Got cold called today - funnily enough, I actually would be interested in selling my business for the right price. But I am not going to divulge that to a cold-caller - am I!

Followed the above (good) advice and called the 0800 number and politely asked for my number to removed from their calling lists. Pleasant sounding lady took my details, said that she'd remove it immediately, but cautioned me that it might take 24 hours to get removed.

i really don't have time for this at work
as previously said, i'm, trying to dop my job, which means answering phone calls, and some can't get through, when this 'company' are causing a clog on the line.
when i answer, they say nothing and after a few seconds hang up.
SO annoying

I must get a least 30 calls a week from this number and as yet have had anyone on the line. It's unbelievably annoying as I'm a caterer, turning everything off, washing my hands & then nothing.  I have been answering the call and leaving the phone on hold hoping it's costing them a fortune. I have just phoned the 0800 number suggested by other complainees. Fingers crossed!!!!!!!

This is a company called RTA - they are like an estate agents except they buy businesses.  I've just called back on - 0800 393 664 and asked to be removed from the database - hope this works as I am having a nightmare with them also.

rta - they want to buy business' will ask you ioif you are interested in selling your business ! put them on your phonme reject list if you have one !
very rude when you say no - "have i wasted my time?" one agent said to me.

I took a call from these people yesterday.  They asked to speak to the owner of the business.  I said the owner wasn't in (which was true!) and asked what they wanted and if I could help.  They said it was a "business opportunity" but wouldn't say who they were and wouldn't tell me any more.  The guy said they would call back another time.  We don't have Caller ID but I got their number (08450 510598) by dialling 1471.

I've just Googled the number and was directed to this excellent site.  I've now followed the advice give by others on here and phoned 0800 393 664 asking to have our number removed

Just had another call from this company - over a week after I asked to be removed from their database.  I have just called the 0800 number again and repeated the request.

Shall we start a sweepstake on how many more times this will happen?

i told them if they dont take my number off their calling list, i ll ring them up evetyday to waste their time

Stupid phone calls keep hanging up when i answer

Same as everyone above,..so been phoning their 0800 number and just being silent,..got the phone on handsfree,..they've stopped answering after 6 calls...

08450510598- calls so often and hangs-up without speaking.
How does this company think that it going to gain anything with this action?
Please report them to anyone who has the authority to remove their 08450 license.

I also have been hassled by this caller, my number many years ago was a business nearby named rivermill trading, although company went bankrupt many years ago the company has still occasionaly rang, on many occasions i have informed the caller that this is no longer a buisness number and is a private residence but stil they insist on calling every few months, I too have rung the number 0800393664 and the lady on the phone apologised and assured me my number has now been removed from there system, hopefully this will stop anymore anoying phone calls at varied times from them, we wil have to see.

I receive calls like this day after day from this and other companies I tell them I am not available and could I take a message then they hang up

Keep calling an asking for Stuart and Sheila.  Think I'll do the same as the others, just pick up and stay silent and see how long they stay on the line before they get bored.
PS If you know Stuart and Sheila, ask if they have a business for sale : )
