i was not available to accept the call from this person, but does anyone know if we're able to call an inmate? i've never known anyone in jail and need to spesak to this relative!

Yeah i got a call last night about midnight and all it said was that it was from someone trying to reach me from a correctional institute, I hung up because I thought I knew who it was and I didnt want to be bothered with them... then they called back again right after I hung up. Turned out to NOT be who I thought it was.

to stop the calls.. you have to answer it and follow the prompts it asks for you to press a # in order to not receive these calls, or in order to accept the call you press a different # this does not cost you anything..

Please tell this person to stop calling my cell phone. I do not know who ever this is and do not wish to know.

Doesn't sound like a call I want to research any further from what I've read. I know someone who has been MIA for a while & the caller id showed California. If this person is in jail that is the best place for him.

I just got a call from this number. I accepted the call. Spoke with some inmate who I dont know. I told him he didnt have the right number. Howeever, I've had this phone number for about a month. He confirmed the number he was trying to dial, which was, in fact, my number. So whoever had it before me must have changed it and he never knew. Poor guy. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!

It's an inmate calling. I work in a law office, and our clients are sometimes locked up, so I answered. And sure enough, it was one of our clients. These calls may sometimes be from random unknown people, but the call I got was actually intended for me, and was someone I knew. Oh, and the caller ID says California, but that doesn't mean it's someone calling you from California - the call I got was from Washington state.

I received several calls from this number before finally answering. It's true - the number is a Jail calling card - glad I answered, it was my friend needing help.

It is a pre-paid call from a jail inmate.  Likely you should answer it.  It was several days before I finally picked it up and it was from someone I knew.

I have a nephew in jail in florida so I guess it is him calling but when I answer I cannot hear them well and they hang up

I got a call today. I guess he was bored in jail. He just wanted to talk to some girls to kill time.

213-543-0000 is calling me after 8pm, the voice message requests if I approve of this call please press 0 or hang up immediately.  I heard awhile back that inmates can use a certain number, and if you press the 0 to approve of the call then the inmate can call anywhere and it will be billed to your phone.

Over the past week or two we received multiple calls from this number and with the exception of the phrase "detention center" the rest of the automated call was completely in Spanish.  I regret that I do not speak or understand Spanish...and had no idea how to answer the call as I could not understand the prompts offered.  I tried to call back but the automated operator told me I could not put this call through.  Very odd indeed.  The most annoying thing about these calls was that they have been coming in at all hours of the day...including after 9:30 and 10 in the evening.  As I have two babies you can imagine how upset I was to get calls this late!  I have Cablevision so I called an Optimum Online customer service rep. & they have since promised to block this phone number from calling my house anymore.  I too have no friends or family in jail so I believe this "cellmate" is calling me in error.  Wish me luck that this "block" will be effective!!!

This is an inmate #. However it is a free call. If the jail that they are at allows they can have money put into their commissary and can use it to make calls. The opening message will tell you who is calling and then gives you an option to accept or deny the call. There is no charge to you, the funds are deducted from their commissary account.

I recieved a call from this number. It was really strange and was a recording. It said it was from Sean P? Who called me and why did they call?

i get 3 calls in one day from this number then realized it was my boyfriend who apparently got lock up!
