    I work for Optical Express and I find many of these comments ridiculous.

    The reason we call you is because you have expressed an interest in Laser Eye Surgery. (Data comes from competition enteries, phone/online surveys, free consultation requests and also when you are due for an eye test.)

    If you do not want these calls or are not interested in the treatment then all you need say is that you are not interested. Then we will gladly remove you from our systems.
    If you hang up or do no answer your call is simply dispositioned as 'no answer' and therefore you will be rung again.

    The competition is NOT  a scam. You can see a full list of previous winners of the website. The consultation is a very important part of the process as it lets us know if you are suitable for treatment should you win.

    Also please bear in mind that this IS a business. A very succesful business and unfortunatly this is often how businesses work.


    It takes 10 seconds to politley decline the offer of a free consultation. Perhaps you should try this next time rather than angrily slamming down the phone, swearing and then blowing off steam on here.

    I was interested in laser surgery, they are harassing me and will certainly not do with them, too much commercial for what is still a delicate surgery! I care about my eyes and wont give the care of them to these guys!

    I used to work for OE a few years ago. Trust me I have worked in a lot of other places and this is definitely not how most businesses are run. For a supposed 'healthcare provider' I shocked at how little they care about their patients wellbeing.

    Oh and the 'Very successful business' was a line they used to feed us with as well. Some of the more stupid staff were gullible enough to be taken in by it. I believe 'very successful business' is actually far from the case, hence they are crapping their pants about this page.

    You people are [removed:lang]. You give out your number to enter a competiton for something, and you are surprised when you get a call? Stop giving your number out - simple.

    It's YOUR fault - not the company's. They're just running their business by trying to contact prospective clients. You're just trying to get something for nothing...such a stupid mindset when freely giving out your information online.

    I want laser eye surgery and I had just entered their competition/info pack request. I was fully expecting a call but unfortunately was unable to answer it.

    This is NOT a cold call or anything 'dodgy' - they're FOLLOWING UP a CALLBACK REQUEST (which is what you did when you gave them your information).

    I am seriously losing faith in people's common sense...

    Then answer the call. Thier job is to find out why you were enquiring...if you want them to stop calling then answer and tell them. And then have a long hard think about why you gave them your information in the first place. It's really not that difficult. I hope you're still in nappies because I draw the line at potty training...

    if they keep ringing me everyday till saturday then on saturday i will pick the phone up and tell them to "leave me alone, this is harrasment and i will take it to the police. i have your number". see what the idiots do then.

    Are specsavers selling information?  I have never entered a comptetition or enquired about laser eye surgery but i am getting calls.

    Optical Express, Optimax and the others are paying off patients who have bad outcomes and getting them to sign confidentiality agreements so that they are effectively gagged.
    This completely unregulated industry is ruining thousands of peoples sight and we are asllowing these greedy fat cat owners to profit whilst their patients are damaged.
    What has to happen before proper regulations are enforced? Why has a medical treatment on the eyes been allowed to be industrialised like this? I hope that the time is approaching where Moulsdale and the others will be called to account. He pretends it is about clinical excellence. It is about money money and money. That is all.
