My wife got a call from this number today and they said they were from the US department of education calling for her. when i told them i worked for the US department of education and what it was in reference to they hung up immediately

I am also getting an "a" in the number

I am posting a detailed story so you know what to expect if they call you. I got several calls from these people today. They sould like foreigners that claimed to have a $7000 grant for me from the government and gave me a number to call his manager with a separate number to give them. He then proceeded to ask me personal questions. I said I didn't want to answer them because the government already knows all this about me. Then he asked me how I wanted to receive my money. I told him by check in the mail. (He didn't ask for my address, but I wouldn't have given it to him anyway.) He then asked me for a card number and I would get my money in 20-25 minutes. I told him I could wait for the check in the mail. He told me to call his manager and he could get me my money. I then said okay bye and did not call his manager.
About 15 minutes later he called me to check if I called his manager yet. I told him I was busy and would call later. He said I need to call right now because it was pending. I told him I'll call later today, I'm busy. He hung up. I never intended to call as I know from the moment he stated he was calling from the government with a grant for me that it was a scam.
Later on this afternoon a lady called me and tried to start fresh with the same spiel. I cut her off right away saying I already got 3 calls from them and she said, "Only three? You are lucky." Then I told her I'm not going to give her my card information and she said okay and hung up.
They are trying to get credit card and account numbers so they can steal your money. Whatever happens do NOT give them information or call the number they give you. If you don't answer they'll keep calling back. My advice, just answer and block their every move on the call. They'll eventually give up and move on to someone else. I just hope everyone can read this before they fall victim or atleast be wise enough to stay out of their trap.

After my entry on here they called me back and I told them I reported them. They hung up right away. After that I got two more calls from them, both of which they didn't speak and hung up right away. No calls today. Yay!

This number called me 24 times today! I turned my phone on silent and just ignored it. Reading this post has me worried - how can this be legal? Why is it still happening? I don't know where to report it to and can't block the number because of the 'c' in it.

Got a number from this caller as well, did not answer.

I also have t-mobile... wtf! Did their database get hacked?! or are these people calling every number there is?!

Apparently a lot of people are getting calls from this number. I think it should be investigated by the police.

They are scammers trying to intimidate you into giving them money for a debt that you supposedly owe.

This number keeps calling me too seems this person is on yahoo messenger as steevie0015. I'm changing my number he's a freak.

This number has called me for the last three weeks and on Sundays and Saturdays, four to five times a day, I live in Pa and most of the time no one answers, or they hang up when you say hello.  when my mom answered it they ask for a name.  tried to call back but it was no able to connect.

Started asking for emails fcebook and all accounts and i replied to them simply "dont have one" but now they dont stop calling. My friend has a number like this one so i keep picking up on accident now one guy is talking to me like a stalker/lover. (Sorry) -Utah

I got a call from this number with a c in the middle.  They are a collection agency call center (you can hear others in the background) who uses threatening tactics like "I have been authorized to serve you papers at your work".

I just got a call from this number.  It was an Asian sounding man.  He knew my first name and asked me if I was interested in any home improvements...

I simply said no thank you.  I waited on the line to see if he would come up with any additional arguments, but he simply hung up.

this number calls me about ten times a day...leaves no messages and calls at all hours of the day. its getting out of hand.

Got a call from this phone#  around 3:30 today, didn't answer and called T-mobile and report it, because I pay to have unknown #s rejected.Also put this # on my reject list.

I received a call from this number moments ago but there was a "w" where everyone else is getting a "c". nobody was there.

Hello. I thought I was the only one receiving these calls LOL. It's a good thing that websites such as these are available. I also am Tmobile customer and not sure if that has anything to do with it. I'm already having problems with this stupid android phone and now I have to be harassed by god knows who! This definitely sounds illegal what these people are trying to do. The number always appears as the same but with a "c". Just got a call about 5 minutes ago and I just listened and a woman says hello, hello, hello...I just turned it around on her and became the heavy breather LMAO!
