- C M| 1 replyThis company called my home and asked for my ex-husband. My ex has never had this number and we have been divorced for over 5 years. How did they connect me with him? I am on the do not call list so why did they call me?

- Ed| 2 repliesGot a call from a guy who said he was trying get a hold of my brother, "Bob". He said he called a number that he thought was his, but it was my dad. He gave his name as Paul Gostlin, at 215-244-4200 extension 1757. When I asked what it was in regards to, he said it was a personal matter. First off, my brother never went by "Bob" in his entire life, so I knew he was phishing. So I got as much info from him and I googled the number and found this site. I had a feeling he was a debt collector, my brother is a bum.
- illinois| 2 repliesThis is a collection agency they have violated the FDCPA laws & they need to be closed down but the only way to help is to report them to the FTC maybe the BBB they have accts that were sold to them from various companies & they use their accuraunt & look up by SSN and get info such as address neighbors last known job etc. & they won't stop calling I have previously worked for a collection agency & I know how it works they don't care about you. You can't be put on a do not call list it's not telemarketing. They probably have auto dialers and they do what's called phone blasting and they put any number you may have had or that may have contact with you in a dialer and it sends out computer messages first then after so many dials it will put the call into the agents cue. Don't be frightened by them they can't make you pay a dime. Worst mistake for you to do is get on a auto plan over the phone it's not going to change anything in the pc it will show as open active acct with pymnt plan. Don't give in.

- ScottYes, theyre probably a private collections center. They bought out the contact from a bigger credit card and get partial payment on any returns they get. I'm going bankrupt, there are many different agencies buying these out so this is just one of them. They always sound kindof "mean" when they leave a message. Trick: program each credit agency into your phone, set the ringer to silent for that number, you never hear it. I have about 30 numbers in there, I wake up at 10 am, theres always 4 calls yet I had silence. Also set your outgoing message to say your a business. They show more respect when they get "hello, youve reached allied plumming, please leave..." they they give you a generic script to please call. you dont even have to hear the name "debt" .. :) I have more tricks too. Ive only answered 1 of 500 calls, because somehow they called from a local number and got me. good luck to anyone i may be helping

- NewtThis person calls my home fishing for information on our neighbor. He wanted to know if our nieghbor was still employed @ current job and if he still lived at his current address. My concern is why are these people calling MY house looking for my neighbor? They asked me to verify my address. I would like to know how they got our phone number and address. It appears that this is a very SHADY company.

- MissouriThey called and left a message asking for my ex-husband by the name of "Mike". My ex has never lived at this address, nor had this phone number, nor does he go by the name of "Mike." We have been divorced for 15 years. I did return the call and told him my ex's home phone number (which is in the phonebook anyway), but would not provide his cell number when they asked. They knew his place of business and his year of birth. They assured me they would remove my number from their files.
I thought this might be a collection agency. I don't like the idea that they were able to connect me with him, however, public court records do reveal a good bit of information and if someone is tenacious enough and make enough phone calls, they might hit it lucky. I wish now I hadn't returned their call, but I figured they would just keep calling me.- Caller: NCB
- BrettHave called me at least 50 times, and i basically say [***] off every time, and now I'm getting fed up. Saying things to them like, I've told you 20 times that im not a person named "Celeste" and you need to stop calling me. Trying to harass them back as much as possible =D
- JoshThis company is called... NCB Management Service Inc. Also Known as National Creditors Beareu Inc. They are located at 1 Allied Dr Trevose Pa 19053. They are one of the worst collection agencies around. They use horible collection tactics. They have people working there that could care less about you or your situation. When you ask for a MANAGER, you WILL be forwarded to just ANOTHER collector. They are called a T/O. NOT A REAL MANAGER!!!! It would be a VERY rare ocassion for you to actually be transfered to a REAL manager. Why? Because Managers there dont do anything but sit around all damn day and tell the collectors what to do and not to do. This company will Harrass you til no tomorrow! Seriously!

- Mr. SmithCaller called, left message, and identified self as "Ms. Reed" looking for my ex-spouse (actually, just used her name). Said it was urgent and that there were some 'options'. Caller stated that I did not respond to her letters. Caller asked that I call her back at 800-828-1110 x 1855 and to reference my file # when I call back which was my phone number.
***Caller also called another relative of mine, not my ex-spouses, and left same message***
Once I called back, Ms. Reed asked who I was and I immediately asked that she identify herself since she called me first. She told me that she works for a company that deals with many 'contracts' and refused to tell me her company name, instead kept asking for my name and number which I did not immediately give to her. I advised that I have not been married for 5+ years to whom they were seeking and to stop calling me. I told Ms. Reed the name of my ex-spouse and she told me that she needs to speak with her and that "it's urgent." Ms. Reed advised that her 'research department' got my name and home telephone number. I asked that she never call me again and I gave her my home phone number and she then knew my name and address. I was advised that this matter did NOT involve me and ONLY my ex-wife.
The other relative that was called, called me within minutes of me hanging-up with Ms. Reed. Ms. Reed left the same message to which my relative called back after first calling me and asking why they were called by "National Credit" at dinner time. Ms. Reed was dismissive with my relative and said "Don't worry about it, we spoke with XXXX" to which my relative asked Ms. Reed to tell them who they were and why they were calling. Ms. Reed replied that it is a matter between my ex-spouse and them. My relative asked how they got their number, to which Ms. Reed replied "it's the 21st century!" Not satisfied, my relative asked again how they got in touch with them since the number is unlisted, isn't any longer a relative, and relative has a different last name. Ms. Reed repeated that "it's the 21st century!" and identified my relative by name, number, and address without my relative giving it to Ms. Reed. My relative asked to speak with a manager, and Ms. Reed said "fine, he's a Jewish Male and I'm African-American". My relative inquired what race had to do with this and asked for the manager AGAIN. My relative was then hung-up on.

- HereI got a call today from the 215-244-4200. I didn't answer but it came up from a NCB place. They left a message, was a long pause, and got this guy asking for me, and stating to call this number and gave an ext. number. Never said what it was related to. I had a feeling it could be a scam.
Pisses me off, next time, I'll blow a loud whistle in their ear!!!! - workerThis company actually called my office trying to reach someone that apparently lives down the road to see if I could do them a favor. That has to cross lines and must be completely illegal for collection practices. How absolutely inappropriate.

- TLMy bum of a brother-in-law owes somebody, and we are the recipients of the nasty-gram phone calls. This company has called a few times and while they have always been polite with me once I get going on them, they do come off rude when the phone is first answered, especially if it is answered by my elderly parents who live with me.
My husband and I have both told them the deal with his brother, but telling them the facts and even giving them the correct address and phone number doesn't seem to stop the calls. I understand why they keep calling, but sheesh! I guess the real person to be angry at is the bum who owes the money, but I just wish they'd take my number off their list.
We don't have anything to do with that side of the family, and so calling me repeatedly isn't going to make me talk to my brother-in-law about it. Besides, if he's ignoring his responsibilities, and he's giving my number as his own home phone to get around talking to these creditors, then yelling at him about this company bugging me isn't going to help fix it.- Caller: National Credit
- saJust got a call from this place looking for someone who does not live here. When I first answered all I heard was music so I do believe they have a bunch of phones going out at once. Said someone told them that i was related to to whom they were looking for and wanted to know if I was. Told them again that no one by that name live here and that they had best not call me again. Again they were presistan and finally started using some bad languge at them. They then got snotty back and ask if I only made it thru 6th grade. When I told them to fu..not call again he said he had never called me before. No he didn't but someone else had and then he hung up. Wait until they call again. If asked about education I will tell them that must be as far as they got with the job they have....
