This number came up on my cell. It was my son and he was calling from a payphone in Westminster, CA. I know that's where he was as I picked him up 30min later and it would have been really difficult for him to get from Texas that quick! It must be a payphone service that operates all the phones in an area.

Received a call from this number from a friend that is in Rawlins,WY.

I got a call from 214-969-5489 this morning around 11am. They left a voicemail .. it sounded like they were in an 18 wheeler or somthing like that. Then they said hey and then hung up. Right before they hung up it sounded like a CB noise in the back ground. Number shows from TX. Nothing but busy signal when I called back for the last 2 hours.

My sister in law called me from this number.  It is a pay phone in Tigard, OR.

Got a call from this number a few minutes ago but then lost service, when I got service back I had a voicemail from a friend of mine who is in rehab in michigan (I live in FL) - less than 3 minutes later.  

I wonder if pay phones all link phone numbers some how and that's why it's always busy?  I mean people are saying they are at pay phones in different states.  How weird.

Got hangup phone call for ths number at 12:16 PM Pacific time It is a flony to make or palce harrassing phone calls in state of Nevada under state statute 201.255

i didnt get to answer... i answereed and they hung up.... but its really annoyed cuz im only 14 years old and i hate when people call n hang up when i answered....

(214) 969-5489 is supposedly a Dallas, TX land line. I answered and they hung up.

I received a call from this number as well.  Long story short, it is a payphone and the person could be calling from anywhere.  My brother is in Pensacola, FL and I am in LA.  The Dallas number showed up on the caller id....After I read the posts i was somewhat afraid I thought someone had gotten my personal information. I am now relieved to know that is not the case

I just got a call from a lucy rodriguez from the IRS collect. I did not except the phone charges. I thought it would be fraud.

i typed in the number 214-969-5489 in google and this page popped up.

I guess there still on the loose.

a man calls me from this number all the time... he is very weird...nd says rude stuff... he also calls from another number 702-444-4939 ... the sexual crime unit is looking into it... if you are getting calls ...report it to the local police and tell them to call the sexual crimes unit of that state,,,  really.. I did get a call from a detective and they are conserned and asking people to report the calls

I just got a call from this number while I was working. The guy asked for my coworker & when i tried to take a message he said he was from Clarskton, MI & calling about giving my friend a job. He asked if I was interested & I asked what the job was about. He said he was from a mortage company & looking to hire a receptionist. After listing things about the "job" he included that once a week I'd have to take care of him. When I asked what he meant he said "use your imagination." I quickly got off the phone with him, because I felt uncomforable. Anyways, the guy was a real creep, & I want to know where hes from. So that way I know whether I should be freaking out right now or not.

Received a call from this number and it was a woman calling saying someone was trying to call me collect and they asked if I would accept a charge of $1.99 for 20 minutes talk time. I said No and she said thank you and hung up.

It's like a prepaid cell phone. Like a calling card i guess they use the same number after the money runs out on the phone. i live in philadelphia, pa & my boyfriend called me on it from reading, pa

I live in Canada..received a call from this number at 5:30 am. When my boyfriend answered it said a collect call from Liz. Did not recogize the name so he hung up. He said the woman on the other end sound distraught and crying. So I tried the reverse phone search and found the call was from an unpublished number in Dallas Texas, Southwestern Bell. Then I googled the number and found this site. Glad we didn't accept the call!

Got a call from this number.  A lady said she was an ISO operator and that my sister needed to call me collect.  It asked if I wanted to pay by credit card or have the bill sent to my home.  It asked for my birthdate, last 4 digits of my SS # and also for my home zip code.  I was stupid enough to give that info only to find out that it was saying it couldn't connect.  I will report this to the AG's office to see what is going on.
