Where did they get my number?????????????? - D.HewitsonI got a text which apparently carried with it a video. It said "thanks for downloading the video". I did'nt even respond to the message but still found my credit suddenly reduced by about £9.50. The text included a phone number (08706091795) which seems to be auto answering machine for a company called W2. How can I stop these messages - this is the second one in a week?

- GwyneddI had a multimedia message today, and all my phone credit disappeared. I then had an email from 82344 thanking me for downloading the video! I didn't intend to download it, in fact, I pressed cancel and assumed the download had stopped. It didn't stop until I ran out of credit. I haven't signed up for any service, I never ever give out my mobile phone number online. Now I am gettingmessages telling me I need to top up, but I won't top up in case these people steal my money again/ I have a Sony Erricson phone with O2. Going to look at O2 website and see what they say about these calls.

- Phil678Just got caught with the same scam from 08706091795 I am on pay as you go so it could only take the credit on my phone. vodaphone have told me to text to 83435 (thats who sent me it), the word STOP. Hope this works when I top up.
- Caller: Witheld
- melrGot the same as you lot - text saying i had downloaded vid, then they took my credit. Rang Vodafone, told nothing they could do. Gave me no. to ring 0870 6091720, answer service, so i left a message giving them my no. (oops prob shouldnt have done that) & told them i did not request the vid, i wanted my credit reimbursing & i was considering contacting Ofcom. Im really annoyed cos i only got my credit last week when i was bought the new fone for my birthday! Also, text STOP to 82355 to hopefully prevent them from texting again.
- MonikaThis morning I got exactly the same message from 82355 saying
'Thanks for downloading the video. Share it for FREE via bluetooth or MMS! In case of any problems call 08706091795 £5.00/vid'
And £5 has been taken from my pay as you go credit on o2.
I never requested this video that i cant even see.
I think its sick that the company can get hold of number and withdraw money from your account like that. Im off to the o2 shop in the town centre to see if they can reinberse my money and make sure it does not happen again. - lisareport them to some goverment body called phone pay or something on 0800 500 212 i have to wait 12 hrs before 02 can tell me what ive been charged. o2 told me to contact this goverment body
