- mbThey just called me again (see my earlier report above) and hung up as soon as I answered.
- Sandra LeadbetterToday I have rec 3 calls from DWS claiming that my credit card company owes me £1600.00 in compensation. Refered me to web page www.dwsclaims.com. Their tele 0844 979 7393 ext no. 3145. I declined their help. Correction. I have JUST rec 4th call from DWS. I advised caller of this web page. Asked was the call recorded ... Caller advised all calls recorded by a Government body ? The £250 retainer was stressed again. They stated that they have previously contacted me by post ?The TV and daily newspapers and magazines are full of Ads for PPI claims. So if I felt I had a claim I would deal with it myself. I feel that the Government should be involved with the investigation of any PPI claims ... so everyone can get paid back fully and fairly IF they have illegally paid PPI.

- maggy replies to Jill Robinsondwshave contacted me repeatedly im investigating them hence arrival at this site. i cant find any government legislation re valid claims for unsolicited credit card increases which dws state came into effect in may 2011. the uk credit card association state the government backed down on initial proposal for a complete ban on unsolicited increases. their guidelines state failure to follow does not give rise to any right of action. I wont be giving dws my card details - how do i know what amount of cash they will take- they want to charge £250-refundable according to them. im 77 they probably think me an easy target.
- BluntI was called today by a lady with a welsh accent saying that my credit card company had increased my credit limit without my permission. She said that this was illegal and that they could claim compensation of £1,200. I asked if it would cost me anything to proceed & she said that there would be a deposit required before she could carry on to which I just hung up.
- ANGRYPLS NOTE I WAS CONTACTED BY THESE TODAY, SAYING THAT THEY CAN GET ME £1200 IN COMPENSATION FOR MIS-SOLD CREDIT CARD LIMIT. HOWEVER, HAVING READ THE REVIEW, I DON,T TRUST THEM. I ASKED THEM FOR A REFUND, FIRST THEY HUNG UP. WHEN I RANG BACK THEY KEPT ME ON AGES, BUT REFUSED TO GIVE ME A REFUND. THEY SAID I WOULD HAVE TO WAIT FOR MY INFORMATION PACK AND THEN WAIT 14 DAYS. I AM ANGRY, AS I RANG THEM HALF AN HOUR AFTER GIVING THEM MY CARD DETAILS. I DOUBT I WILL EVER GET REFUND. AVOID!!!

- pc 49 , replies to Mr A Stone| 4 repliesGet onto your credit card company , give them the details and tell them to reject the transaction as it could be fraud .
- Anon replies to pc 49 ,My father, aged 83, was contacted by them recently. He's on TPS and shouldn't have even contacted. He was pressurised into agreeing to put down a deposit of £250 being advised that he'd get back £1,200 or more. I've contacted them asking for a refund but am being told they can't give me any information owing to confidentiality. I suspect they'e a complete scam!
- NickyI have just been contacted by the same company dws claims. It all sounded legit on the phone, but after reading comments on this website had second thoughts, tried to contact dws, but get through to answer machine message only. Contacted my credit card, who cannot help as transaction has already gone through. They cannot refund/stop payment. I have put a hold on the card so it cannot be used again. The only other course for action the credit card company can suggest is to go through to their desputes department if I cannot get any response from DWS.
Has anyone actually received anything from this company- Caller: DWS Claims
- juneweston| 2 repliesHi there, i signed up with them in october and already receive my money back for my mis sold ppi on my loan. They also removed £3,256 from my credit card balance also. I think there are just too many moaners in this world and as soon as 1 person sees a negative comment about a company, then everyone starts to complain.
And there are alot of other companies out there who charge alot more money upfront and on the bank end then what DWS does.- Caller: DWS
- billyfish replies to KT0024I recieved aphonecall from DWS LTD to make a claim on my CC
they took £250 out of account barclays think its a scam blocked card to stop any futher withdrawels from card dont know if this will help i tried phoning DWS but line is dead guess ive lost my £250m7a4 - susanjust got off the phone with DWS claims after they told me 'my details have been flagged on their system' for a refund on mis-selling. i never trust cold-calls, and always put them on the defensive and ask the questions, like 'which details, how did you get them, who am i speaking to?' etc... he kept asking about loans but I questioned back, 'what information do you have on these loans'? of course he didn't have anything, since I haven't had loans, so he moved on to credit agreements and told me of all the money i could recover from credit cards. a pretty safe bet, as most people have credit cards! so we talked, and I said that I did have cards where the credit limit went up without signing an agreement, then got all his sales patter. it sounded legit, but i NEVER trust cold calls about financial services, especially when they want to do you a big favour. Anyway, we were on the phone till 6.30, then I heard a big cheer in the background and someone shouting 'give yourselves a hand, we reached.....today' and everyone clapped and shouted. I joked to him, 'I guess you must have reached your targets today'.. so def a selling scam, DON'T TOUCH IT WITH A BARGE POLE, you'll never see your money again, sorry to all those who gave over their credit cards, let it be a lesson never give details over the phone, maybe this experience has saved you a lot more in the long term cause you won't do it again.

- lynn replies to juneweston| 1 replything is, if you were genuinely mis-sold ppi, you could claim it back yourself, it's not rocket science, you don't need to spend £250 and give away 10%. would be interesting to know a bit more about the credit card balance, but well done for getting some money back. it will give hope to some people here.
- C. LofthousePhone calls from DWS claims every day, saying i can claim PPI back, sound very offical on phone, but very vague on card details. Chequed out on net, and web site very good, but company details seem a mismatch of other offical company details. Would not touch them with a barge pole.

- juneweston replies to lynnI already know you can claim through your lenders, but I have had so many in past that I don’t remember all. Also I have tried before on this main one but the bank them self told me I had not been miss-sold ppi. So I went ahead with DWS as they look into all of my finances for me, in which I then received compensation back and I am very happy. I also didn't have to do any work at all.
At the end of the day we all know they are in it for sales, so maybe some of the people you came across wasn’t very good, but the gentleman I spoke to was very well mannered and knew what he was talking about. I also didn’t feel any pressure from him at all as I took about 2 weeks to decide to go ahead.
Their number to call is 0844 9797 390 if you would like I could give u the person who I spoke with. - k fentonRepeated calls telling me that my credit cards have been increased without my agreement/knowledge and that they can easily obtain £1700-2500 in compensation "easily". Plus all debts on my credit card will be "cleared".
Charlatans...beware. Company is DWS in Chepstow and is owned by someone you really don't want to do business with. Long record of legal claims against this company by people who have been effectively duped out of £250.00.
Nice to listen to these guys and waste their time. Spent somt 7 minutes on the telephone and could hear cheering and clapping in the background. This activity takes place whenever a rep cons someone out of £250.00. make sure it's not you they are cheering for!- Caller: DWS

- k fenton| 5 repliesby the way. Those people leaving positive comments here may well be employees of DWS. Think about it.
- Caller: DWS
- Shane Cook replies to k fenton| 3 repliesThey could well be posts from employees but then saying that, surely you could be an employee/ employer from a competing claim company? Your logic is illogical my friend.
Anyway I don’t see what all the fuss is about anyway, claim or don’t claim its the banks who will have the last laugh at the end of the day anyway.. - k fenton replies to Shane Cook| 1 replyAnd what company might I be acting on behalf of? The whole PPI industry is a scam. Anyone with half a brain can claim on their own behalf.
No, my logic is not misplaced. My comments re' this comapny might well be applied to many operating in this area. - Shane Cook replies to k fentonAt the end of the day, anything that is based in a call center is a sales environment. Yes they are probably working on commission, but at the end of the day don’t mean they don't do any work or are a scam. At the end of the day there are companies out there who charge a lot more up front and most of them charge a lot more on the back end. If they were such a bad company there would be a lot more negative feedback on the web about them which there isn't.
I'm not defending them, but it seems this country just loves to be negative about everything. As for going to the banks, it’s already been in the papers recently that a lot of the banks were actually fobbing off a lot of their own clients telling them they don’t have claims to be made and using stalling tactics. Also a lot of the banks have been taking months and months to pay out after they have already told them they have an amount coming to them which i experienced myself with Lloyds.
