    Hi Sasha
As you will know, patients who flag up problems post op are no longer asked to fill in feedback forms and therefore their experiences are not reflected in OEs published statistics. This SKEWED SURVEY information is often what prospective customers base their choice of provider on. They are fed by OE only statistics/experiences relating to satisfied customers who have had successful surgery
It is for this reason, although there may be some censorship, ReviewCentre statistics do highlight OEs manipulation of statistics. OE state in their marketing publicity that 99% of Laser Ccustomers would recommend OE to family and friends. The equivalent Review Centre figure currently
Ly stands at  ***** 63.1% ******.  This is a very worrying discrepancy !!!!

I also notice that once an unfavourable post appears there is a flurry of 5***** reviews (some with no name???)
Also reviewers HAVE to award 1* to get a review posted.......zero stars which may be a more accurate reflection  doesn't seem possible (or have I missed something)

    Re
"Laser eye surgery vouchers are worth £300 each, Optical Express gives 3 choices.

    * I receive a cheque for £300 (no good for you)
    * You receive £300 off the cost of your treatment (no good for me)
    * We split it - You receive £150 off the cost of your laser eye surgery treatment and I receive a £150 cheque for referring you. (Everyones happy)"

Unfortunately this financial incentive encourages post op patients to recommend OE even if they themselves are left with poor results.

A number of people net a good income selling these vouchers on ebay.

This kind of advertising needs to be stopped.

The following info was sent to me by an ex OE 'counsellor'.

    Re Customer satisfaction questionnaires:
"In my experience 90% of these responses were from employees of OE who couldn't be bothered to ask customers to complete...

There is pressure from managers not to give the customer all available information for fear of scaring them off...

I have seen customers lied to at every level and even witnessed a colleague telling a customer to lie on a credit application in order to fund their surgery (at the Liverpool branch this practice is rife)."

I invite anyone currently employed by OE - or recently unemployed - to contact me.

Any info could be potentially helpful & your confidentiality is guaranteed.

When they have more than one store in a town and one has closed due to the administration issue they are putting We Have Moved signs in the windows of the empty stores. This is lie as the other store was there along. Just like them to try a make a positive out of a negative by lying.

Recent report from OE patient: bandage lens was left in his eye for THREE MONTHS!

Negligence?  According to renowned independent surgeon - an emphatic yes!

That's the least of the patient's concerns btw!

    Source: www.treatmentsaver.com/opticalexpress

"* Optical Express Biostatistics June 2011, 61,142 patients.
Based on a study of the most common prescriptions of patients that we treat, low to moderate near sightedness of patients 40 years or younger:
Over 99% of patients achieve 20/20 vision

** Based on 35,818 patient responses:
Over 99% of patients would recommend Optical Express laser eye surgery to their friends and family"

I'm not a statistician, but my personal interpretation of these numbers suggests that "99% of patients who would recommend OE..." are included in the 61,142 patients who achieved 20/20 vision.

On that basis, OE's claim that "Our surgeons have carried out over 1 million laser eye surgery procedures." indicates that 938,858 patients have been omitted from the study, therefore the statistics are vitally flawed & misleading.

NB: 20/20 vision isn't worth having at the cost of poor & damaged visual acuity.

I think the only thing that would be better is if David Moulsdale decided to quit his job without notice instead .
Then maybe we could all throw a party for being rid of (  in my view )the gutter end of society dressed up as the socially acceptable as the so called apparently 'leading' UK entrepeuner David Moulsdale ( if you say so Moulsdale)

In my opinion the man who RBS should never have lent any money to and in my view has wasted any talents he has by being too stuck up and too far up his own b%^kside to realise he is not gods gift to the industry or to optics. In fact he is starting to become in my view  an irritating loser who needs to take the responsibility of peoples livelihoods and employees a little bit more seriously and ideally- go and find another job.

Nominet, the organisation that manages the '.uk' top level domain, has refused to order the transfer of the domain name 'opticalexpressruinedmylife.co.uk' to the owners of Optical Express DCM (Optical Holdings) Limited, finding that the domain name was not an abusive registration, since its purpose was the genuine criticism of Optical Express."

    See Daily Mail:

    Quoted on Wikipedia:
    www.en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optical_Express
In November 2012, The Daily Mail ran an article about Optical Express being the preferred partner for Bupa for Cataract surgery and how patients were being coerced to use Optical Express instead of specialist consultants. The article alleged that Bupa patients were being presented with a financial penalty if they decided not to have the cataract surgery with Optical Express.[35]
