KW - K W| 11 repliesTo all Readers the below information is from an ex employee of Express Law Ltd Doncaster. We want to thank Miss Z for having the courage to come forward. We have kept their identity anonymous to prevent any reprisals. We have re-listed this post as a reminder to the public how these companies operate, please be aware.
Hi KW,
I had only been under the employment of 'Express Law LTD' for a month, when I decided to do some research and I was horrified to discover what I did. I did work, on the Telesales area and none of us were ever told anything like this, they were so.... convincing!
I did find it odd that I got the job a bit too easily and when they only had 4 vacancies... they employed all 12 of us that applied. I can't express enough how much of this was hidden from us!
I will tell everything I can from the 'inside' in order to help others. After only 6 hours of training they threw us on the phones to start calling people, I did feel 6 hours way to short for us to be giving advice on Will's, POA and Property trust.
During our training we were told of the man (Gerald Barton) who had scammed all his clients and when his team realised this, they pulled away creating Express Law, they never mentioned all the other companies.
We ourselves were then scared into making Will's with the company to protect our children, they scared us saying if we died our babies would go into care not their father unless we did a will. Is this why 80% of the staff are young mums?
Another thing that did confuse me, they took our bank details but pay us cash in hand.
They hire and sack staff every 6 week, no exaggeration.
They do treat the telesales well in a sense of regular breaks, weekends off, good pay, refreshments... but it all felt unstable and like they were keeping us sweet. Happy staff don't ask questions, right?
One thing that always stood out to me was we would have to lie to client;s, for example we were made to tell them we have a database that shows everyone who is eligible to their consultant meeting, if they ask.. when in reality we are handed torn out pages of a phone book and a ruler to go down calling the public one by one.
Here's the script we were made to learn and believe
also,
''Hello is that Mr Smith?
Hello, my name is …....... and I'm calling from express Law today, were
just calling everyone in your neighbourhood to raise awareness of the
community care act, Have you hear of this before?
Well its been on the news lately so you may have seen it
it's where councils are selling people's homes to pay
their residential care fees and we feel strongly against it, I
don't know how you feel about it?
Right well we have a local chap in your area who's giving
out free legal advice to your neighbours and we just want
to know when is best for you? ''
What you must understand is these people made us believe we were generally helping the public, they even scammed us into buying there wills also. What also annoys me is there giving Doncaster a bad name.
They put a huge amount of pressure onto us in order to get the appointments... even for a telesales company. Also we were never asked to sell anything per say, it was only our position to get the appointments. So often we would get asked how much do things cost by the receiver, but we could never tell them because we were never informed of the prices.
Another strange incident occurred when one of my colleagues came across your site and she questioned the management about some of the issues brought up, she was lectured and told that 'If you click on such site's giving us bad press then the higher on google it goes' and then they forbade her from talking about it. Which is what edged me to take a peek.
Also I remember you saying that such scams had been on the BBC The One show, and they had warned people against them. Funny thing Miss A…..... herself mentioned it to us, she called a meeting and told us if a customer says they saw the show, that we were to say ' We are not a telemarketing scam, we are member of The Will Writers Society'' , It seems that every time you guys post a warning or new angle, they come up with a defence to tell us on the phones, so if customers challenge us we have a ready response.
But I will warn some consultants may not even know they giving unworthy Wills it might be just their job to do the pitch, I just don't want to bad mouth anyone who could be genuinely innocent. For example I was on Telesales and I had no idea about any of this... just like I can guarantee none of the other girls do.
If you have any question about the company please ask I want to help! feel free to use the information to help people
Oh and another thing we were told that we had to keep track of own appointments and Write them in our diaries... but when we filled appointment sheets out they were confiscated from us and they said it was company property. Is that odd? It's clearly not confidential....
Regards Miss Z

KW - K WTo all Readers: Directors Andrew Young and Martin Smith have liquidated Express Law of Doncaster, relinquishing from all responsibilities to their clients. Beware as they have started new companies Synergy Legal which was Synergy Law. https://www.duedil.com/company/08294102/synergy-legal-limited
Albeit under the names of Kay Marie Morley and Robert Mosely who is a banned Solicitor. http://www.synergylegal.org.uk/ We can prove that they're spurned from Express Law, steer well clear of them.
Their head Consultant Andrew Hesketh has started Prestige Law also in Doncaster.

Again steer well clear.
Thankyou for reading.
KW - Honeysuckle replies to K W| 1 replyYes, all that Ms Z says goes on 2day. Same script, same pitch, same as ... Young girls are being persuaded into this work without knowing what it is all about and in turn, they persuade clients to buy their products.
The pay masters persuade and effectively control the workers. Sweeteners every week to the workers - cash, alcohol, beauty products or more expensive gifts if sales targets are met or achieved. I know because I was the same as Ms Z - I left because I could not stand what was going on. Oh and if the Director is away/off/ill, there are no wages paid - that is how shambolic the company is ..... I thought legit companies had payroll sections. Oh and if u r really desperate, the company will allow u to be paid into another employees bank account. That doesn't sound right at all to me. But it happened whilst I was there. Also, the landline phones were cut off and the tele-callers rang out on mobiles to prospective clients. Solid company ?? - K W replies to HoneysuckleHoneysuckle Thankyou for your comments, hopefully the clients are becoming aware of rogue traders in the Will Writing industry and are being much more cautious, shame the young people desperate for work are still unaware, it needs to be spread on social media sites.
If the company are using mobiles it sounds a desperate situation. Moreover if they are still trading as Express Law the authorities need to be made aware of this.

KW - Dave R| 20 repliesApologies I posted this on another thread as well but this one looks more recent
There is far too much of this thread to read through but suffice to say I just found out my 90 year old father paid Express Law Doncaster (Mr Poucher) to set up a trust in 2011. Not sure who with as me and my sister know nothing of this, and as far as I can trace he's paid the money and got nothing for it.
Tried ringing the phone lnes are dead, the websites are gone, do we have to write it off to experience or these dregs still around somewhere or what else can I do? - K W replies to Dave R| 8 repliesDave R Thankyou for your comments, Express Law are still trading but under the new name of Synergy legal, http://www.synergylegal.org.uk/services/wills/ Please feel free to email us at wewillgivefreeadvice@hotmail.co.uk for further advice.
Thankyou for reading.
KW, - M Thomas replies to K W| 3 repliesThe only Synergy Legal I can find are members if the IPW. Has this firm cleaned up it's game?
- K W replies to M Thomas| 2 repliesM Thomas Thankyou for your comments. We can confirm that these people have ran Nationwide Legal Services http://blogs.mirror.co.uk/investigations/2008 ... vices-will.html, Wills and Trusts UK LTD of York, Minster Legal Services (UK) Ltd of Gainsborough http://www.insolvencydirect.bis.gov.uk/piudb/ ... UK%29%20Limited and Express law Ltd of Doncaster http://www.express.co.uk/finance/crusader/337 ... dedicated-carer.
Relinquishing all responsibilities to the consumer of all the above Companies by dissolving/voluntary winding up the companies within about two years of starting them.
It's highly unlikely that they have turned for the better by simply changing the name again from Express Law to Synergy Legal of Doncaster.
When they were Express Law, they were registered with the Society of Will Writers for a short period until their membership was revoked, being a member of a well known organisation does not change the people running them or safeguard the consumer.
Thankyou for reading.
KW - M Thomas replies to K W| 1 replyI'm a solicitor and I've had direct experience of Express Law. They were completely and utterly corrupt. They charged my client £2000 for a 'bespoke trust' which was completely useless to her, and which was riddled with errors. They sent her all of the property transfer forms with no instructions, and when I challenged them I got nothing but smug one line letters in return. I have however have a lot of respect for the IPW and so I hope Synergy's membership is revoked sooner rather than later.
- K W replies to M ThomasM Thomas, Thankyou for your comments we have proved to the IPW that Synergy Legal are the same people that ran Express Law of Doncaster and don't understand why they have not had their membership revoked.

KW - d111 replies to K W| 2 repliesHi. I have recently got a job working for alana bension and andrew young. The company is based in lincoln. It is selling wills, and property trust. They really seem nice and convincing. Is this a scam co.
- abboj replies to d111I should say they are, if you want any of these services go to a reputable solicitor, I fought Express Law on behalf of my Brother in 2011 after advice from KW, took awhile but we won our case & received his money back. Andrew Young was connected to this company, they close the companies down & create new ones. Beware.
- billi-jo crossley replies to Dave R| 10 repliesI have just been fired from this company but i am looking into showing them for who they really are they are now trading under a company called direct law same people same place but i will name and shame these as how they work is a joke and how they treat the staff more of a joke
- b replies to billi-jo crossley| 9 repliesi want to make other people in the doncaster and lincoln area to not work for these companies they are all ran by the same people they just change the name but still scamming people the name in lincoln is charter legal and doncaster direct law the more of us that make a stand to these people they should not be able to trade
- dj replies to b| 8 repliesHi.
I have been in touch with charter legal and have nothing but thanks. They are really professional and the legal consultant is really helpful. Please ignore all previous comments. - Nan replies to dj| 7 repliesSo, we should believe you? These people have been running the same disgusting scam under different names for years. Several of them have been imprisoned, some disbarred. They have been the subject of National Press investigations and been exposed on TV. But we should believe you? I am not sure who are the most disgusting parasites, those crooks who con the elderly out of their life savings or things like you who try to pretend they are honest businessmen to try and fool even more of the elderly.
- dj replies to Nan| 1 replyI can only go by my experience. And as I said I found them to be professional and helpful and I have recommended them. Can I ask why u talk bad of them
