If you want them to stop calling you or anyone in your family or friends, this is what you do.
List them in NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY-2008 (Managed and enforced by FTC, FCC and State Official) and if they still call you , they will be fined up to $16,000 per case. Here is the link to the Registry.

This is your legal right, you have right to stop anyone from calling you if you choose not to receive calls, regardless of you owe them money or not, it does not matter.
They will not call you again if you mention this to the caller.
Or just list them in NATIONAL DO NOT CALL REGISTRY and report them to FTC if they call again....
Sometimes they are SOO RUDE that they deserve the fine.
Also, they are very much aware of this law. If they call you, they are hoping that you don't know this law and they can scare you enough to talk you into getting you agree to something on their term.
Don't buy into it.
They have paid your bank (Credit Card company) 3 cents on the dollar to buy your debt and trying to make you pay full amount that you owe.
This is a crazy time and we are all having a hard time. We don't need these guys harassing you.

they are jerks...i did have a debt and i'm paying it through a debt consolidation .. its the best way..its easier .. 1 payment a month for your debt and they are suppose to stop harrassing you.

they've been getting payments from me and still harrass me for more payments...they even went into my account and took extra money which caused me to bounce..the account has not been shut down and i opened a new one with the only the debt consolidation having my info.

just slam the phone down right in their faces...dirtbags all the way...

make your payment arrangements with the company or a consolidation process that can help you.

If you're sending payments then I agree with Sue..slam the phone down in their face...if you've told them they are getting payments, change all your numbers...
and deal with someone you can trust who's helping you pay your debt.

Otherwise slam the phone right in the f-ing faces.

Debt collection agency  NCB looking for relative...Do not give them sh.iat!!!  Just tell them u are on do not call list

I put them on my friends and family plan calls are free then I blocked their number then I call and call and call and call and call, they complain they can not get anything done well........ know they know how it feels. It ties up their 800 number

They call everyday 4 x a day looking for someone I know.  I told them he is not at this address.  I came home from work and found in my mailbox thier number and Gerald Roberts name on it.  Called the post office to report it..(it is illegal to put anything in a mailbox without going thru PO) was told file a police report which I'm doing today get a case number then call the post office again.  This is a federal law.  I called NCB told them they broke the law by stalking my house and putting that in my mailbox, they denied doing it.  Once again this morning Gerald Roberts called told him if he called again not only am I pressing charges for federal mail tampering, but harassment charges.  I'm disconnection my phone in two weeks so this will end, but I'm not letting them off easy.  BEWARE ITS NOT JUST YOUR PHONE THEY ARE USING THEY COME TO YOUR HOME!

Agreed about Herve Woods.  Maybe if he used different tactics he would get better results.  I want to pay my debt, but I won't make promises I can't keep just to get him to stop calling me.  And when I try to be honest, he uses information he has gained about me from the internet and my credit report to make me feel worse about the situation.  And he also uses phishing (I just figured that out from a strange question he asked me).  

Not sure why they need to use these tactics.  Most people want to take care of their responsibilities, but it has to be done within their means or they just won't try.  Things happen in people's lives that causes them to not be able to timely pay their debts.

I really just don't want to work with Herve Woods and asked for another person to be assigned to my account but was told "that's not how it works."  From these posts, it seems like all their collectors use the same tactics.

I am going to try a different strategy with this debt.

They called twice in the past four minutes.  I did not answer the first time (they hung up without a message).  Strangely I was suspicious of the number and looked it up.  Lo and behold, I find all these postings!

They called a couple of minutes later, so I decided to answer.  A woman asked for "Pearl" and my last name.  No one here by that name - so having just read all these posts, I responded, "No. You have a wrong number," and hung up.  Didn't even give them the chance to respond.

I, too, am on the National "do not call" Registry.

they just yell scream and just called my home...called me a [***] and would not give the reason whey they called....just block them

they asked me for my mom  that was passed a way. i told them  you have the wrong number . they told me she needed help and she gave them my number .  ..... after i told them she had passed away  they said this is being taped i just hung up  after that

I continue to be harrassed by the same male caller and he calls everday. He does not even have the correct name and he sounds very intimidating. Then he leaves a message telling me to call 877-901-3200 ext.1456. I do not appreciate being harrassed day in and out. I am not even sure it the same last name that this man uses is the same because he slurs over it very fast. I do not know for sure the company and do not know what to do to stop this stalking. This is the first time I've actually gotten a full number from them, usually it only shows up as four or five digits. But they're always calling for the same guy. Scott Smith. I've told them many times that it isn't me. The always say that this is the first time they've called and they apologize for it. It stopped for a while, and now I suppose it's starting again. I think they're a debt collector, but I haven't the slightest idea. How can I make this stop?

this person keeps calling over and over saying they are mcb management services and harrassing me about credit card debt.  they call my family and all hours of day and night.

I think this is a scam too. He wouldn't tell me anything it was in reference to but kept saying things like "I know it's you but you just won't admit it" and "I have options, I can help you" but he wouldn't say what with. I think it is someone trying to take advantage of the millions of people in debt by collecting a portion of the debt in lieu of the full amount, but I don't think he works for the company's money is owed to. I think he has access to some peoples debt amount and then tries to get money from them that won't really go towards the debt. I can't say for sure, but based off of what he said to me and the research I've done, he's a sleazy, slimy, scammer.

Someone from this number called my house asking about a residence down the street from me and did I know the person that leaved there. I don't and told him so. I feel that this was some sort of collection agency, but where these tactics may be legal they are in nature a form of harassment to me and all the others who get these calls. We are not responsible for the people who owe the money and should not be harassed in this manner.
