Staff are not bonused as such on the suitability, they are performance managed out of the business if they don't press people to get the more expensive treatments!

There are serious risks which are not explained fully or correctly and they treat people with medical conditions that a few yrs ago they wouldn't have touched with a barge pole.

I believe it was a matter of "make the net bigger to catch more fish" similar to the £395 "hook and reel them in price"

Staff I talked to were bonused on percentage suitable for surgery amongst other things including percentage who had the high value treatments. Can't vouch for now though. They also were clear that Moulsdale set the targets (according to a Regional Manager).

They are off course experts at "bait and switch" too!

Whats the main jist of the 10k pay off etc from pjg? Only picked up on this tread tonight.
I know the bonus structure inside out! Rewards staff who mislead patients in my opinion. If patients were aware of the staff turnover they would think twice about having surgery, or why do staff leave?!
It is a pity that OE does operate in these ways as overall laser eye surgery is an excellent procedure in the vast majority of cases!
Less risky patient selection and more transparent costing and the company would make similar money without the bitterness from patients.
All laser centres will have patients with problems but it is how you deal with them which demonstrates the difference between a good company and a bad one. In my opinion you get what you pay for.

I have noticed that there is what i think is an extremely significant comment which has been deleted from WCM.

What did it say?

it was one which started something like ( not word for word) 'you dont know me at all do you ....

but i cant remember ecactly how it was worded

Lack of adherence to guidelines of governing bodies, use of financial incentives to drive staff to push boundaries of acceptability for surgery, demedicalisation of a very serious irreversible procedure into a high street purchase, lack of true regulatory controls, sickening company cultures, truly appalling boss who bullies, lies and intimidates his staff and many in the whole sphere of Eyecare, a cynical 3 year stalling system to limit litigation and mismanage "complex cases", a cynical use of media to lie to the general public and finally a failure to take many opportunities to reflect on criticism and make changes.

Cannt say why but agree with all points above. Is there any realistic chance of a case against the companies though? There are also plenty of stand alone guys out there equally as bad

You already know the answers so what are you after here?

URGENT!
If you've suffered ANY problems following surgery @ Optical Express (or elsewhere) pls contact me asap.

This includes dry eyes, starbursts, or anything else of concern - no matter how small you think it may be - & especially if OE told you it'll get better 'in time'.

Regardless of the lengthy consent form you signed, you CAN take legal action - as countless patients paid off after signing a 'gagging order' would tell you if they could!

You have only THREE YEARS from the date of initial surgery to instigate legal proceedings, so if you've been 'adopted' by OE's "Complex Case Management System" you need to think what will happen if your eyes are still not better by the time you reach the third year!?

21 June: I have an open ended meeting with a legal team representing a number of patients damaged by Optical Express; we will be looking at the option of class action litigation.  
ie: a lawsuit against a company whose actions have caused damage to small or large groups of people.

This is just one of the reasons OE are trying to discredit & silence me.

Comments do add up, I asked what the jist of the issues where that the thread about OE and optimax. I the got a response to explain issues, they replied to say that I also agree with these, pretty simple really.
I just hope that what you try to achieve from this will actually make a difference though I find it hard to believe the pricing structure etc will ever be able to be sorted, companies will always b able to use the "from price" as a get out!
