same as above in 2013 but when they rang us in 2014 for another year told them what rubbish the box was and cancelled it they have just rang me now 23/07/15 and told me they have taken £98 out of my bank and I told them that they had better not have and and they started calling me a bloody idiot amongst other things but rang bank and they have not taken anything out yet but check in a couple of days because they can't stop the payment but they will refund my money if it does go out

Just got a call from a company claiming to be able to stop unwanted marketing calls. They call themselves CPS, a with-help number. They rang my six times in the space of 5 mins. Total scam. And this is from Britain. Why does the law not defend us? Prosecute the workers and the company. Thieves and liars. Watch out there is a SCAM about.

If they are from the UK, bearing in mind that numbers can be "spoofed" to look as if they are, they can only be stopped if people report them.  A recent "Which" survey showed that only  2% of people who complained about nuisance calls actually reported them.  The Information Commissioner's Office can fine this type of company up to £500,000.  You can report them using the ICO web site and it only takes minutes.  If everyone complaining on here reported this type of call then something could be done.

These scam merchants got hold of my 93 year old Mother told her they would stop nuisance calls. Somehow they got hold of her bank details & then she showed me her bank statement £79 been taken out of her pension that was in bank. I phoned bank they are still trying to trace these scum!!!!!

Just before Christmas I had a call from a company called Telephone Protection Solutions of Lansdowne Crescent, Bournemouth. They used the phone number 0843 557 5447. A few years ago I made the mistake of paying the company around £80 for a call prevention service. They stated the service would stop unwanted calls from outside the UK. I am already registered with the real TPS - Telephone Preference Service - which is free but used to only stop UK callers. So I thought it would be useful to stop unwanted calls from outside the UK.  Seemed to be working OK, but then after about a year they rang back for a second payment as they were now 'implementing' the service to stop non UK calls.
They NEVER originally stated there were 2 payments, so I told them not to take any more payments and not to ring again. Heard from them about 6 months ago, and then just before Christmas. Each time I told them I believed they were a scam and to go away.
They insisted they had my payment details and would take more payments – they can’t, that credit card expired.
However, today a company called Call Prevention Service of 15 Waterloo Road, Poole, Dorset, rang to say that they had just taken a payment from my bank account and quoted information that they only could have gained from access to my conversations with Telephone Protection Solutions.
When I told them I did not have a relationship with them – ie had never been contacted before, they tried to convince me that I had made a mistake and had set up agreements with 2 different companies.  They gave me a non-existent website – www.callpreventionservice.org and the above address, which seems not to exist.
So Call Prevention Service are obviously the same scammers as Telephone Protection Solutions, both operation from the Bournemouth area.  No idea which number they ring from – it was withheld, of course !

Contact your bank immediately to dispute the transaction, get name(s) & contact number and keep details of all conversations, time of call and what is said/agreed. If bank won't help, tell them you wish to escalate, including making  formal complaint to the FCA. This referral costs your bank around £500 a pop, and they have to pay regardless of the outcome. You should consider reporting to police/ActionFraud & get crime reference number. Also consider Trading Standards their area, & your local CAB for free & impartial advice.

Just received a call from cps and was asked for my bank details I refused to give that information and hung up,within seconds had another call claiming that he was senior manager at cps and assured me that my card details would not be used until I gave the OK I hung up again and once again the phone rang and because I have an elderly mum who isn't well I answered once again cps on the line, this time I politely told him to go away and not to call again.Talk about nuisance calls that took the biscuit!!

They are scammers - they call me every day. Shame they can't prevent their own nuisance calls.

Just had a call from Call Prevention Service, claiming that they were working in conjunction with the Telephone Prevention Service.  I'm so glad I keep a referee's whistle beside the phone ;-)  Someone ended up with earache, I'm sure!

Got 2 calls from this service saying contract was due for renewal @ £96.90 as existing deal was at an end.   Wife said needed to talk to me, that's why 2 calls.  I've no memory of this deal at all.    Phone number they gave ,03303222908 is useless.
