Tried to track the number, but it is always busy.

called my cell phone when I called back it is busy

this number (214) 969-5489, called the house on a Sunday at 7:15 (not normal for telemarketers).  By the time I got to phone to tell them to get lost, they hung up.  Ten seconds later, wife's cell phone rang.  Yup, same number.  No one there.

Phone rang but no one answered me. My cell phone rang a minute later and it said no number and it was a man at a pay phone in Dawson Springs, Ky.Very strange call.

Recieved obsene phone call. Called back and got busy signal.

Caller mad ethemsleves out to be a phonen operator. They said that someone was trying to get thorugh to me. BUt that my phoe would not except collect calls. That they needed my credit card number for this call to go thorugh. Like that was going to happen. I told them I do not know a Lori and that I do not have Credit cards. They soon hung up. It was from the 214 969 5498. I have called verizon and my local police department and not have called the FBI. Because it is a call form out of state nothign can be done about it. This is possible Credit card fruad.If info was to get out there. I heard prisoners do this and use the credit card info for their own gain. How sad it that?

this number came up and i answered it and they hung up as soon as I said hello. I googled it and it came up with a ton of websites like this one.... wonder what the deal is

my wife got a call from this number.  the operator said there was a collect call from a "Kevin".  we don't know anyone named Kevin.  The call came from Dallas Texas.  WE think it is a scam.  BEWARE.

recent X-BF called from this #, supposedly from a payphone in Port Angeles, WA.  When looked up online, one site said Dallas and another Glendale, AZ.

I got two calls from this phone today, I picked neither of those calls as I didn't recognize the number.

I recieved a phone call from this number on my cell last night. I didn't answer the beep because I was talking to my boyfriend on the other line. I tried calling it back and only recieved a busy tone. After reading some of your post I decided to call my local police and have them check into it...I am from Lockport, Louisiana...dont know anyone in Texas....or anyone who would call me collect! I am a little freaked out now having read your post...I will keep you updated on what the police say!

Received several calls from this number only after a friend called me from prison.  the number is from a company located in texas that provides the pay telephones that are located inside of several state prisons.  my friend is in New York and I live in Atlanta.  You will receive the calls from the texas number after several back to back failed attempts to reach your number by collect call from within a prison.

i been getting repeatly calls from this number n i dont even knoe who it is especially the area code number cuz im from PA soo who ever is callin need to stop on sum serious shyt ! itz getting kinda annoying

My daughter is traveling to the northwest and left a message she was in South Dakota. When I looked up the area code it's Dallas, Tx. The second call showed as "No Number".  I called back and got a busy signal. Based on the other messages this number obviously trunks all over the place when someone uses a pay phone in other states.

This isn't the first time this number has come up on my phone when a relative calls from a pay phone from anyplace in the midwest (north or south).

yes as well as for me i have recieved a phone call from this number on Oct 27,2007 @11:50 A.M. i called it back and i recieved a busy signal as well.

got a call today while i was in class from this number with no message and when i call back it is busy. my boyfriend was arrested last night in chapel hill nc (which i found out later). maybe this was a call from him? really confused

Received a message for a collect call from this number.  Person calling was 'Kevin'.  We do know a Kevin but he shouldn't be in Texas.  Glad we have caller ID.

Just as Hollywood J states above, the number is from a phone service that provides telephone service from prisons, throughout the country. An inmate, someone you know that has your number is trying to contact you.
