I have been getting these calls for some time now and they wont give up ringing. I know its a scam but where do we go to report them and will something be done about them!!!!!

they've called again now and again the OH said not to all again and take us off there list !!!

Just got a call from this number. No talking, but I could tell that the phone was answered and "live" for a few seconds. Then hung up.

I work for a PLC company who install loft and cavity insulation every year these companies get awarded grants to install homes, it is highly discounted way for the customer to have it done.  They don't call because desperate for work they just need to spend the government grant

I've just had a similar call from this number - man said he was my local governent officer for government grants , roof insulations etc - told them I'd have to speak to the landlord so he gave me their webite www.nesuk.com  I said that he couldn't be anything to do with the government as their websites are .orgs!  He gave up when I said I'm partially deaf and kept asking him to repeat everything!  Lovely Welsh accent though!

Called but no message -  also on TPS. Will complain.

Just been hit by 08451113111 call at 8.35 pm.  Caller asked me if I was Mrs ..... I asked who wanted to know and why.  He said he was ... from ... regarding Grants for Insulation work in our particular road!  I said Congratulations for being at work at 8.30 at night.  He put the phone down on me.  We are registered for TPS.  We will also complain.

So do they offer to come and fit insulation?  Is there some way we can waste loads of their time - such as by allowing them to send someone round - then not answering the door

In my case, they think the phone no still belongs to a house 20 miles away - so I wouldnt even have to not answer the door.  Have a feeling it wont be so easy to get them to call though :(

Ansafone took call. I did not answer but recorded sounds possibly a busy house I thought? Reading this forum I now know they were just wasting my message time as they said nothing and rang of after several minutes.

You clearly work for the company there is no other reason that you would waste time in writng such a well thought out and lenthy post.

also, heat escapes from all houses:

"you can tell if snow on your roof melts, if it does heat is escaping"

laughable.

there is no way this has anything to do with the government, do you really think they would hang up in the middle of calls if it was. it is some dodgy sales company selling some dodgy product

I keep getting calls asking for the people that used to live in my house ten years ago. Its a real pain. When i asked who's calling she hung up. They are very rude. I need to stop theese types of phone calls.

Had a bunch of calls this month so I finally called them back. When I said I was on TPS register they said that mistakes happen and they'd take me off their database. Seems their database has a lot of problems judging by the TPS registered people commenting here.

They started 'phoning me on monday.  I haven't answered yet.

Thanks for the heads up, I shan't bother answering if they call again.  I'll never understand companies like this.  If they're legit why don't they leave a message?

Well you say your husband works in the industry.  Then you must be fully aware that it is ILLEGAL to make marketing calls to phone lines registered with TPS.

so rather than giving us all a load of blurb about who they are what they are doing etc and  how ur husband is involved try telling THEM about the legality of their actions.

and DO NOT use this forum as an opportunity to make a sales pitch on behalf of the company.

Oh and for everyone out there, it is total nonsense about this company saying oh its on our database.  
All registered and legal companies that do any telemarketing are fully aware that there is a legal requirement to check the TPS database BEFORE calling numbers.

Just give them abuse and that you will report them and push for them to be prosecuted if they ever call again.

Gemma Alan rang from Nationwide Energy Services asking whether I had taken up the government grant for home insulation. She said they worked very closely with the government but were a private company. I said I was a member of the TPS and did not want unsolicited marketing calls. Gemma knew what the TPS was and said I needed to keep registering to stop the calls. She said that my details were taken from a number of databases and would not tell me which ones. Apparently Gemma has removed me from their database now so I will not get any further calls. Where have I heard that before. Time for a complaint to the TPS and Ofcom and a call to my local council.

This number called me.  I told them I was registered with the TPS but she said they weren't trying to sell anything, so I presume that she considered that didn't count!  The calls usually come 'thick and fast'.  Why they would think you would want a stranger engaging you in a) coming to your house when you didn't want them to and b) why you would 'form a contract' over the phone with a stranger I have no idea.

Called in evening (20.38).  Caller identified himself as Matthew Thomas (with Welsh accent) of Nationwide Energy Services.  This outfit does have a website, is based in Cardiff and has a freephone contact no. 0800 633 5769 which the caller also gave me (he could have got it from the web himself!).
Since I am in need of loft insulation I agreed to an appointment for a surveyor to visit in a few days (a name was given) but before he calls I want to assure myself that this company is genuine and that this is not just a way of getting inside my house to "case the joint".
