Its just a text message service...if someone sends a text to your land line that is the number that comes up, your message will never be the same as anyone elses! if you don't think this is correct try sending a text to your landline and see what happens...unless you have a phone which can recieve text messages.

Its BT SMS service

I received 3 phone calls this evening all after 9pm from 08456021111. I didn't get to the phone in time the first time and after dialling 1471 didn't answer the other times. It was getting very annoying...... and now they are calling again!!!! I don't know who they are but they are driving me crazy!!

Have had umpteen calls from 08456021111 eventually rang it back and it is BT sms text store.  I told me I have no voice texts. At leat I know that it is BT and not some hoax.

I HAD THIS NUMBER COME UP ON MY BILL ON CHRISTMAS EVE I HAVENT EVEN PHONED THIS NUMBER I WILL BE TAKING IT UP WITH VIRGIN AND SEEING WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY ABOUT IT

I am being called by this number several times a day, sometimes 4 in an hour & up to 10pm.

Four times in less than an hour. We have a landline that receives texts so I don't believe the BT theory - What is the truth?

How embarrassing! It is indeed receiving texts for the landline and I had sent the text that triggered it to the landline by accident! Now to find out why it didn't come straight through as a text!

Was called the other night at 10.10 but didnt get to the phone in time so did 1571 3 back and it was an automated voice saying that I had won texts or something, didnt wait for it to finish and just hung up!  Seemed like a scam to me but not sure.

LOL someone just done this to me and I've realized what it is, guys its actually someone sending a text to your home phone number so it reads it out like a fruity loop voice.

Just rang me twice in the last hour, haven't answered after reading comments on here cheers guys. How do they get your number?

This is when someone - could be anyone! sends you a text from a mobile to your landline. It gives the number that the text is from and then reads out the message sent.

Have this call regularly is a BT Message, last time just said ITS SNOWING

i had a call of this number today saying call us urgently and gave me a reference number too. they also gave me a website to go to. www.mackenziehill.com its international propertys 4 sale. its a scam so i didnt call back

To Sunny.... you misheard the message. The website you should have gone to is www.mackenziehall.com quoting the reference. They're actually a debt collection agency.

This number is nothing to with them though, they just use the service. It's a standard BT service that calls you and reads out text messages sent to your phone if your phone isn't text message compatible.

The service costs the same as a local rate call at most.

If you ring BT Text Services on 0800 5875252 you can restrict the times you can be called by this service or turn the service off all together. Choose Option 1 followed by Option 5 and you'll never be bothered by these calls again.

had a call from this number at 04.00am this morning Guessed it was an advertising call, but they left no message. Surely these people can be stopped from making these nusiance calls. But how?????

I got a call today, it is just the result of someone (vodafone in my case) sending a text message to my landline number.

its bt txt service! message wasnt for anyone who stayed in my house but had phoned 4 times in the space of an hour while i was at hairdressers!

I have asked for all junk calling to be barred from my phone yet this one keeps trying
