A male with a very thick accent called today from this number. He said my personal computer with Windows 7 was sending error messages to Microsoft. He just wanted to give me instructions on what I could do to fix my computer. I asked him which computer was sending the message, which seemed to confuse him. I asked him if the instructions would involve me giving him access to my computer, and again he was confused. I hung up on him, and I later tried calling the number. I got a message saying that my call couldn't be completed. This clearly is a scam.

I got a call from this number and it was a Spanish speaking male that barely could speak English and said he was from Microsoft and my computer is infected. I played along with him and he told me to get on my computer and press the windows key along with R to bring up (RUN) then type in eventvwr (event viewer) so I did and then clicked on security and it brought up all the events that have recently happened. He then said do you see anything with a yellow triangle and I said yes, then he said your computer is infected, then some other guy that spoke better English got on the phone and said I should let them take control of my computer to get rid of the virus. At that point I told him that I was a cop and this is all being recorded...then my daughter called me and I hung up on them. I would not have let them take control of my computer..I dumb, but not that dumb sheeesh these people must think people live under a rock. It's a scam and never give anyone your ip address or let them take control of your computer. don't waste your time with these [***].

Yeah there's this thing called spell check..right in this box that this is written in that will let you know if you spelled things wrong...it puts a red squiggly line under the miss-spelled word and if you right click it, suggested or close words will be in a drop down. If your not even close and nothing appears then google or do a search on the word and chances are you will find the correct spelling. It's amazing that people don't know this and continue to spell words wrong even when they are giving to them.

Exactly the same thing; my computer was sending out messages and that i was to open it, and he would guide me thru on how to fix the problem. Yeah right.....

Just received call from this # sounded like he was from India. Said something about my computer. I just said I don't think so and hung up. My son calls me from Afghanistan on a magic jack I hoped it was him. Is there anything that can be done? This wasn't the first time.

I keep getting a call from this number saying they are Microsoft.

I got a blocked call on my cell which I didn't answer; they left an empty voice mail. Then I got one immediately on my home phone which I also didn't answer. It was this number. Caller ID just said "Texas". So they have both my numbers it appears. Wish I could think of a good way to mess with them. I tried messing with the IRS scam people and they called us even more for a week or so.

My grandmother-in-law got a call from this number this morning. A woman with an accent said "Hi Grandmother, this is your oldest granddaughter" and told her she was in trouble because she'd gone to New York with two girlfriends, gotten in a car accident because someone jumped a stop sign and hit her, but they thought it was her fault because she'd had a drink and put her in jail, and she needed $1500 for bail money to get out of jail. At this point my grandma-in-law asked her if her father could do it, thinking it could have been her real granddaughter but knowing she sounded very odd and it probably wasn't her, and the lady hung up on her. Beware this number!

I love messing with these people! Answer the call, and say " Roberts investigation services, fraud division" They hang up, and don't call back! Have fun! ;)

just received the 2nd time a call that our computer is not function correctly and has a virus.  Asked me if I'm on the computer, I said no and she told me very aggressive tone to get on my computer and to log in. Hmm, no

The caller said the same to me, I hanged up

keeps calling and hanging up ask if my name  and when i asked who is it they hung up. reverse id said its a Verizon number in texas

Got multiple calls today.

Caller claims to be from Medical compensation (210) 280-8487 looking for someone who has surgery, taking medications etc.  seemed somewhat unrealistic - trying to pull information from anywhere

Have gotten many calls from this number that shows up as "Texas". The caller, heavy Indian culture accent stated my computer was indicating I had a virus.  I was on my way out the door and asked for his number so I could call back when I had time to check this out.  (My computer does indicating that I have an error problem and does give a error number).  I was able to get an 800 number from him but misplaced it.  Today I got another call from "Jeff". Alias Jimbojackakmah!!!!  Stating again I had a problem and he was calling from Windows program.  He said he was calling from Brookland.  I told him he was showing on my caller I'd as "Texas". He said I was a liar and that they don't have a caller I'd that shows and hung up on me.  I called the number 210-290-8487 a recording came on stating I reached a timewarner customer and it hasn't been set up yet.  Don't fall for these yacmohohs!!

Answered this call today, as we have many dealings with people in Texas. The guy sounded either Caribbean or African. He said he was calling about my computer. I said which one? He said the one you use. I replied that we have several in our home. At that point, he hung up on me. Would like to report and block these types of calls. How? I'm on the Do Not Call list, which apparently does absolutely NOTHING...
