Called my cell 12/16/13 p.m. PST. I didn't recognize area code and wasn't expecting anyone to call me from Texas, so I didn't pick up.  They didn't leave a message.

called my phone 6 times in the past 10 mins.  set to auto-reject now.

***Just an FYI for anyone who is actually answering the call... I would STRONGLY suggest not answering a call from anyone you don't know anymore.  They use a computer dialer that can detect when someone picks up.  Once you do that, they now have in the system that your number is a live and active number and will either continue to call it or sell your number to other companies.  I Found that out this hard way.  If you get a strange number, google it before answering.  If it's so bloody important, they will leave a message

Your right,  The no call list State and National,  are a scam in themselves.  They demand extra tax money to run the
service for us and then do nothing.  That's what this country has turned into.  Keep us all spending money for things
that don't work.  Could be THEY are the people making these calls.  Or they get a kick back from the scamming.
DC and the FCC already know who these people are-----They wire tap all the phones calls. Right?

Received a call from this number about 8pm. Didn't answer it as it rang in. Afterwards called the number back. Here's where it got interesting: after 5 rings the call back was answered by what sounded like a very distressed middle aged Asian man. He said he wasn't making the calls, but was receiving a lot of calls from angry people who had been getting them. Sounds to me like someone hijacked his phone number to use to make "free" long distance marketing calls. I felt really sorry for him. I think he is the victim in whatever is happening with his cell phone number. I did look the area code up - it's Dallas TX.

I admit, if you're getting several per DAY, it's very frustrating; much less several per month.

If you answered the phone or called them back, you are validating your number for them; and any other scammers to whom they sell your number.

I know it's hard not to answer sometimes; we think it might be a legit call.  But once you know the scammers' number(s) or 'caller ID', please don't answer.  These numbers are here and other web sites like "800notes".

On some phones, like my Panasonic, go thru the menu and search for 'block call' or whatever.  Problem is the Panasonic has a limited number of numbers that can be blocked.  I usually go in and remove a few if they haven't called or been blocked in a while.  As has been stated, they change numbers fairly frequently, therefore skirting the FTC.
