I have recently opened a business and got a call from them asking if we wanted to put an advert in their journal, exclusively to us! No other play centres would be advertised! My sister said she wanted to heck them out before paying their invoice (emailed to me previously) and we have just found this website! I am so annoyed right now! I can't believe I fell for this scam. They are
Certainly well trained on the telephone.
Will report to Trading Standards and Watchdog! Will email them now telling them to cancel, we are no longer going with them.
STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY, ONE HUGE SCAM!!

The domain name is registered in the wirral, only a few yards from where the sort code of the bank account puts it. The London address is just a virtual office so you won`t find him there- its run by capital offices.

Yes I was approached by 'Community Pubishing' a phone call first with a mobile number and then following a conversation I was given contact details for design team. This was then followed quickly with headed letter giving amount to pay and Lloyds TSB bank details. I recently contacted them for the CD of art work and to question where the publication had got and was given plausable reply but the CD which did arrive was what any of us could produce and not even in a plastic sleeve! A lesson well learned I think but expensive.

I will be getting in touch with their bank tomorrow.
crime stoppers doesn't deal with this and the 03001232040 www.actionfraud.org.uk shall be contacted tomorrow as their website is a bit of a joke and their lines are closed this late at night.

    Thanks!

I have fallen for this in as much as I agreed to it and checked it out after grrrrr! I have not paid anything to them but they have threatened to lodge my company name with a bad debt company. Will they actually do this or are they all hot air. Can not afford to lose any money but they are causing me to lose sleep!
Where is the best place to report this to and how did others get them to leave them alone?

I really shouldn't worry about them. Best way to get rid of them is to ask them the questions on the previous page provided by Gem I think. If they can't answer them then they back off, or at least they did in my case.

After questioning them and repeatedly telling them they will get nothing from me unless they provide me with suitable proof that they will deliver their end of the deal or take me to court etc. I've had nothing back from them.

If your reported to a credit check company there is a system in place to remove it or to leave a note on the credit report stating it was a scammer or whatever the circumstances was. There are only 3 main companies that most places use if you need to find out if they have or not and you can get a copy for £2 by law.(companies are equifax, experian and 1 other I can't remember)

Also, if you haven't accepted the terms and conditions on the website and only did it over the phone then the verbal contract is a waste of time as they need to state all of them in the phone call for it to be valid (think of loan companies giving you the massive amounts of terms and conditions over the phone but no one ever wants to hear but they oh so insist on doing so and you understand why).

    Dear All,
I too was about to 'pay up'. I was supposed to have a three quarter page of blurb about myself and my small biz...they were looking for teachers and 'I was just right'! Ha.  I didn't tick the agree section on the online form.  But, yesterday,  28th April 12, they said my next stage was to go to a Rachel's email address to confirm everything. Actually she sounded very friendly and when I said I felt there worried about signing up, she said, 'would you like to cancel' and so I did and received an email from her cancelling.

I was just going to post everything back to them but now I will take it to my local police.

Guy who originally phoned me was useless as I saw through is pressureising and rudeness when I couldn't find a header. He kept saying get your daughter to find it for you!  What a cheek, as though I am 103yrs old. As some of you said..silly f...er!! Ha!

Hi Sorry to say these guys are still operating today 30th April 2012!
They told me the leaflet/mag would go into every home in our area including schools and colleges.
So as a new business you can understand why I was so keen to agree to a £89 ad.
I had 3 calls all together. First was a rough sounding sales guy (proberly the dodgy owner) then he must pass on to the well spoken pros. 2nd call was a guy asking for email address and saying that I was being recorded and would I be happy to go ahead but my word would be deemed contract. I said yes. third call was a lady called rachel from design who wanted a password for the log on to my design.

Sure enough the emails came through but it was my design proof that made me suspicious. Previously they said they would gather info from my web site and use my logo, telephone numbers and website etc. But wgen my proof came through it was a dodgy looking logo not resembling my logo at all. This set me off looking at the internet and I came across this site.

I am lucky I did not pay, I am sorry if you have paid you have Lost you money.

To get out of the con read everything on this site and put it together in a email. mentioning police and this site etc.

I did get a cancelation email and they said they are a honest Publication!!! But why have you not had one through your door?

    I hope this helps you.

The number they also used to call me was with held

Hello everyone, Looks as though they are still at it on the 1st of May. I got a call from them and they offered me a good deal on a full page spread, said it would go to all the houses in my county and that they got my details off the local council as I was registered as a new business. I had two calls, the second one was meant to be recorded but when I started asking questions they sounded unhappy. I have since received a e-mail off them with a invoice....I will not be paying as after reading this site. It frustrates me that when a honest person is trying to start a business in these trying times you get F**kers like these. Can anyone advise me on how to report this ?
