- DP| 1 replyI just started getting calls from this number tonight, twice already within 1/2 hour. They don't leave a message. Did a *69 and found this site. Since they're conducting surveys they don't have to abide by the Do Not Call Registry requirements. My number's unlisted; I have no idea how they got it or why they're calling me. The only suggestion I have is, if you have a recorded message greeting, put a new one on saying that " if you're calling from 231-224-2031 I'm not interested in wasting my time to answer your survey so you can make a profit, do not call this number again." You can shorten to your own version. I just get so angry at people trying to make bucks off me for free. You might instead say that if they'll send a $100 check you'll answer their questions. Be creative and don't let them get to you, because they'll continue to call indefinitely so you need to go on the offensive. If they continue to call, then you can file a valid complaint. This eventually worked for me when a collection company kept calling for someone not at my number, but hasn't worked for the automated messages. I wouldn't send an email, as you don't know if they'll give your email address to someone else or who it may end up with. Hope this helps.

- KACall from the Tarrance Group, a Republican polling firm, wanting to talk about issues coming up in November. In other words, we want you to tell us what you want to hear, so our clients can massage the message and then drill it into you for the next six months. No, thanks! I have no desire to play pawn in the election wars.

- Alby| 1 replyI had an issue with a different phone number before. Just got this one now.
I'm going to tell you what I did that worked with the other one, although with more than 140 messages already, it's unlikely you'll see it. But if you do, try this.
You get the call -- check your caller ID -- you recognize the call is from these people. Answer the phone immediately. SAY NOTHING. Just listen. No matter what they say, just listen. Quietly. (If the TV is on in the background, that's OK, just don't YOU say anything.)
Eventually they'll hang up. They'll call again. Rinse and repeat.
It may take up to a week of this garbage, over and over, but sooner or later they're going to get tired of wasting money on you and give up.
But if you answer and talk, or if you let your answering machine take it, it will be much longer before they finally quit (if ever).- Caller: Caller ID says RESEARCH CENTER
- KTWe got a call from this number on 5/15/10. We did not answer it but were looking at the Caller ID. When our answering machine kicked in, all we heard was a dial tone. I always look up these calls when I do not know who they are. Tired of them.

- ChuckOK, I played their silly game. This was a political caller trying to pass herself off as a researcher doing a survey. After several basic questions about two candidates running in the November 2010 election, my responses clearly showed that I supported the Republican candidate this time around. The "researcher" then asked numerous questions bordering on smear stuff about the Republican candidate and asked if the information would be more likely, less likely, or would make no difference in my views toward the candidate. After the umteenth question regarding the Republican, I finally said, "When do we get to questions about the Democrat?" She replied that we were almost to that point in the "survey" before she quickly completed the smear stuff questions on the Republican. She then only asked 3 questions about my views regarding issues the incumbent Democrat voted for before ending the "survey" and the call.
Clearly this was an attempt to "inform me" and change my planned vote for the Republican. The Democrats are desperate, they must be flush with money, and they are already playing dirty!!!! I'm sorry I ever voted for any!!!!!!- Caller: Mountain West Research Ctr

- DanI got a call from 213-224-2031 on 5/24/10. The caller, who had a strong hispanic accent, identified himself and said he was not solicting anything but was conducting a poll. The first 6 or so questions were what a legitimate polling organization might ask such as did you vote in 2006, 2008 and are you likely to vote in 2010. The next question was clearly a "push poll" type statement. It had become clear that they were being paid by someone who is working for the election of a Republican - a guy named Beesley - in Colorado's 22nd legislative district. As soon as I heard the question, I knew it was a push poll and that the bull s__t he was selling about Democrat Dianne Primavera was a total lie. The question was, would I vote for Dianne Pravera if I knew she was 60 years old, had been diagnosed with cancer and was told by her doctor she had five years to live. In the first place having had a spouse die from leukemia, I found this to be totally disgusting. And second how is this relevent to anything? I told the caller he was just doing a god d__n push poll and hung up. If they call you just realize that they aren't a legitimate polling firm but only hired propogandists for any Republican who is willing to stoop below the gutter to win an election.

All were "predictive dialed" by computer with no human at other end. All they had to do is listen to the announcement and press 5 to make phone ring. Their mindless dialer couldn't accomplish that. - adamf replies to BKto the fool using an airhorn, all you do is damage your own hearing.
Phone's have a very limited dynamic range. Using an airhorn is like dropping an anvil on the accelerator pedal of a yugo. It won't go any faster. - CourtThat Research Center outfit called on Thursday June 3, 2010 at 9:16 PM Washington State time. I think this outfit out wins all the others as far as how late at night they called. Caller ID registered their number as (231) 224-2031. That number is out of Fremont, Michigan. The fellow that called had an accent and said it was a survey but I told him I did not do surveys and to also take me off of their calling list PERMANENTLY. He said he would. I haven't received any more calls. I am also on the DNC list. If they keep pestering you, it's helpful to tell them to PERMANENTLY remove your number from their list.
