Found two calls from this number, when I checked my voice mail thia AM.
First thing I did was google the number and hit this site.
I called Lloyds TSB ( As I have a card with them ) using the number on the back of my card.I spoke with the fraud team and they confirmed that the call was from Lloyds TSB ( They did not mention a business partner ). It was simply to validate a large transaction I made earlier this week. I took the oppotunity to ask why on the one hand, banks and credit companies invest a lot of time and effort into educating customers on not sharing private data, yet on the other hand they instigate calls such as the one from this number, with no attempt to validate the call as genuine. The answer I got was simply "You did the correct thing by calling back the number on the credit card"..... So I guess I was lucky that I had access to Google and excercised some common sense !

I had a phone call from this number to my mobile, when I returned their call it turned out to be the TSB fraud department questioning the ClickSafe purchase I had to abort the night before. They suggested that as there is a software problem that automatically inserts your additional card holder details into the ClickSafe confirmation page rather than the primary card holder I should pretend to be my wife, how bizarre!

Had a call from this number today. Initially assumed it was a scam, but checked Lloyds TSB phone numbers online and then searched for the number itself - and found this page.
Since it turned out to be genuine, I rang back. Had queries about the 5 latest transactions on my credit card - including the three failed attempts to pay my Council Tax online this morning.
I bought a new computer on the card last week, and a mobile-broadband modem.
Having been victim of an ID fraud involving lots of phone purchases several years ago, I suspect the phone-shop purchase may have been the trigger for the enquiry.
Hopefully they will now let me pay my Council Tax.

I just recieved a voicemail message from this number, I quickly read all the comments on this page and gave them a call back. Everything was genuine and the Lloyds TSB antifraud team were very helpful in stopping two fraudulant transactions cancelling my card and arranging a new one for me.

Same story here. I was very wary of the original automated call so I checked on this page and rang Lloyds TSB Credit Card who confirmed that their antifraud team had made the call. An attempt had been made to use my card abroad. They were very helpful and are sending a new card.

I was out at the time but my husband answered two computerised calls from this number and called me to say it was a security check from Lloyds TSB.  The number also called my mobile number.  Being concerned I rang the number from my mobile (at my expense!!) and got a computer asking for confirmation of my name and number and when it asked for my date of birth details I hung up!

So, so annoying. Yes this is genuine Lloyds bank, but I'm on an 8 week business trip in Beijing and I don't appreciate having automated messages sent to me every few weeks because my transactions don't match their pre-programmed algorithims!!

Got a call after hours at work asking me to call this number.  Our security man contacted me  on mobile to let me know.

I rang this number and was asked for my credit card number - which I refused to do.  I was told to report to the local branch to sort it out.   FRAUD!!!!!!SCAM!!!!!!

I rang Llyods TSB this morning to sort it out.  This is no longer a number they use (implying that it used to be).

This a number obviously taken over by scammers.  The very dissappointing aspect is that Lloyds did not seem in any way concerned that their own number is actively being used by scammers.

They have a duty to protect their custmers & general public from this type of fraud.  They don't seem to appreciate this.

Had an automated call advising to ring back this number as it was an important security alert. Found out it was LLoyds TSB fraud dept and somebody has used my husbands card to commit fraud to the tune of £246.00.  If you are ever suspicious about calls always ring the companies main number from the yellow pages 1st before giving out any of your personal details. They stopped his card and we can't work out how the fraudsters got his details yet.

I have also confirmed that this number is First Alert the fraud side of Lloyds TSB. They called today monitoring 'unusual activity' on my credit card. I am glad they are working in this way.

I 2 ad phone calls from Llyods TSB 08456031754, they asked me 2 press any button on phone, but I do not have press button phone, so caller rang off.  I then contacted Llyods TSB & they confirmed it was all above board, I ad made a transaction & they were checking it was correct.  I dont know why they did not get a LIVE person to ring me in the first place.  But all is ok, & its good they check up.

Its annoying, because you never know who to trust.  They should just txt or ring you and say contact the bank on the normal numbers that you have for us...

Got a call from this number today and YES, it IS genuine.  It was regarding my wife's Lloyds TSB credit card.  Someone in the USA had tried to spend 0.51GBP at an internet hosting site and the transaction was blocked.
Did the correct thing though and ignored the initial "This is an important security call from Lloyds TSB..." message and rang them back when they confirmed the use of the card, which they'd already blocked.
Almost certain that the details were stolen during the hacking of the Cotton Traders site a few months back and she'd placed an order with them using this card.

We've had 4 calls today from 08456031754, with message 'This is an important security call from Lloyds TSB, please press any key to continue'. As we were suspicious, we didn't press anything! We weren't sure if it was genuine as it all seemed a bit dodgy. So, I came online to see if I could find any answers, and discovered this website. I'm a bit shocked to be honest. Although I understand and appreciate Lloyds TSB's fight against fraud, it seems stupid to ring people with an automated service. They should use all the money they make from bank charges and stuff to employ proper people to do the job!!
And my dad says he had something like this a while ago, and he went into his local branch to query it, and they didn't know what he was on about!

Why is everyone freaking out about scam and "ohmygod what is going on oh dear"
if you bother to listen to what they say during the message you can
at any time talk to a representative.
all they do is go through the statements to check if you did them or not.
I think its a great service. If something comes up and youre not aware of it
would a scammer do that?? at least they are doing you the favour then and you
can walk paranoid into your branch (where i agree they are extremely slow at times)
and get it blocked from there if you are still paranoid.
Also how would a scam/fraud person get hold of the payment details of several different
payments and all its details even before they show up on my online statements??

This weekend my family was over so i paid for all their stay and travel expenses,
food etc. so alot of different payments. So today (monday morning) before i could see them
on my online bank statements they called me up to go through each payment to confirm i did them.(automatic, but as i mentioned you can at any time talk to a person)

Stop being so freaking paranoid. Its a one of the better services so far.

Just got a call from this number.  Didn't answer it but it left a blank message on my answerphone.  Decided to google the number and found this site.
I've never had any dealings with Lloyds TSB so now i'm curious as why they phoned.
Maybe i'll ring it back and leave them a blank message.

    Yep this number is genuine.
I made a skip load of purchaces for a holiday to florida and booked everything myself using different companies,Virgin Atlantic, Expedia and Alamo.com. when it came to booking attraction tickets on one sight my card was declined but as it was late in the evening I decided to chace it up this morning. As it happens this number called me and after chicking out this site i called it back and the computer voice took me through the transactionswhich i confirmed.
Great job LloydsTSB I can see the logic of doing it but a bit of common sence and checking and they would have seen those same companies paid for the last 4 years lol.

If it is a genuine call from your credit card company then they will tell you to get the contact number off the back of the credit card, ring that number and ask for Security.
