I had a call from this number today - so checked on the net and found this site. Caller asked to speak to the homeowner - I told him it was rented - he couldn't hang up quick enough. The 'rented' line always works with any home improvements - they're not going to get any money out of you. They also note that the number is a rented property on their screen.

answered call,and was asked if i am the home owner.when i said i wasnt they called me a liar and hung up.who are these people?and does anyone have an office address for them?

keep getting call, i either answer and hang up immediately or simply dont bother to answer it at all.

re. 0870 numbers
I used to work for a company who gave 'free' 0870 numbers. These were supposed to be for companies who could use them in marketing and so on. At the time, late 1990's, they were charged the same as normal 01 numbers. Since then the various phone companies have reduced the call charge for normal 01/02 numbers and 0870 is still the same rate. OfCom are trying to change this.
All 0870 does is re-direct a call made to that number to the 'real' destination. For example, I may have 08709992222 issued to me, when you call it first goes to the telephone company system where their database will check the destination, the call is then re-dialled at their end to come to my office phone.
The telephone company, and BT, both take a cut of the money each call raises. If there are enough minutes generated to make it worthwhile doing the paperwork then the end customer may get a payment out of it.
Big companies like Sky had loads of these 0870 numbers, all going to different departments. Because they had loads of calls coming in they wre making thousands out of 0870 on incoming calls.
BUT for a company or person to have that 0870 number show as the number calling you they have to PAY for the service. I think it was about £60 a year.
If someone calls you and the caller ID shows 0870 then you are NOT being charged to take the call. Only if you call it back.
There is no directory of who has 0870 numbers. If you have a complaint then you need to report it to OfCom. They can tell by the range of numbers which top level telephone company is involved. Some have agents who 'sell' the numbers to end customers, or even give them away as we did.
The telephone company can, under direction from OfCom, force the release of details to get hold of the company using the 0870 number - but you can't do that yourself. We had it happen in a few fraud cases, we were issued with a disclosure document under the Data Protection Act and had to give full details of the person who had placed the original order.
Hope that clears a few points up for those who don't understand 0870 numbers.

Number called, there was no-one there, again. I am worried about my absent son. Each time a call comes I fear it will be bad news. I don't need this.

Supreme O Glaze, some sort of window company called using a machine message, not even a person on the other end. Spam of the highest order.

my elderly grandparents get these calls everyday. i picked the phone up yesterday and someone said 'you can sit on my lap for the last bit.'
i think we need to track the filthy b******s down.

a few weeks ago got called by 08708507619 and when i picked the phone they hung up!
today, got call from them and a man said 'may i speak to house owner' then just hung up before i even replied...

kinda strange...

i had a call from this number 08708507619 today the woman asked if i was the homeowner when i said no she said oooohhh then hung up... how rude are some people....

they told me that i had won £1500 of home improvements..i just said no i didnt need anything done & that i was not the homeowner and they said they would ring back...

I took a call today from this number.  The salesperson claimed to be from Supremoglaze.  I tried to ease him politely off the pohone but he wasn't having it and continue with his spiel to my increasing irritation.  He was eventually very rude and hung up.  

After a bit of research I found the 0870 1219111 number and rang that.  I was eventually put through to customer service (there is no option for this on their telephone tree, so I just chose 2 at random), and eventually got through to someone with some customer service skills.  I pointed out to him the damage that his company's practices were doing to their reputation on the web.  He said he would take some action as a result of my call.

I received a call from this number today, no-one there when i picked it up. Phoned back no answer.

I then go on to google and find this thread. 8 pages, 11 months of people with the same complaint. Lots of people reporting this number to TPS, Ofcom etc.

So why have these bodies done nothing in 11 months when the rules are clearly being broken? Why is this number still calling people?

This number called me at 10:30-ish this morning.  Called off as soon as I picked up the phone.  I am with TPS so no-one should be making telemarketing calls to this number.

I have had LOADS of these calls and when I answer someone hangs up - then you phone back and it just keeps ringing.  Finally today a woman spoke when i answered and said she was from Weatherseal.  I just phoned the company to verify and asked if they were linked to Supremaglaze (as another person has identified above) - apparently it is their sister company.  The Weatherseal head office telephone number is 01606 866 500 - apparently they hold a list of call centres and telephone numbers that they use.

I got rid of my caller, as I ususally do, by telling her incorrectly that I lived in a council house. She apologised for wasting my time and off she went. Bargain ... until the next silent call!  

Myself?  - I'm off to Oftel now to try to stop these nuisance calls.

On 26 June 2008 the Office of the Information Commissioer served an enforcement notice on Weatherseal Holdings Limited (which includes Supremoglaze) who hold this number.

That notice instructed Weatherseal to cease calling numbers that had requested not to be called - which includes any number registered with TPS - within 35 days. That period of grace expired on 31 July.

just hung up one me? how do i stop this as happens alot?
