we were being hassled by lots of companies (scammers) supposedly charity fund raisers etc, they called one day to offer their services.  I believe the owner of TAPA was also involved with these other scammers.  We have not received anything by post, only hassling phone calls.

    In that case, do the same as LizzieM recommended to Metoo above (are you the same person?). Contact your local Trading Standards (may have to be via Consumer Direct as it was in my area) or Citizens Advice before you say anything else to TAPA.

    Hi All,

    Two things I would like to ask is.

    1. Has anyone had an official court letter?

    2. Has the people that had there money back after making a payment (by contacting there bank) had received there money back and has TAPA tried to "dispute this"?

    BTW... Well done all for this forum. I know that you all have given people peace of mind when dealing with the TAPA.

    No court letter. Last communication from TAPA was a phone message approx 10 days ago. Asked me to ring to make outstanding payment. Did not answer phone. Just voicemail message.

    Well Hi Nommiis!! We've missed you lately. Haven't yet heard from anybody who's had an official court letter - there was one who said they had, but think it was from TAPA threatening court. And I don't think anybody has had a fight about getting their money back through the bank - if they had, I think we would have heard it on this site. So - as you have said before, it's all a tactic they use to try and scare people. Don't forget that you're one of the ones giving people peace of mind too - so well done you.

    not received a court letter, but received an email and letter from TAPA threatening court if i didn't pay by last Monday, so just waiting to see

    Hay All,

    I had to take a brake from the TAPA as I was unhealthily getting worked up by them. My wife had to tell me this and she even suggested just paying them to stop them from calling me.  

    Anyway

    It has been an interesting time.

    maybe people should follow what  TAPA says to do with nuisance calls. so instead of saying when you answer " please don't phone again as I am registered with TAPA" and hang up just say "please don't phone again as I am registered with Trading Standards and action fraud" and hang up!!!

    sorry if I was not been clear . In Tapa's welcome pack they tel you to what to say if you get nuisance calls which is " I am registered with TAPA and will be making a complaint against your firm' and then they say quote' terminate the call immediately, do not wait for a response, do not elaborate any further' my supposedly light hearted post was to do back to them as they say we should do to other nuisance calls but say
    "I have registered with Tradings standards and action-fraud and will be making a complaint against your firm" and hang up
