i recieved a call from a company called homeguard security claiming that they can stop unwanted calls for a fee of £69.95 for three years . i foolish said yes and when i went to my bank i discovered that the money was taken . i phoned the number i was given of this compny and was told i will have to write and cancel the agreement before they could refund the money and this is what i did .

A cold call offering to prevent that which they were doing themselves.  Namely cold calling to sell a service!

Just had a call from these people about signing up for stopping nuisance calls. "Only" costs 22 a month - seems people are been given different prices for this.  I politely said "no thanks" and hung up.

strange you were quoted £1.74 a month and i was quoted £21 a month only a few weeks later. Hmmm - dodgy.

Had a call from this organisation, which we listened to, and yes it's all a about getting your money.
Claims that they can stop the nuisance calls from all the firms as they claimed to be a data custodian.
They had postal details and land line, but he started probing for other information (which he didn't get) and then telling me that he needed to take Direct Debt details over the phone.
I refused and told him to send me proper paperwork - he hung up.

These scumbags are scammers you can only block telemarketing calls from within the UK calls from outside the uk cannot be stopped. All you can do is get caller ID. TPS works for UK calls but not for offshore.

There are various call blockers available that WILL block calls from overseas.

I've just had a cold call from secure telephone services and a 'Trevor' was pushy and tried to scam me into buying their protection (from them I think) and had became rude when I did not want to fall for it.  WHY O WHY are they allowed to break the law, our number is registered with TPS ?!    My thought is that a politician or lobbyist has vested interests . . . . . don't laugh, there is a lot of this going on, just read the small print news.  

i was cold called by a company selling a system , for £1.74 a month, which would stop cold calls.  The saleswoman (Danielle) said the TPS did not work.

Had a call from this number and when answered with my company name they hung up. Done some checking, and according to companies house, the director and secretary of this company is a certain Miss Lauren Todd, born in 1985 and is registered at 117 Fenchurch St, London. She also has registered another company called Protect You Ltd. So is ready to just switch over when this company is shut down for breaking the TPS and general cold calling rules.
Have already added the number to my call blocker and look forward to adding anymore numbers they wise to try and use.

It seems they are offering to stop unwanted calls "CPS",.  I to have been experiencing a very high volume of calls from these unsolicited calls, (Nuisance calls) and have found it necessary to purchase a Call Saint, (Amazon) which is the real answer to these calls., It turned out to be the best bit of kit ever.  I was getting upwards of 20 calls a day! And now I have complete control of them, even if I answer I can immediately block the call which cuts them off and prevents any further contact, (if they call again it still appears on the Call Saint but does not ring with full information of time, date of attempted call.  I am now lucky! If I get 2 a week, it is so easy to set up and has free Call Saint, web support.

They have phoned twice today. The first time I heard a woman saying "Hello". I didn't reply. The second time I let the call go to answerphone - No message was left.

This call sounded very plausible until I mentioned that they obviously got my number from the same database as the cold callers which led him to say   Exactly it doesn't work
I'm really glad I stuck to my usual line of "I must speak to my other half first" and didn't fall for his promises

Just received a call from Secure Telephone Service, 0844.887.0608 from someone called Trevor.   Said he understood I had been receiving a high volume of unwanted calls from cold callers, etc. and wanted to help.   I told him I had fixed this problem by having a BT Nuisance Caller Phone Blocker and that i no longer had a problem.  He said  " Oh, you've fixed it then.?"  When I said " Yes", he said that's fine and hung up.   i  knew what to expect from his call as I had had one before and told them to "Get lost".

Had a all today from this number about stopping cold calls.  Do they think we are stupid.

I had a call from this number last week. A girl called Georgina told me that she could sort out the nuisance calls for £2.08 a mth - Then when payment was taken she mentioned £74.99 for 3yrs. I was given a ref no & phone number to call if they still occurred after 14 days. I agreed as I was slightly distracted by my granddaughter (which is no excuse) & gave her details to take payment. When I thought about it I phoned the credit card company to cancel payment which they couldn't do as it hadn't appeared on our records so we cancelled our card so the company wouldn't be getting any money. Since then I have googled this number & company & am glad I did that as it seems very suspect!

Had a call from these comedians and told them I already used the most effective means of stopping nuisance calls, viz, research the company, check with Companies House, identify the principal Director, note his home address, find the home telephone number and post it on sites like this so they get a taste of their own medicine.
