I have today received 3 calls telling me I have a BT SMS text message from 0800 197 7081. The callers number is 0845 602 1111.
I was asked to key 1 to listen to the message. I hung up each time.

Came into work this morning to find sixteen missed calls from 08456021111.
There were two calls a couple of minutes apart every hour between 15:45 and 22:45. It's a good job this wasn't calling my home phone, I certainly wouldn't be happy getting all those calls on a Sunday.

I'm not calling the number but a colleague's phone has been targetted in the past with recorded messages reading out an SMS that says to call to listen to a voicemail message, which doesn't exist and obviously charges you for calling.

Oh my God, all you people freakin out, this is what happens when one of your friends text your house phone number by mistake, all it is doing is reading out the message, you should be moaning at your friends not BT for helping you get the message that was intended for a mobile phone

had calls from ths number, its a BT sms service that holds text messages from mobiles.
the message was from a sky tv mobile number letting me know one of my services was connected,

it was a legitimate call, but not all of them maybe.

You can apparently cancel receiving these annoying text to voice messages by calling BT on 0800 587 5252. (Its an automated service)

Choose option 5 and this will stop text to voice messages being sent to your phone number.

I have just done it and the BT message (yes another robot voice) told me all messages would be cancelled within 20 minutes.

I'll let you know if its has not worked, else assume that it has.

08456 021111 called just now at 02:41am. Calling back confirmed the SMS bt service, however the number that apparently sent me the text was a guy called Brent on 0791 820000.

Work that out.

Correction. The message came from 07961 820000

This has been ringing throughout the night for me. Started at about 3AM, rang again soon after and again several times through the night. Ridiculous.

I received a two text messages of a sexual nature from the above number. I assume it is a scam line and will not be answering them in the future.

Just received a call from 0845 602 1111 and it was a Christmas text message from someone we knew. It wouldn't appear to be a scam

Dial 0800-587 5252
then take option 1
followed by option 5.
That will put an end to all SMS.

this 0845 number is text messaging from bt those that have texts on there house phone if you call it back you can listen to your texts by voise recorded its not any scams

5.35 am today (New Year's day) my land-line phone rang. Couldn't get to the phone in time but got this number from 1471. Did not call it as it sounded like a call centre type number, and I did not recognise it. Worrying to get a call at that time - I immediately think its to do with my elderly mother!

It is BT messaging service and I was woken by this at 9.15am NEW YEARS DAY........GRRR,,,,,,,,,but it did give a mobile number that had sent the text and its original sending time of about 3-ish this morning. I didnt recognise the number so presume it was for 1 of my daughters who were out partying so never called back, and it would make sense that its only coming through now from 3am as all the mobile networks get glutted at midnight. My brother sent me a text at midnight and i didnt receive it til 3am. The 0845...etc number isnt a problem, sometimes its the number sending the text to the home phone that might be the hoax

My phone rang at 7.11am this morning - NEW YEAR'S DAY. I ran downstairs to the phone but was too late to answer. After reading these comments I'm glad I didn't answer. These calls are nothing more than nuisance calls & should be reported.
