    had probs withthis number a while back then it stopped for a while, now seems to have started again. I am registered with TPS, may as well not have bothered to register as it makes no difference whatso ever. TPS Totally Pathetic Service.

    In response to Mikef, setting your details to the edited electoral list and therefore supposedly less visible does not work; I have been on the edited list and TPS (a pointless exercise is ever there was one) and I still receive calls - I suspect that these Muppets use old telephone books or old electoral lists.

    Reply to Jon and his link to Ofcom - have you seen how long it took Ofcom to get to grips with this probem? Six years! OK, the company probably noticed the £750,000 fine, and the cited instances occurred just (?) 15 months prior to the fine, but SIX YEARS!!!

    my mum has received 3 calls today from this number. she is 92 and on her own, but as she is a bit deaf she can't understand them and just hangs up. the trouble is they are pestering her and sometimes she has difficulty getting to the phone. I have an answerphone and always listen to who's calling before answering. these type of callers never leave a message.

    Unsolicited Call about house insulation, was polite but as soon as I mentioned TPS became agressive "Yeah Yeah, whatever! whatever!" tried to make out not selling anything etc... just put phone down.
    Lots of these calls, when I'm registered and the statement "Not Selling" is both untrue and fraudulent, they sell your details to another company who then do the "so called" work for "additional fees" beyond the grant amount.

    If they didn't make money they wouldn't call... only way to make money is to sell you something!

    I've reported the number again, not that it seems to do much good... two phone lines & I get this 3+ times a day on each line! madness...

    numerous calls from this number, let my 4 year old have a long chat with them the other day, nothing since. Highly frustrating to get repeated sales calls

    got a call from these people on this number  01472814736. I am TPS registered but it doesn't seem to stop this type of call from people of Indian sub continental origin with UK sounding names from calling. They are a bl**dy nuisance!

    TPS  not worth a light, if it was, something would be done about these types of calls. Someone is getting our money under false pretences

    I have just had a call from a gentleman who, when questioned, said his name was Gregory. I asked what company was he with.......Energy Grant Advisors based in Leamington Spa Warwick. I had a similar call yesterday and the gentleman, called Steven called me a fxxxxxx selfish bxxxxxx. I am disabled and housebound, and my husband has been away on business these past two days. I was very upset and was shocked. I phoned our local police station who were very sympathetic and told me to contact BT and get 'caller display' and also there is a way that BT can bar up to 10 telephone numbers, that you give them. I haven't done that yet. The police cannot do anything about these cold callers if they are calling from another country. I feel harassed and upset, as they are now invading my privacy.I wonder how they would feel being pestered four or five times a day. It should be illegal. They should be prosecuted.

    I answered the call for my mum and dad. I asked for their number so I could ring them back but she said they did not have one. Alarm bells were ringing.  I told her I found that strange for a government grant advisory service. I told her we were not interested and hung up the phone but politely. 2 seconds later she called me straight back and said I did not understand what she was talking about and she said I could speak to her manager.
    I hung up the phone, 2 seconds later I got a call from the supposed manager. These are not the actions of a normal and legitimate company. I work in a call center and we would never ring customers back if they have expressed they did not want to speak and a manager would never call a customer back 2 seconds after the customer has hung up. It is obvious they are not working in a legitimate business.

    I told him to call back tomorrow to speak to my dad but my true motive was to do some research into them.

    Nothing can be done to stop these calls , at best they will stop for a while but then continue , those people who are lucky enough to afford the £100 trucall device are only stopping the calls for themselves which means more calls for those that are less well off such as the housebound disabled and elderly , i am not on the council register , registered with tps and my phone automaticaly withholds my number and have never given my number to anyone except two family members so i have to conclude that my telephone company have sold my number on to third party companies for profit.

    From the above do I understand that Andrew & Mike have put these cold callers on a system that will cold call them persistently, if so, well done national honours await AND how do you do it?  

    PS I don't answer the phone if I am busy so it rings forever or until the idiots give up;  if I do answer I can usually tell if it is a "sales" call and if I want entertainment play along and waste their time, it can be fun.  When I don't answer I can 1471 later to see who it was.

    All my friends know I don't answer the phone so email me or instant online chat.

    At 2039 hrs today Thursday 30th August 2012, my husband took a call from someone from a company called Nationwide....(something or other) (we later found out was from the number 08451113111) who started talking about insulation of roofs and walls.  My husband said that we did not like cold calls at our home.  The caller persisted in giving him details of his "wares".  My husband said that we should not be getting cold calls and that the caller was invading our privacy.  Caller then started to argue.  My husband then said he would report him.  The caller then said that we should take out our phone if we didn't want to get calls!!!
