This number called me 9 times today while I was out. No message left, don't know who they are

Constant calling from this number. Have caller ID, so don't answer

Got two calls this evening turned out they were from Boots Opticians to remind of an appointment. Have taken Maria's advice and cancelled service via BT

I had a missed call from this number. Somehow they had called my skype number, which I have not given to anyone.

After reading the comments on this forum I thought I would check how expensive it is to call them. From skype it was 7.3 pence per minute, so it doesn't seem to be a horrible rip off and if it does the sms to voice service then that seems OK.

This number is the BT Text service to landlines.  Anyone receiving a call from this number has been sent a text to their landline number. Nothing sinister.

If you follow the instructions, you will hear a voice version of the text sent. It is an automated service, so if the recipient doesn't answer, the number will call again at intervals.

eight calls so far today and Im getting a little tired of them. Anyone know how to block this number?

this is a holding service at b.t. it just relays text messages to landlines from mobile phones a friend or not sends a text message to your landline that it  no charge no scam

Received several calls from number 0845 6021111.  I am not even with BT!!  No-one I know would text me to my home phone.  The last one was ten minutes ago 22.30pm.  It is VERY annoying when I am in bed!!!  This must be stopped!

Just had this number ring me 3 times, being the curious person that i am, after ignoring it a few times. i pressed option 1 to retrieve the message. Turns out to be a friend who had lost my mobile number and remembered my home number. Nevertheless i have cancelled the service regardless

Started receiving calls from this number a few day ago probably had 6 calls.
Tried checking my messages but nothing there.  Now getting cross have stopped answering my phone until number checked on 1471.

14 missed calls over the weekend at my work extension

I received half a dozen calls this morning from this phone number - they left an sms/text and asked me to call 01563 554785 "urgently" and quote a reference no. 1001924125.  They also left a company name which sounded like "McKenzie Hall".

Mystery solved - I checked into McKenzie Hall - they are a debt recovery agency, I rang them and they were looking for the previous tenant of this flat.  I've got the calls stopped now.

It started by saying that it was our messaging service (we do not have one.  The call said to press 0 to hear the message or press 1 to save the message.

Erm....on my home phone a text message being read out offering free sexual services.
I hung up & dialed 1471 & it came back as this number. Thursday 21.45pm 09.10.08 - weird.
Obviously some saddo is having a "joke"
