- JACKIEKEEP GETTING CALLS FROM THIS NUMBER, THEN THEY HANG UP WHEN YOU ANSWER. VERY RUDE AND ANNOYING........
- RobI have had the same as everyone else...nuisance calls and even spoken to them to say NO, I dont want to sell my business.
I have just a left a message on the 0800 number asking to be removed from the calling list.... we shall see what occurs. - Daniel JonesHave been having calls from these for the past 3 days 4 or 5 times a day. I ahve rang the freephone number everyday asking to remove our number and they still call.
Is there any other way of stopping them?
Do they not understand what don't want them to call means. - NikI have also had regular calls from these people, they hang up when i ask them politely not to call anymore, and argued with me when i said we dont take unsolicited calls (he said it was not an unsolicited call! i advised him to look the meaning up)
I have found that it is a company called RTA online and rang their 0161 4328181 number and asked them to take me off their list.
I had to tell them my company name (even though their "sales" people clearly didnt know it.) But hopefully I will not hear from these people again.. amusingly the lady I spoke to was "surprised" to hear that I had been hung up on and not been given the number to unsubscribe (not that I subscribed in the first place but that doesnt seem to matter) and she said that the call centre would not have been able to take me off of the list as it is an autodial system they have no control over.
I have put our number on the telephone preferences list so will be reporting them to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO.gov.uk) if I received any more calls as they seem to be registered in the uk so hopefully are subject to our laws....- Caller: RTA
- TJI keep getting calls from these people i have now phoned the free number and said" do me a favour and take my number of your database and stop calling me i am not selling my business " lets see how it goes but if they call again they are going to get some verbal abuse from me big time.
- Jaymuahahaha, thank you very much for their number to the headquarters.
I just text it to all ma mates to yank that number, and i swear everytime i call they just answer but dont say anything!!!!
PRANK PRANK PRANK!!! - TiggyDon't waste your time asking to be removed. I've tried the 0800, the manchester number, and the preston one 3 times. Everytime being promised the calls will stop but they don't.
If you have a windows mobile phone, call block from www.wishsolutions.com is the answer to these muppets and everyone else who thinks the tps regulations don't apply to them. - Dave McGrathRecent soate of calls

- MONICA BINKSHAD 2 CALLS TODAY AND SEVERAL MORE ON PREVIOUS DAYS
- Traceythey called us today and asked if we wanted to sell our business even though they had no idea what we did - really if we did want to sell would we wait for someone on an 0870 no to call us
- josie| 1 replyok...to enlighten you
RTA ia an industrial estate agents. They do not want to 'buy your business' or harrass you or stop you from doing your job. I have dealt with them, and they are privately owned, and have been established for thirty odd years.
They employ a full time, small staff at their own premises to enquire ONLY of the business owner if they are interested in selling their business. If the owner is considering marketing their business, they will be called back to arrange a free appointment to evaluate the company. You can walk away at that point if you don't like what you hear. I thought I could sell my business quicker to a friend and did so, after informing RTA of that. Cost to me? nothing.
If the owner won't take the call, or the owner denies his identity, they will put you on an owner unavailable list. This means you will be phoned until you can be reached or dispositioned another way.
The employee is monitored to ensure company policy is adhered to...ie, not disclosing the exact nature of the call until after the owner is reached. How secure in your job would you feel thinking the boss was interested in selling their company?
If the call is correctly directed to the owner, and taken, the enquiry takes a little under 4 seconds. If the owner is not thinking of putting the business on the market, the company is marked as 'not interested' and won't be approached for three months.
For every five people who slam the phone down, or swear, one will respond with sense, and that person makes it all worth it. So thats what keeps you reaching for the mouse, and that person recieves a professional, prompt service.
Obviously, contact centre employees are human beings with families and children and bills and just want to get on with their tasks for the day. You can be pushed too far, switchboard operators claiming they are the person you need to speak to, while you know you face the sack if you tell them your business (monitoring, remember) or being left on hold for ages, but unable to end the call because of the computer programme, and the usual nastiness that people can be capable of, as is demonstrated on here...seagulls? prank calls?.....and can mark a prospective client as unavailable, knowing they will be repeatedly called that day. This is usually done by people leaving the company, I expect.
Yes, people can ignore training and disposition your call wrongly, or even maliciously, if they are leaving the company, but it doesn't mean everyone is like that, and there are channels you can go down to remove yourself from marketing calls.
I worked in a similar company for many years and loved my job. For every nasty 'go eff yourself' shouted down the phone at me, I spoke to many decent people who understood the nature of the game. Lets face it, we're all just trying to make a living.
As someone who loves customer service and the reward of meeting deadlines, and now have my own company training courteous, professional staff, I remember my first job as a telesales industrial agent, days I wouldn't wish on any one.
In short, be straight, be professional and bear in mind, every cold caller is a family of potential customers.
Thankyou. - Mr P GhasemiThe caller claims to be RTH business Consultants and asking if I want to sell my business. They also purported that they are representing a firm of consultant to buy my business.
I had never advertised my business for sale and no intention of selling.

- SiWe have a mythical employee called Eric. When one of these junk calls comes in we say "I'll put you through to Eric. Please hold." We then put the phone on speaker and mute and see how long they hang on. We are now getting calls asking for Eric. Same procedure ensues.
Unfortunately Eric is now having an affair with Doris (also mythical) and I am worried it might compromise Eric's marriage.
We are now developing a mythical org chart. After all, you've got to run a tight organisation.
Sorry, must go, there's the phone...
"Hello. Yes, I'll put you through to Eric. Please hold!"- Caller: RTA
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Si replies to josieThis is all very interesting, BUT...
These calls waste a lot of time for the recipients and tie up the phone lines. If I want a service I will research it, make contact with a short list of selected companies, and then choose the one I want to do business with. I will do it WHEN I need the service. I do NOT want to be permanently fielding these rediculous unsolicited calls. I don't want to buy a water cooler, sell my business, change my electricity/gas/water supplier, buy a musk yak etc. etc. etc...
The bottom line is that I do not have any sympathy for Josie. Go and get a propper job that doesn't involve annoying people. From the comments left here it seems I'm in agreement with everybody (except Josie) in saying that I would be profoundly happy NEVER to receive another telemarketing call. - Anti-RTA| 1 replyIt seems RTA are very naughty boys. Apparently they get you to pay an up-front (sometimes £thousands) then when they fail to sell your business after years, they take you to court for £thousands more.
Nice.- Caller: RTA

- Anti-RTA replies to Anti-RTAForgot to say.....
