I get called on average four times a day by this number, I now have a competition on how long I can keep them on hold. My current record is 20 minutes, hoping to beat my record today. I also like to leave them talking to the tv. One of the sales reps was trying to buy gmtv for nearly 5 minutes....I know I should just hang up but  cant help myself....

They have rung on numerous occaisions - it is a Manchester based company called RTA. If you call 0800 393664 this goes through to someone at RTA, just tell them to take your number off their dailing list.

Oo, you big tough mofo.  Bet they are WELL SCARED.

They call every day, even thought I have clearly instructed them not to.

Harassment by Telephone

Dear Sirs,

I am writing in relation to the quantity and frequency of telephone calls that I have received from your company, which I deem to be personally harassing.

I have verbally requested that these stop, but I am still receiving calls and I now require all further correspondence from your company to be made in writing only.



Please remove my number from your list.

I am of the view that your continued harassment of me by telephone puts you in breach of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1997.

If you continue to harass me by telephone, you will also be in breach of the Communications Act (2003) s.127 and I will report you to OFCOM, Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading, meaning that you will be liable to a substantial fine.

Be advised that any further telephone calls from your company may be recorded and used in evidence and I expect this harassment to cease immediately.

I see where you were TRYING to go with this Paul...but a) learn to spell, and b) be very careful when you quote the law, that you understand what you are quoting. As RTA are offering a free evaluation and do not ask for any payment, indeed, certainly not debt, you may find yourself the butt of a few jokes among the hushed halls of trading


S40 Punishment for unlawful harassment of debtors.

  1. A person commits an offence if, with the object of coercing another person to pay money claimed from the other as a debt due under a contract he-
         * harasses the other with demands for payment which, in respect of their frequency, or the manner or occasion of making any such demand, or of any threat or publicity by which any demand is accompanied, are calculated to subject him or members of his family or household to alarm, distress or humiliation;
         * falsely represents, in relation to the money claimed, that criminal proceedings lie for failure to pay it;
         * falsely represents himself to be authorised in some official capacity to claim or enforce payment; or
         * utters a document falsely represented by him to have some official character, or purporting to have some official character which he know it has not.

just a quick line to say that OFCOM require all marketing calls to be recorded anyway. Pay no heed to these bollocky rantings. Just grow a pair and say no, thankyou. Register with the TPS every 12 months and get a life.

Imagine going to work every day for these!, i do! not for much longer, better prospects in life! £10,500 Basic to be a bloody nuisance!, some customers are ok but you can sympathise with the ones that go ballistic!!!, each and every person moans about the wages, they try to push you more! and more and more!! some people have been there years! Got a call a day from this number two days in a row now. Will follow Reflector's advice if they keep calling. :)

they phone the company i work for at least 3-4 times a week, and hang up immediately....im now going to waste their time by phoning up and hanging up....[***]

I got a call from this number and a man with a difficult to make out accent was speaking in the background then hung up

Congratulatons RTA, despite strong competition you are currently in first place for most unwanted calls (87) this year. Your achievement is even more impressive given that you have been told on 5 occasions to stop calling me, thankfully now due to a lovely piece of software that blocks your calls I don't have to deal with you anymore

The cheek of the idiot who called - asked me to retire. I told him I'd only just started and wasn't about to sell the company. THen he wants to know when the business started. I told him it was none of his business and that he should retire and stop making a nuisance of himself.

They call at least once a week asking for the business owner, my boss never speaks to anyone who just asks for business owner as usually trying to sell some crap! When I say boss not available can I help they hang up.....I wonder if they are trained to do that or if they are just brain dead chumps! On the few occasions that my boss has answered the phone they are asking if he is interested in selling his business, he always says no yet they keep calling!!!! Anyone know how we can get off their call list?
