We've been receiving many calls from these numbers at all times of the day. I finally picked up to see who the hell it was and what they wanted and to tell them to stop calling my number. When I picked up they said they were calling because they were receiving error messages from my Windows computer. I said I don't have a windows computer and he proceeds by saying, "what f--kin computer do you have?" I just hung up.

I got a call from a number to my home number stating that they were calling from Microsoft Office. and was asking me to go to my computer and pull up my window's ID.  when I asked him since he stated that he had y info, why not give it to me and he argued with me.  I hung up on him and he called back asking me to listen to him.  I was being threatened to have my computers locked to where I couldn't use them anymore and I hung up on him again.  I run a tech support company and I have a tech support department that I am over for a couple of businesses.

Scammer  identified self as notifiying me of a gov't grant without an strings.  He wanted to know what I planned to do with it; ($7,000) and asked for  my banking or credit card information. Other callers say that are from Microsoft, and that my computer has been hacked.  All  wanted me to go to my computer and allow them to find the hacker and or repair the computer. These calls are irritating and should be stopped before seniors and others become victims of identity fraud.  Another scammer's number was tracked to Dominican Republic.

I got the very same call. He couldnt tell me an email address therse error messages were coming from.He askedx me if I was setting by my computer and I said yes but yoiu arent having access to it. He called me back 3 times....I referenced too much curry in his diet and never call here again!

I got a call from somebody claiming to be my grandson.  When i said it wasn't he said it was, then I told him I didn't have a grandson and he hung up.  when I called back it said number can't be dialed... smh

Got a call from this number saying that it was the IRS calling me and also they used other numbers I won't answer my phone unless I know who is calling me from now on

get calls from this number 2/3 times a day if not every day then it every other day, dont answer usually but they call early and late, weekends, did answer the other night but could not under the male, sick of this number. thought he said he was calling from micro soft but not sure, i was extremely irate with the guy  but could not get any real information from him

Got this call and the girl couldn't pronounce our company name. I asked if I could help and then there was no more (background cold call) noise and no answer. I'm sure she's in training and probably called someone else after messing up our name so badly.

We received a call from this number at 6:40 pm today; that caller ID read "Providian Financ." We let the answering machine take the call; no message was left.  Obviously they do not respect our state Do Not Call list.  GRRR!

Received a call today (01/15/2015, in the noon hour) from this number: (210)280-8487  Caller ID said "Texas".
I was down the hall from the phone, but the scammer (may Satan rip his heart out,) waited on the line until someone picked up the phone from the canned "Please leave a message at the tone" recording.
When I got to the kitchen and realized the caller hadn't hung up, I picked up the receiver and said "hello". I thought it might be someone from work calling me.  When he mentioned something about my computer, I knew instantaneously he was a scumbag, even if he hadn't had an accent. So I hung up immedieately.

What we need is for "our government", which supposedly records all our phone calls, to join up with these slimeballs to perfect the art of stealing ordinary citizens money. Can't figure out where they're calling from my a$&*#!  

By the way, I classified them as "Telemarketer" only because "Scammer" was not on the list.

"san antonio  tx".   This is  a long time for a spoofed number to be used.

My mom received a call from this number saying it was my son and he needed money from grandma. That he had been arrested in a bar and needed her help. She knew it wasn't him right away  and asked him where she was born and he hung up. Looks like this is a long time scamming number. Be careful.

I got the obamacare sales pitch...that's about the time it took for me to hang up. Make the phone company liable for the callers who blatantly disregard the no call law. I bet the BS stops then.

I looked up this number for my elderly parents, who have received dozens of calls to their [listed] landline from this number.  Generally I just google these numbers for them to see if it may be from a legitimate company, or just another scam/phishing call.  Clearly these calls are nothing legit.

That being said; it is generally useless to look up a location/address for a phone number like this.  I can pretty much guarantee it is being "dialed" by computer through a VOIP app (not a landline).  The area code means nothing, as the call could have originated from anywhere. For those of you who are not aware of this, anybody can easily get a free phone number in any US area code they want, regardless of where they live.  It is also easy to allow only outgoing calls with VOIP apps. And it is fairly simple to spoof a callerID number as well, so you really have no way of knowing if that's the actual number that called you.

Calls like this are most likely coming from outside the US, often from a country that either has no laws prohibiting this type of scam, or lacks the ability to enforce the scam laws it does have.  Even if it did come from within the US, its very difficult to trace where it actually came from, unless it was dialed from a cellphone, traditional landline, or a cable/phone company's own VOIP landline service.

In any case, NEVER give any personal info to anyone you do not know or trust over the phone. NEVER say who you are, where you live, your age, etc.. NEVER acknowledge that you are the person they are asking for (if they knew your name to start with, it is most likely because you have a listed landline phone number that they simply chose at random).

I keep getting the same phone number from texas and they know my name and say it through my answering machine, I looked them up and i know its a scam, I wish they woud get a life, they did it to my mother saying she has a virus on her computer, she called me frantic I told her don't answer them, and tell them nothing their scammers, I wish someone could do something about it im sick of the annoying calls. I see this has been going on since 2011 in these postings and still now, watch out for irs scammers also, their calling also.....

Male with foreign accent, says from Microsoft Windows & their is a problem with my computer.  Wants to tell me how to fix.  Tells me to go to the windows tab at bottom  of keypad, between Ctrl & Alt & hold this key down until he says.  I hung up on him.  I was told if I had done that, he couldhave stolen everything on my computer.
