The caller dropped the call just when I answered the phone.

Just got the same call, and tried the number suggested to remove myself from the 'campaign'. They apologised and did it straight away....apparently.

I have received calls from same number. If u go to scamwatch.com Govt website/ACMA has information what to do re these calls.

Just got this one today, i missed the call, dialed *10# to see who it was and it was this number. Strange. Thanks for the heads up. :)

This number has called our residence a couple of times, each time I pick up - it is disengaged.

Got a call on Saturday morning (2 June) - When the person asked me how my day was going and i said "better until you called me" they hung up

We had our number removed from the white pages over a year ago and pay a fee to keep it silent however we still get calls from this number
Your people must be using an old listing of the white pages!
it might be time to update your records
This could work in your favour as instead of getting short shrift from people like me you could be missing out on donations from the new listings

I was called by this number today. My mobile number is not listed in the whitepages and I don't have a landline number at all. Furthermore, I live in a state other than WA. I insure with the company HBF, a WA based company, which is my only connection to WA. I suspect that my number was either released by HBF or taken from a HBF member database.

Anyone else with some info? I would like to know how my number came to be called.

Sally if you really are who you say you are, and are using an outside telemarketing firm I would really check out their credentials... By calling me, they're breaking the law,  I have a silent number, have had for years, so your not getting my number from the White Pages as you suggest.  I am on the Do Not Call Register.  If you are associated in any way with WA Police, you may just want to be a bit more diligent.  Also a bit odd that a state based charity such as yours would ring me in NSW.  All smells VERY wrong to me!

HI I AM A TFA EMPLOYEE!! I can understand the frustration of all the phone calls you may be getting but it is 80 cents out of each lucky number ($2) you buy that goes towards the charity, which i think is fair enough. The thing is these charitys would not get any of this money if TFA did not exist! The bottom line is TFA raises hundreds of thousands of dollars for charities and they are very grateful for it, there aren't enough volunteers in the world so we are now doing something where we are making a big difference to the campaigns but also making a living at the same time. Some people love our calls and its great to have really good local supporters out there, for those of you who scream down the phone at us i think its very rude as all we are doing is trying to make a living and feel good about it by helping a charity at the same time. I can 100% guarantee that THIS IS NOT A SCAM!!! the reason you can not call the number back is because its not a direct phone line it is an automatic dialer.

If you are still really against TFA then ring them up and tell them to put you on the do not call list and they will more than happily do it for you.

Yes, here they come again!  I have a "do not call" listing - or so I thought. Last year another organisation/person kept on ringing me but the calls were from NSW. Again, like most of you I returned their call, although no message was left and the phone just kept ringing on their end - no pick up.
Finally, I was able to reach the company thanks to another person who left a message here with the organisation's tel no. They were helpful and no more calls were directed at my phone form that number.
I guess, if they are a bona fide charity, they should employ people who will leave a message.

i have recieved a call from this number twice once on 30/8/2012 and another one today 5/9/2012 but i was too slow to get the call and i generally wonder how people actually get my number.on both ocassions they didnt leave a message very sus !!

This is still happening . . . . . Happened on our phone today left no message . . . . It is a telemarketing company situated in Mint Street East VIC Park.  You can call them and ask that your number be deleted from their records.  Good luck

I was "removed from their data base" a while ago and the calls have started again, they must have gotten a new phone book delivered so looks like I'll have to be removed again. The use of auto dial is so rude and invasive with the constant hangups and nobody on the other end of the line
