I received a voicemail from 213-543-0000. I honestly do not know who would call me from this number. No one in my family has ever been in jail.

IDK who this is but they have called me 7 times already in a matter of an hour! I answered and it says "caller has hung up." wtf! how do I make it stop?!?!?

We just bought my daughter a cell phone and she is getting calls from an inmate in a california jail.. i would appreciate it if this stops!!!! She has already received 2 calls this morning...

i have been getting these phone calls for a few days now, and figured i would come here and look it up, sure enough, my stepson is in the county jail, and he was calling, but the recording didnt let him state his name or say it was from the jail, so i called up there and the dispatcher told me that was what it was.

I received a voicemail from this number.  I don" know who this might have been and when I looked up the number, I was advised to report it.  I am going to block it from my phone.

I keep getting calls from a CCS in Spanish.  It sounds like someone is calling me collect from jail!
The number is 213-543-0000.  then sometimes soon after, I get a regular call from some Spanish women who keeps asking for Luis??????  She doesn't speak English and no matter how many times i say wrong number, I get her calling or leaving messages.  They stopped for awhile, but they're back again.  I get calls about 8:00 in the a.m.

6/7/11 Received a call from 213-543-0000 but the caller hung up.

I just got a call from this number.  I was not here, but I wouldn't have answered anyway ... because I didn't recognize the number.  But, after reading above that this number is a calling card from the county jail system -- I can think of one person it probably is (someone I really don't want to talk to ... but I will talk to them if they call here again).

THIS IS A FREE CALL FOR YOU!!!  THE INMATE IS CALLING YOU WITH A PREPAID CARD!!!

So, if you don't know who it is ... and/or you want them to stop calling ... ANSWER THE PHONE!!!!

I can't believe the number of 'tards on here, "how do I find out who it is?" or "how do I get it to stop?"

Easy answer to both... ANSWER YOUR PHONE!!!    Duh!

I wish I knew who it was from and what jsil so I could talk to them but, I never get the call in time to pick it up because I have music on caller tunes.

Ive gotten two calls from this number and a 307 number. Don't bother answering NO ONE YOU KNOW is actually in jail, these are just some [***] trying to take your money somehow.

I have received repeated calls from 866-847-1251 and 213-543-0000 today.  both numbers come up as correctional facility fee based numbers.  Not sure if it is a scam or not but it will cost to find out.  Since there is no one I know in jail, I am not finding out.

these calls may be coming from an inmate somewhere in u.s., your conversation if you accept these calls may be monitered by a party you don't know about. privacy seems to be non existant in todays world. a pity i think

I received 2 calls from this number within a few seconds of each other.   They both came around 10pm, I'm pretty sure the jails don't allow calls that late at night.   I only know one person in jail and it's here in Colorado and the last time he called me it showed up as private.    I tried calling the number back, but it was busy.    

I plan on seeing him tomorrow, so I will ask him if he called me.

All day I keep getting calls from 213-543-0000, I haven't been able to talk to anyone, just machines, never identifing themselves??

Keep getting calls from this number today 5 times. It's a jail in Los Angeles,CA Don't know anyone there.

Someone called me from this number several times- Spanish speaking (I am not fluent).
I knew it was from Eloy, Az. jail after their 2nd attempt, but the area code is not in Arizona..
I decided to refuse all calls thereafter. I prayed they are not able to use my number for a scam.

Really ppl, lets go over this info again...this number is a pre-paid calling card that inmates are given. Not just one jail, but all over the US! Lol, I am a case manager and deal with ppl that are incarcerated ALL OVER the US. This WILL not cost you and you are given the option to "not receive calls from this facility" (usually option 5) almost always option 1 accepts. Instead of complaining, listen, or read the comments on here. This is not a collect call. Oh, btw, OF COURSE they monitor and record the calls...they are from someone in jail.
