This number keeps calling and does not leave a message

This number keeps calling me too. Has been going on for weeks now and I never answer but they never leave a voice message. Decided to answer this afternoon and got some woman who just said hello and then hung up.

I answered this call, but did feel somewhat uncomfortable confirming my Optus account details with this person, hence why I checked here. I just signed up with Optus a few weeks ago, and I think this is just them checking you are happy with the service and understand the obligations of your contract.

Interestingly, at the end of the conversation, she asks you "Before our conversation today, what would you rate Optus out of 10", and then asks what you would rate Optus after this conversation. I'm guessing most people here would rate Optus substantially lower after this call.

As we all know it is Optus, but its not always sales.  Its sometimes courtesy calls, support etc.  As telemarketers work out of the same building and use the same lines our CLI is all the same, were bound by legislation.  

I know because I work for optus and my outbound line has this CLI and I'm not involved with the sales side at all.

I just then recieved a call from this number. A lady asked saying that they are offering me any help... and then asked to speak to my mother by saying her full name who is currently the owner of the contract. i got worried didnt answer... she says hello and i hang up. very suspicious. i think i might try calling back the number. see if its a scam. i don't think its actually optus...

just got a call from this number, my phone is listed on the 'do not call register' so i'd like to know how to complain!

I've been getting calls from this number over the past couple of weeks, when I answer it hangs up. Just got a call from 08 8283 1861.
It seems it may be Optus from what the rest of you guys have said, but if it were, why do they never speak to me. Wish they'd just bugger off.

Do not give them any details. this is a scam. they pretend to be from optus but there are just asking a bunch of questions to get your personal details for fraud. Do not answer any of their questions.

I got a call from this number last week, missed it and no voicemail. Similar thing happened to me last year (around the same time too) and I googled it and realised it was a scam. So after this call from an area code I know nobody in, I googled the number again and found this thread. Got another call yesterday and ignored it, and no voicemail was left again. Just got another call tonight and I ignored it again, however they did leave a voicemail. I check the voicemail and it was just background noise. This is really starting to piss me off. Its very much a scam.

Yeah i get the same annoying call. It's definitely optus and it won't stop until you answer unfortunately

I called the number back, got the automated message. Took down the 133345 number, called THEM - Optus sales and waited and waited. I finally got through.

I asked to not be contacted again. "No problem" they said "No future sales or marketing calls via sms, voice or email". Great I thought. 24hrs later...they called again.

This time I answered the call and put my phone back in my pocket. Figured they'd get the picture. I called them again, same process... I just got off the phone with them. Registered the complaint again. Spoke with a shift supervisor whose tone could only be described as SNID

E. I threated to shift carriers and report them to the Telecommunucations Industry Ombudsman. (1800062058)

"Yes" he said, "we can take you off the list, but it will take 4 - 6 weeks". I did my nut and demanded compensatory credit. I got $100 in bonus credit that will expire in 30 days. I called the TIO and registered a suspended complaint, so if there are problems I have a complaint in the system.

Incidently, Optus claimed that the "Do not call" register doesn't apply, because they're only calling Optus customers- that's according to the TIO as well. I can only encourage people to call the TIO to make a complaint- 1800 062 058. Apparently the TIO can contact someone at Optus who has the power to make the process go more swiftly than 6 weeks.

This number has called me 4 times today already. 10:58am, 1:32pm, 2:42pm and 3:46pm - I have not answered and they never leave a message. I wish they would just F--K OFF!!

Who is this and why do they keep calling?? Has to be dodgy if they never leave a voicemail, surely?

I have had four missed calls from his numbr this week - I will not answer. I would never give out my details to someone calling me anyway - I would always ring the correct OPTUS phone lines and then confirm my details. Bloody telemarketing calls are annoying especially when I am expecting important calls!

I got two missed calls from 0884626444 this week, if I receive another I won't be happy and the ombudsman may hear about it............

I can't believe so many others have looked this up. And optus haven't done anything yet! I've been an optus customer since I got my first handset - I had to tell them to leave me alone.

Sick of the annoying calls every day. Not answering them as they are just a pest. Optus has been nothing but a pain to deal with. End of contract end of Optus.
