- onwardsandupwardsOptical Express is a joke of a company, Mr David Moulesdale can give all the motivational speeches he likes but the truth is David and his management don't give a toss about the customers or his staff. Its all about the money......To line his pocket no one elses!!!
I can't see why this hasn't made the news, especially having 152 UK stores now reduced to just under 80!
David thinks nothing of closing the stores and telling no one, till staff and customers turn up for their work. To find the shop closed, emptied of all stock and can't explain to loyal customers that are there to collect their glasses or contact lenses which they have paid for that they cant help or advise them as they didnt know themselves,Disgusting!! Then the process of having to fight tooth and nail for refunds.,is another hurdle, they will gladly take the money from you but getting it back is another thing all together.
Not just with the customer refunds, every company be it glasses, contact lens orders, distribution, sanitation products, ink catridges, printer maintenence, or simple stationery orders are all bounced as they move on to the next unsuspecting company!
The amount of people that have been made redundant before christmas is alarming and yet he is still having his Christmas Party at Glasgow Hilton, Doesn't have a concience to stand up there and give it the big I AM, he's doing alright, stuff the ones that put in the graft and actually do a days work for him!
Yes people, customers and employee's talk, whole place is corrupt to the core.....Not what you know, It's who you know in there.
Aslong as the senior management bow down to David and answer all his demands, there fine and dandy, minute David needs to rein some cash back in, close stores, pay people off!!! Just like that!!- Caller: Optical Express
- The dude replies to Anon (the original)| 12 replies@anon who says the Hippocratic oath is legally binding? more tosh from you I suspect!
Prove it! And prove the doctors are not corrupt, I don't think you can. There are a handful of decent lasik doctors out there, the rest are corrupt fools. - Anon (the original) replies to The dude| 11 replies@The Dude
If you want to be pedantic then the oath itself is not law, but the tenets are embedded in UK law and the administration of it. Break the ethics code and risk losing their license. Do harm and be found negligent. Do not be honest with the patient and be held responsible. Though the law has relaxed some of the tenets in allowing abortion for example.
As for your ridiculous challenge to prove that doctors are not corrupt ..... That really is tosh. Why don't you prove that they are corrupt instead? I'll frrely admit that the likes of Schallhorn should be held totally responsible for the results of medical shortcuts taken by OE and the approvals granted by OEs own medical board. In the overwhelming majority of cases patients get what they pay for and the surgeons performing the work get paid a lot less than some of the "decent lasik doctors".
The corrupt people are the shop front advisors with little or no medical knowledge who push patients forward for surgery regardless, in order to meet their selling targets and achieve bonus. Not helped by people who decide on treatment merely on the basis of price. - the dude replies to Anon (the original)| 9 replies@anon you need to look no further than

for proof of corruption from not only the staff, but the DOCTORS THAT ARE ALSO CORRUPT
Tosh! - The dude replies to Anon (the original)"My feeling is that lasik surgery and other refractive surgical procedures exist solely to enrich DOCTORS and the corporations that manufacture the laser equipment and not to benefit mankind" - Dr Edward Boshnick
This is about money, for everyone, not just the shop staff, not just the directors / owners, but also the CORRUPT DOCTORS. - Anon (the original) replies to the dude| 8 replies@The Dude
So you refer to a few sensationalist single cause websites. Then a doctor with a talent for self promotion and a vested interest in promoting scleral lenses over other techniques and call that proof?
Dr Boshnick profits from his practice, probably far more than the average jobbing surgeons working for OE and Optimax. If it's all about money, why isn't he corrupt?
What about the admitted "decent laser doctors" who charge far more money for their work? If it's all about money, why aren't they considered corrupt?
Corruption is dishonestly obtaining personal gain. Being a merely average jobbing surgeon working for Optimax and the like is not dishonest. Though it may be morally unacceptable. Certifying them and allowing them to learn on the job is coorrupt. So is pushing unsuitable people forward for surgery.
Tosh! yourself. - The dude replies to Anon (the original)| 7 replies@anon I am merely stating the fact that all people are corruptible and that the vast majority of LASIK doctors, knowingly damage peoples eyes, and are breaking the Hippocratic oath daily.
Dr Boshnick is making a living, but he is also a decent human being, I know he does a lot for people for no financial gain. Some LASIK doctors are also decent, the few who don't over charge, who are willing to take on complex cases from their own colleagues who leave patients to rot in depression and anxiety.
I never said the decent ones charge far more money for their work, you did! A decent doctor wouldn't over charge.
The average jobbing surgeons are the ones causing the majority of the damage in the first place. They are knowingly and willingly taking on unsuitable patients. The entire industry is corrupt. - Anon (the original) replies to The dude| 6 replies@The dude
Yes, everyone has a price - including you and I and certainly Sasha. I just hope that my price is sufficiently high that it's never tested..
Dr Boshnick may do a lot for no financial gain. He can and does charge more than other surgeons because he has a "name". Is charging more for the same service over charging? If so, he is not a decent doctor by your definition. Optimax and OE probably make charity donations. I think that you'd agree, it doesn't make them any better.
I don't agree that the vast majority of lasik doctors knowingly damage people's eyes. If they did, there'd be far, far more serious complications and there wouldn't need to be a campaign for legislation
My comment on decent doctors was an observation and generalisation. Operations at smaller specialist clinics cost more. Agreed, part of that is not cutting so many corners as OE and Optimax and part is more modern equipment, but another part is the surgeon. Good surgeons command a premium. Pay peanuts, get monkeys.
The reason that jobbing surgeons working for High St chains allegedly cause a higher proportion of damage than those aligned with smaller clinics is probably because 1) they rely on clinic measurements from an ever changing staff; 2) they may have trained on the type of laser, but lasers are all different and maintained differently, so the surgeon is not as familiar with his instruments, 3) They are typically allowed a maximum of 5 minutes with the patient pre-surgery and 4) they have very little experience of following individual patients all the way through from initial consultation through to sign-off. Therefore miss potential warning signs. - The dude replies to Anon (the original)| 5 repliesDr Boshnick does not over charge. Considering that he will spend two weeks with a patient to get them their life back for a few thousand pounds, I would certainly not consider that an extortionate amount of money.
All lasik surgery causes damage to eyes, thats scientifically proven. The issue is that average surgeon causes un-neccessary additional damage. And the usual problem is that the majority of damage is over looked or under estimated. There are millions of eyes damaged out there, but many don't have the guts to complain.
Completely disagree with your entire last statement, many smaller clinics cause as much damage as the larger ones. Plenty of examples of surgeons making mistakes no matter who they are.
Ultimately if this industry were decent, it wouldn't matter which surgeon you went to see. I would prefer the industry to be shut down to prevent further loss of life.
BTW I don't have a price, I'm not you and certainly would not sell out to Ambrose like Sasha did. Your a moron for thinking everyone has a price. Try speak for yourself from now on. - Anon (the original) replies to The dude| 4 repliesDefine over charging. If he charges/profits more than an equivalent surgeon performing the same job isn't that over charging? Alternatively, using your argument, isn't it worth spending more on your surgeon initially to get a better surgeon?
By definition burning the cornea damages the eye. The question is whether that damage is acceptable - ie improves sight and does not overly weaken the structure. What you have yet to prove is that the average surgeon causes unnecessary additional damage. That is just your opinion.
Yes, surgeons are human, they occasionally make mistakes. However, most smaller clinics have a stable staff, maintain and calibrate their own laser etc and therefore are inherently more consistent than jobbing surgeons in the High St chains. No, if this industry were "decent", it would still matter which surgeon you went to see because some are a lot better than others - fact.
Finally, you may not think that you have a price, but you are wrong. Everyone has a price, may not be money, but everyone can be bought. What would you do in order to bring this industry into order and prosecute those who you felt responsible? Would you be tempted at that price? Would you persuade yourself that the end justified the means? or take the moral high ground and refuse to sell yourself, even for something that you clearly feel strongly about. - Reposted replies to Anon (the original)| 1 replyIm reposting the comment from 'onwards and upwards'

Whilst Optical Express invest considerable time & energy trying to silence critics, desperately fighting to keep any mention of opticalexpressruinedmylife.co.uk off Wikipedia - backfired by attracting more attention - their competitors are working positively to improve services and help patients left with problems.
OE patients account for approx 95% of those who contact My Beautiful Eyes for help & advise; the remaining 5% from 2 to 3 other clinics.
The CEOs/owners of the latter are generally keen to meet with me and/or my clients in person, to resolve any issues, and fulfil their duty of care to patients.
When I first dipped my toes into this murky pool last year, even then the majority of people contacting me with problems were OE patients. I discussed this with Optical Express troubleshooter Patrick James Green, who promised, on behalf of David Moulsdale, if I referred such patients to him, he would make sure they were helped.
For a while this seemed to work, until patients started to report back that they hadn't been helped at all, simply fobbed off with excuses from OE.
Having failed to honour his promise I told Patrick I was losing my "street cred".
His emailed response, "I'm a hard worker not a miracle worker". To be fair to Patrick, I realise now that his authority is limited.
Our amicable agreement finally fell apart in mid April, when I thought it timely to advise Patrick that I had a recording of our meeting on 2 March.
I had never intended to use that recording for any purpose other than my own protection and record of events. However, as regular WCM followers are aware, an OE troll provoked me for proof of its existence, which I published on YouTube.
Then came the OERML domain name fight, which Nominet DRS ruled in my favour. But still, months later, OE's team continue to lie about why they fought for it:
"It will come as no surprise that the original OERML site contained defamatory and libellous statements mainly from its owner, amongst stories and opinions from individuals"
(See Wiki Talk page re these claims from OE employee 'Hardlygone')
Not true. And I have "original OERML site" screenshots to prove it.
OE has attempted to disrupt and discredit me in a number of ways: the most amusing to me, but most damning to them, a 'wanted' poster displayed in some of their staff rooms. (Copy now in the hands of my lawyer)
It pictures a b/w photo taken from one of my YouTube videos, declaring me to be a credit card fraudster! It doesn't include my name, but does ask anyone who sees me not to approach in person but to contact Stephen Hannan immediately! Defamation of character for starters.
Thanks for making me laugh guys ;)
NB: Any other OE employees who also saw this poster in their staff room please contact me - confidentiality guaranteed.
Meanwhile, David Moulsdale is the only CEO in this industry unwilling to work with me to help his patients find a satisfactory resolution to their problems. Instead, he prefers to fight, forcing steadily increasing numbers into litigation.
There would be no need for the OERML website if he were prepared to work with me, and take care of OE patients in a responsible manner, both before and after surgery.
David, I have posted here for transparency, and I'm prepared to meet with you at any time to discuss further.
Meanwhile, the OERML website is undergoing a massive overhaul and the "small collection of accounts of negative experiences" claimed on Wikpedia will soon be "a large number", and my campaign for government legislation will continue with or without the existence of Optical Express.
My aim is, and always will be, to help patients damaged by surgery, and to do my utmost to stop it happening to more, at any clinic. - Wondering replies to reading with interest| 2 repliesJust like moulsdale had a 10k budget allegedly ? I could've lent him the money .
What's he gonna do with the money now - pay someone to swear at people on forums ?
Why the obsession with flip flops anyway - ask moulsdale if he wants to stock them in his shops - might generate some footfall ! - reading with interest replies to Wondering| 1 reply@wondering why the obsession with my e-mail address? You provoke me with insults(I hadn't said a word to you for 2 days) and then cry when I call you a slapper. I most certainly won't show you the e-mails I have on the 20th the only thing I will say to you is a big f you when I prove to you I'm not an OE employee. Like you're actually going to show up on the 20th. Here's a clue to who I am I live in Nottingham have you worked in out Sasha/oof/wondering or whatever you want to call yourself today. Trying to provoke me into revealing these e-mails won't work.
oof oh dear another Sasha alias. Argument between Moulsdale and Wondering are you a special needs child? The argument was between me and Wondering. Here's a clue I'm not Moulsdale. How exactly do you show e-mails on a forum you special needs child? I'll gladly show the e-amils to Anon and help him/her expose Sasha. I'm as much Moulsdale as Wondering is Sasha in that case - is that better for you oof you special needs cretin.
If Anon puts their contact details up I will gladly meet them and show them the e-mails with proof of who I am. Sasha is nothing but a fraud who took Optimax's hush money after promising numerous times she would never sign an Optimax gagging order. Provoke all you want but the first person I'll show these e-mails to will be Anon(the original). - Bus Driver| 9 repliesSasha is completely discredited after it became apparent that she was paid off by Ambrose. Her followers have vanished too. Has she paid them off or have they realised that she was out for herself all along. Interesting that after being on here daily, she is now reposting old stuff under various identities to deflect from having to answer the "payoff" question. No Sasha we wont let it lie. Explain yourself.
- WOndering replies to reading with interestSo - obviously everyone here thinks that you work for OE and probably kiss moulsdales butt everyday .
Small question for you - why am I getting under your skin . I mean you are sat there using derogatory words towards females and swearing . Are you a part of a potential ring of abusive men working at Optical Express ?
I'm not provoked . Certainly not crying . Just enjoying watching you show yourself up .
If you managed to get moulsdales phone number as you originally claimed - please do ask him what he thought of the Comment previously on this forum by someone called ' Chang ' who called him the ' jimmy saville of the eye world ' .
Was it embarrassing ? Is that why you won't admit to working for him ? Alternatively are you involved in this alleged abuse ?
Is that why you are sat on this forum calling me a slapper ?
