I've been getting at least one call per day from this number for the past 8 days.  I have received voicemails only twice from them, saying they're calling for a survey from the NYS  Health Dept and CDC.  I just called back and spoke to an operator and I said I wanted my number of the "list" and she said, there's no list, and that the call randomly generated numbers (and don't have names or addresses).  When I said, however, that I did NOT want to participate in the study, she guilted me by saying, "I'm sorry you want your number off the list but this is very important!" .. I'm like.. I have a CHOICE what to do, and the calling is very inconsistent.  I don't doubt the importance of their survey but I simply didn't want to participate.  They are so rude.  If they call me back,  I will scream at them...

You are truly a genius. Clearwater Research is the legal data research contractor for the CDC and the State Health Departments.  Since you apparently can access the internet find out the facts before you spread fear and lies.

Read up on the field of Statistics. Unfortunately, this method of survey is widely known by statisticians to be the least reliable for many reasons. I find it sad to learn that so many health policy decisions are reportedly based on this type of survey. Just another 25-year policy that doesn't work and needs to be overhauled. I'm not going to waste my time and privacy on a poor and inaccurate practice. I'll have myself removed.

I went to the suggested site and contacted them asking them to email me the survey.  The individual they asked for works 40 hours a week and could answer the questions through email easier and quicker.  I hope they offer this service as we would like to answer the survery.

    To JC.  Scary and pathetic?

Last week I got the letter from the TX Dept of Health saying that we might get a call from Clearwater with an explanation of the survey they would be calling about.  Today I found their number on my caller id log but no voicemail left.  What I find pathetic is that TX has a huge budget shortfall and the state health dept is wasting money by contracting with a call center.

I pay for my phone line and I determine who gets to use it.

If I don't recognize a name and number on caller id, I won't pick up.  If you call me twice and fail to leave a voice mail, I block your phone number so the next time you get  "the number you dialed will not accept your call".  If you call and stay on the line long enough to activate voice mail (thus making me check it) but you don't leave a message, you get blocked immediately.

Maybe this is an important survey, maybe not.  The letter I got from the state gave a number to call Clearwater and participate if I was interested.  I didn’t call because I am not interested so there is no chance in the world that I would answer your phone call.  In fact, since I know who is calling and why, I will just go ahead and block the number now.

Such BS! They're calling from area code 208 and yet claim to be from the Wyoming Department of Health, which of course is nonsense because they're calling after hours and from an out-of-state area code. Didn't wait to find out what they were selling or what their scam was.

Keeps getting calls from these idiots on MY CELL PHONE. I understood that these types of call were blocked by Verizon...guess not. They have called every other day for the past 2 weeks... I don't answer call from numbers I don't know.  How do you stop this?? How about fixing the broken health care system the CORRECT way and not waste MY tax dollars with annoying survey phone calls if that is what these are.

I get at least to calls from this number each day, they don't leave a message.  How can I get this number blocked on my phone? I have GCI as my phone service provider.

They can call themselves a "research" company but that most certainly does not mean that they are.  This outfit is not a research (survey) company.  They try to con people out personal information to use in identity theft.

If you are on the federal and/or state Do Not Call list, report them.  Include the date, time of call, whether it was a robo-call (tape recording), whether a real live person came on the line, what they said and what they asked.  Your state has a web page with a link for complaints regarding violations of the Do Not Call list.  Do not assume, as many people are (I have a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell them) that just because they call themselves a "Research" company, and has that showing up on their caller ID, that they are.  This "company" is a con.  They attempt to get the recipient of their call to give them personal information that they will use to try to steal your identity and totally ruin your credit by falsifying credit applications, etc. in your name.  This is a criminal operation, NOT a survey company.  Report them immediately.  Your state's attorney general's office will investigate and pursue them.  I have managed to stop calls coming into my state from several criminal outfits over the past 8 years.  Good luck!

    To: don'tcallme:

I guarantee that the first phone call you received was NOT from the Texas Department of Health.  This ID theft ring can put anything they want on your caller ID by using a simple program.  They are the ones that called you and committed a crime by falsely representing themselves as the TX Dept. of Health.  They did that in order to make you more apt to respond to their questions when they called from "Clearwater Research" (which, of course, they are not a research/survey company.)  Once again, they can put whatever they want on your caller ID.  They are trying to scam you out of your personal information to use to steal your personal ID and commit credit fraud in your name.  Report both calls to your state attorney general's office immediately.  They have committed a federal crime by misrepresenting themselves as a Texas governmental office by using the phone lines from another state.  Any crime committed in one state from another state is a federal crime, not just a state crime....which it also is in this case.  Good luck!

Watch out, I got three calls from them, they said they chose our number based on a random survey for Center of Disease Control, CDC, they wanted personal information on our health claiming they are doing a study.

They called back 3 times with the same story. Next time, I will report them to Attorney General No Call Listings, the Pennsylvania OAG does a great job in pursuing such calls, and I have used them 4 times and each time they stopped it.

Be careful these are ID theft people in my opinion.
