Seem calls have been modified to include state, city, county 'Health Dept' survey questions.  With so many tele-scams taking place to date, we will not answer any source via phone 'surveys'.  It's unsafe, and extremely obtrusive receiving multiple calls 7 days a week through late evening hours.  If said 'surveys' are legitimate, why are the calls blocked from name identification on call ID?!

No matter how nobel the cause may be, callers must respect the privacy of citizens and limit calls to reasonable hours of the day. Secondly, those defending their employer Clearwater must understand , that they are only one of many,  robo calling people at any time of the day and weekend.  For as long as large phone service providers and government are not able to bring this practice of often fraudulent calls to an end,  CDC should not be surprised to be seen as a nuisance. In addition, the results of the research can not be respresentative of the facts.

208 is the area code for the State of Idaho.

This is not a welcome intrusion on my private phone number no matter what your reasoning is. A "Do not call List" is just that and indicates that an individual does not wish unsolicited calls. TELL YOUR COMPANY TO STOP CALLING PEOPLE!

This man called me and wanted me to give out my health information over the phone!  That is completely insane.  Then he said I should go to a CDC website and take a "behavioral assessment" health study (no kidding this was part of the name). I said I would not give out information on the phone.  I got a creepy feeling from this call.

It's described on the CDC website as the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS).  Do they have the right to call and ask for my private health data?

After reading what others have to say -- which is that the individuals who call are claiming they represent various health depts, not just the CDC, but county, town, state -- well I think this is an underhanded scam that might be paid for by the health insurance industry. Insurance companies would love to have this information to raise your rates.  This should be illegal and maybe it is.  Nobody enforces the law though.

Every night I get a call from this number. I am on the do not call list.

I told these people twice I'm on the do not call registry but they don't go by that because they aren't selling anything.  Still a violation as far as I'm concerned.

I think it's interesting to be part of a study and to contribute to what is known about our nation's health.  I don't want to live in a cave but am curious to know how other people are doing compared to me; I don't live in mortal fear that every phone call, survey, candidate, or poll is fake or dangerous.  It costs me a few moments (if I choose to answer the phone) to interact with another human being who's just trying to make a living and might even get some idea of our nation's health.
If I had the job of sales, surveys, or polling by telephone, I wouldn't want to be mistreated by people whose orientation toward other people and perhaps toward life is angry, fearful, suspicious, snarling, uncooperative, and devoid of kindness.  I would have to deal with you for a few unpleasant seconds; you have to live with yourselves 24/7, and it could be unhealthy for you and for your family members if you can't put a phone call or a survey in perspective.  Part of how I live out my faith is demonstrated in how I treat humans who are employed to work by phone and how maturely I can manage interruptions of life like surveys, advertising, and appeals for charitable organizations.
Get outside to breathe deeply; donate blood; take some old clothes to a donation bin; write a letter to an elderly relative who'll be gone soon from your life forever; or exercise.  I can almost guarantee that while you do, your identity will not be stolen and you might find that there are people out there worse off than you.  You can fret sourly on your computer keyboard, have your free time to check up on non-events on your phone, and live under your not-too-bad government (that you won't have to put up with if you move to nations without similar government).   There are some reasons why people still might want to move to the United States instead of staying in nations where no CDC or NIH or FDA so effectively resists parasites, investigates public health dangers, inspects food, evaluates product claims, bravely mounts campaigns against Ebola or Zika, or issues alerts to minimize spread of hazards.  Yes, it takes a little tax money to do that, but if the survey figure out where the biggest health problems are, the money will more likely be targeted wisely.
It takes a long time, but government surveys and educational efforts can eventually reduce optionally early deaths due to smoking, drunk driving, heart disease, AIDS/HIV transmission, and recreational drug addiction.  It's sad that in the land of the free and the home of the brave people can't tell the difference between a survey and a source of fear.  Maybe we're not free and brave anymore but addicted to comfort and control over our environment.  Will we be listening when a study shows that unbroken comfort and total control over your environment can lead to rotten health, stunted ability to deal with human beings, and little resourcefulness in dealing with genuine problems in life?  (things bigger than a phone call you didn't expect)

What's wrong with keeping your life private?  Surveys bug me and last I checked, it's a free country.  If I don't want to answer any questions, I don't have to.  Bugger off!!!

They call very often. I finally just called back and it was the Clearwater Research.  I chose "0" from the menu and operator came on. I said I am on a DNC list and should not be receiving calls, please do not call anymore. How can we STOP these annoying calls? I'm tired of filing complaints.I'm tired of trying to relax and the phone rings many, many times a day from unsolicited sources! It's getting out of hand. There are so many scams! Can't believe something can't be done!!!!
