These idiots just called and actually left me a voice message and I could hardly understand anything he said. They said they're with the Dept. Of Health taking a Survey and asked I call th back. They said the hours being they close at 9 pm and what do you know they called me at 9:12 pm. SCAM!

Say what? Why the hell should anybody have to give what your company decides is a "viable reason"? It's none of your goddam business. And you might get a it more sympathy if your representatives were not calling after 9, 10 o'clock at night, which has just happened to us - not for the first time.

By the way, it's your callers who are the liars. When I (a male) answered I was told he needed to speak with oldest male of the house. When my wife answered she was told he needed to speak with the oldest female. What gives?

it's a legit call, i verified via my dept of state. the people complaining are the types who get infectious diseases, get quarantined, and go to mcdonalds.  Dont listen to the uneducated trolls on here, do your part to help the CDC. The recent string of calls probably has something to do with the entervirus d68 going around the US affecting our infants and of course the recent ebola cases.

Many at risk people don't go to the doctor for religious, personal, or other reasons.

I've been called 4 times in the past two months with this research information. I've asked them to not call back, that I did not want to participate. They called again and I stated I did not want to participate a second time. The third time I was not so polite in telling them that I did not want to participate, stop harassing me for anonymous information and if they call again, I will consider it stalking.

Next time I see you on the street I will keep calling out to you to tell me who you voted for. I will not stop calling to you until i determine you gave me a response. Its ok because the government is paying me. I am using your logic so relax I won't tell anyone.

I just got a call from this same number telling me they were from the Jefferson County Health Dept. .  I live in Indiana.
They called on my cell phone.   I would like to know how they got this number. I do not give it out.

They give out different Health Departments they are from like New York or Jefferson County Indiana and I do not live in Jefferson County.

Maybe The reason it called your phone number even though you're on "no Sales" is because they are not trying to sell you something! It's amusing to see how people can sit there and complain about how the health department does nothing but the residents of the state don't want to participate in surveys brought to you by your state health department and CDC !

It is not in violation of Hippa Law as they never ask for names/addresses or other identifying information (which they don't). The surveys are used by each state's Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control to determine distribution of funding for health programs and such. These are very important health surveys and they are legitimate, the information gathered is also published in health journals. If you ever watch the evening news and hear the health statistics in a news report, chances are this is where they gather that information.

I think you are a drone; that is to say, you have a programmed response for people who have legitimate concerns. This company (?) and you are not doing anything constructive. Why are you unaware of reality? Even YOU wouldn't respond to these calls. I have taken my landline offline, so go ahead and call. The real reason for these calls is pure greed: the phone companies get a per cent profit from each call. Look it up. Our Congress is complicit in this scam. So are you, either willingly or through stupidity. Our drone missiles are shockingly mis-aimed. Start with our big corporations, then down to the likes of you.

What is truly scary and pathetic is that there are people who believe it's okay for a person, business, or even a government sanctioned research company to invade my space, waste my time, and intrude into my life. Telephones were not invented for "research" or "sales" calls. My telephone number is a private means for me to communicate to people with whom I want to communicate.  Your random calls are akin to the traveling salesmen who would knock on a housewife's door in the middle of the day, never mind if she's in the shower or something, and when she answered the door, he would plant his foot in the crack and begin his hardball pitch. That's now unlawful in most localities and states. It shouldn't matter if it's government or not.

Furthermore, your company doesn't give up if someone ignores your call. I have ignored the calls multiple times and the sons-of-[***] just keep calling. Someone said on this forum there is a policy for "two removal requests". You also argue that it's benign and helpful. GUESS WHAT!??? Neither YOU nor your company have the authority to make my decisions for me or take MY CHOICES AWAY! You don't get to establish a policy where my "NO!" only means "NO!" when I use it a certain number of times. That's why, when I have accidentally answered one of these calls, I am no longer polite about it. Here's a news bulletin for you--remember it for the rest of your life: Your rights, and those of any entity, public or private, STOP where mine begin. My rights include life, liberty, and the pursuit (not the guarantee) of happiness, which means that when you interfere in any one of those without my blessing, you have violated my rights. That there are people who believe invading someone's life is okay is what's "scary and pathetic".

The call is nonsense. They are not from the CDC. This number is being forwarded to our Attorney Generals office in North Dakota.

We are on a do not call list. Also, they are not calling or home phone but a private cell phone! The Attorney Generals office will be in touch with muddy waters!

Clearwater has called our house for over a month often times waking the grand baby. Grrr. I finally searched it and saw where it involved research. So last night I decided I would answer so they would stop calling. The first thing I asked was "Will you stop calling if I answer the questions?" The survey takes a while to answer. The caller was polite. You are given the option to not answer. Some questions are pretty personal. I didn't care. They didn't ask for my name. It was really no big deal. Just glad they won't be calling anymore.

I keep getting calls from this number as well and it says it's from Boise, ID in my caller ID, but they claim they are doing research on the health of Indiana residents, sounds like a scam, I wouldn't give them any information.  I asked them to take me off of their call list and they replied, "we do not have a call list" and they continue to call me after I have asked them not to!
